I read the reviews two nights ago after I had received Synvisc One in my left knee. I have no cartilage left and have exhausted all other options. The reviews made me nervous. It was too late to turn back. My knee was uncomfortable after the shot (felt like a wedge of rubber was stuffed in my knee joint). But I kept telling myself, you've gone from no cartilage to what amounted to full cartilage. ...

he froze the sight first - so I did feel relief for the first day - afterwards - it was painful-this did not last too long - told me to expect it to take about a month to see results -so far so good - happy with results - says 6 months to 2 years relief - I'm optimistic - took some fluid out before injection to relive some existing pain and swelling - fingers crossed lots of pressure while getting injection

in 2013 I had one injection of Synvisc in my knee (osteoarthritis) and felt almost immediate relief! When I left the Dr's office it was like I had a new knee! So now, 5 years later (!!), I finally need like I need another one. Yesterday I did have another injection: Different technique with a different Dr! 1st Dr took almost 5 minutes to inject the Synvisc (gave me immediate relief) yesterday new Dr. (1st one has retired) did the injection in less then a minute. Almost severe pain! Couldn't even put my weight on that let and literally limped out to my car with my leg locked because I couldn't bend that knee. Lasted for a couple of hours! Until I got home and applied ice to my knee. So, advice to everyone, when getting an injection of Synvisc ask (or tell) the person administrating it to do it S-L-O-W-L-Y! It made a huge difference to me! I realize 5 years is very unusual for Synvisc to last but that has been my experience. Both the 1st and the 2nd Orthopedic Surgeon that administered it told me I could get 3 mos, 6 mos and possibly even a year of relief and the 2nd Dr. yesterday said that the result I had with the 1st injection was highly unusual. Finger's crossed this 2nd one will go as well. . . Read More Read Less

3 weeks since synvisc one injection. Significant improvement; less pain at night, less pain when walking and less swelling except after exercise. Have undergone three times a week exercise regimen that has significantly strengthened the muscles around the knee. I believe the combination of knee muscle (VMO) strengthening and the injection have greatly sped along the improvement to date.

Just got the shot today. Have about 5 millimeters of medial meniscus missing in knee. Shot was relatively painless after numbing agent. Knee has little to no swelling. Still same pain level but I don't expect any relief for a few days. Will update after a week to report on progress with pain. Age 54, male, fit (5'9 and 160 lbs).

Was in pain for months and nothing worked. Had SYNVISC-ONE single injection in each knee. Shots were not painful and no bad experience. Slight full feeling in knees after shot. Had both knees done at the same time. Left knee was worst but it is even responding and feeling better. This is only my second day and it is positive. Let's see how long it will last. Dr Daniel Chan in Hollywood FL was excellent and the whole team was very kind.

I was given 3 rounds of injections, 2 weeks following the 3rd injection my knee swelled up. I had to have my knee drained of fluid three times. I was told my body reacted to the injection like an infection.

I had first injection nine months ago. Pain in my knee stopped completely after three weeks. Certainty will have another one if pain returns.

I have been on Synvisc-One for almost 5 years and it has worked great. Last time I tried Monovisc as threr is no swelling after shot. However it only lasted 15 weeks. I will return to Synvisc and bear the same day of injection swelling.

I have more pain and less movement in my knee! Swelling is still present even though the injection was administered 2 months ago! I know have to pay for physical therapy so I wrote letter requesting a refund. Received a phone call stating â??it is not company policy to give refunds. There product did not help it actually made the pain much worse

I received Synvisc in both knees. The pain increased after injections and my right knee has gotten worse over the last six months since. Upon stepping down to walk I get a very sharp pain and sometimes it feels as though itâ??s just going to come out from under me.

This is the biggest waste of time and money. they charged my insurance 3200, I paid 800 for both knees and the shots did absolutely nothing. I mean I did not notice any difference in anything. i am still in the same condition. don't waste your money.

Dont be scared away by some of the more unsuccessful reviews. I had both knees injected a few days ago. My knees no longer grind during movement. I can approach stairs like a normal person instead of a onesy twosy kinda of accent or descent. I walk so much better and without any pain. I can't wait till it reaches its maximum effectiveness. Ask doc to use a slightly smaller needle than the one provided for less pain during injection. I went right back to work . . . did take a couple of Tylenol for "fullness" feeling and stiffness, but other than at . . . 5 Stars ALL THE WAY!!Read More Read Less

I had the injections in both knees one month ago, at first the left knee was extremely tender and stiff but got a bit better, now after one month, the pain/aching/stiffness in my knees is worse than before the injections. I am not sure that I will get another if this is the result.

I've had great results, much less pain and more mobility in the knee. It works great for me with only a little discomfort for the first 2 to 3 days. Ice and ibuprofen give all the relief I need and the upside is worth that little bit of discomfort.

I am updating my review I previously posted. I went from bad to worse after the single Synvisc One injection in each knee. I ended up in ER 3 times as my knees got worse with pain and swelling. On the second visit, they removed 40 ccs of fluid from my knee to test it for infection. Testing was normal. No infection. They sent me home on crutches because I could barely walk. 2 days later I was back in ER because the pain was excrutiating and I couldn't walk at all. I was admitted to the hospital, put on pain meds and leg pumps to keep the blood in my legs circulating. All the testing in the world was done because the doctors did not want to believe it was caused by the shots. All my blood work and everything came back normal. Finally, they put me on a 6 day prednisone pack, drained a total of 115 ccs of fluid off my right knee and 78 ccs of fluid off my left knee and gave me 40 ccs of cortisone in each knee. The doctor admitted this was an auto immune response to the shots. He was shock. Said it only happens in 1-11% of patients and he had never seen it before. He said, "we won't be doing this again." No we won't. He just doesn't know if it is the chemical makeup of the drug or the amount given all at once. I used 5-part Supartz before with a lot of success. The drug is administered in 5 shots spread out over 5 weeks. Insurance wouldn't cover it this time. They would only approve Synvisc One. So after three days in the hospital, I am finally home on steroids, pain meds and walking, though using a walker. All I can say is do your research before taking this drug. You might be one of the 11%. Don't risk it, there are too may options. My insurance company paid out the nose for this, but I paid an even greater price. Read More Read Less
