Went from 80 degree curvature to nearly normal. At time of injections had severe bruising and swelling. Went away in a few days. Three injection times separated by several weeks.

Although my pinkie finger is straight, it is still black and blue, painful. My Palm is still bruised, all this this after 5 weeks. I would never have this procedure again Dr. Eaton, who has retired, did Needle Aponeurotomy (NA), no cutting, it is done with needles, no pain and did one hand one day and the other hand the next day. Never any pain. He was the only one doing this procedure in U.S....

HAD MY MIDDLE FINGER AND PINKY IN MULTIPLE SPOTS INJECTED WITH THE NEEDLE HAD NO IDEA THAT IT WOULD HURT THAT MUCH, THE STABBING AND MOVING THE NEEDLE AROUND WAS A DIFFERENT KIND OF PAIN. COULD NOT USE MY LEFT HAND FOR 2 DAYS LOTS OF SWELLING AND BRUISING I DEFINITELY SUGGEST USING ICE AS SOON AS YOU CAN TAKE THE ICE BEING ON YOUR HAND 4 DAYS LATER PRETTY GOOD, ALREADY HAVE MOVEMENT THAT I DID NOT HAVE PREVIOUSLY. SEEMS LIKE ITS WORKING I WAS ALSO SUPPOSED TO HAVE THIS DONE FOR PERRONES IN 8 WEEKS ABSOLUTLY NO WAY WOULD I WANT THAT PAIN DOWN THERE. NOT DOING IT....PLAN BRead More Read Less

I had the injections into the nodules, The next day doctor could not break them up also no black and bluing. Finger straightened a little. Wore a night brace for 6 weeks. It was a waste of time. Since then a friend of my wife had the same procedure and the same results.

My pinky finger had contracted almost 90 degrees and I could no longer play guitar and had trouble putting on gloves. I would have chosen to live with it if surgery was the inky option. I got the injection which is admittedly uncomfortable. The discomfort was considerable for 24 hours. When I went in two days later for the extension procedure, my finger was already straight and required nothing further besides the splint and exercises. After considering and rejecting surgery, this was miraculous.Read More Read Less

CONGENITAL CURVATURE (READ THIS) I have a curve. I've had it, at least, since my teens. I think I developed it from my boner always going left in my jeans from high-school to adulthood. You know, when you're in HS and have a boner 24/7. I don't have Peyronie's. You may not have Peyronie's. Peyronie's is not simply curvature. It's a specific kind of curvature caused by an injury and requires a palpable plaque for diagnosis. I went to two urologists. The second, more specialized one was too real with me. He essentially said that there's NOTHING CAN BE DONE. He said that penises are too sensitive and complicated to correct (other than Peyronie). He said doctors are not yet skilled and restructuring penises. That sucked to hear. He literally told me I can't do anything about it but accept it, which suck because it's a legitimate curve, it's getting worse, and I can feel it. In fact, I also can't feel it. My dick is numb where it curves. It's so uncomfortable but this Dr acted like I was whining just because he is powerless to help me. I did not do xiaflex because I have no plaque, just a curve.Read More Read Less

I had the XIAFLEX injection Sept. 13th 2021. 6 months and two weeks later I was released. It was a horrible experience, very very painful nothing short of torture! I now have only partial use of my doment right hand and the skin on my ring finger is damaged for life. I will have to use medical grade honey and a band aid for life. I can no longer write my name and have to use a signature stamp to sign my name! Now all my fingers are stiff and cannot be bent only slightly. If you are thinking about going the injection route..DO NOT DO IT!!! Did I mention it cost me thousands of dollars in co-pays and my 20% injection cost was $1000.00! It was a nightmare! John G. First off, the injection to induced erection failed so the Doctor didn't even see the degree of curvature. Part of my plaque was easily felt and easy to find for injections. Oddly, he would use 2 different amounts, 2 different size syringes/needles for the 2 injection series. He had a nurse in the room for training even though I told him I wasn't comfortable with this. After 2 rounds (4 injections) it was obvious the drug was having no effect. I did have some moderate pain during those injection and severe pain hours later. Mild bruising/swelling. My 3rd round of injections the Doctor told me the Nurse would administer the last one. I told him NO. He did it anyways. Severe pain during injection and I could feel that she was injecting outside the plaque. Hours later I had level 10 pain, swelling and bruising in penis and into my scrotum and lower abdomen. My call to his office was met with "Don't worry. It's normal." although it was nothing like the other injections. End up with massive hematoma, 30 degree right bend turned into 55 degree curve right and upwards and now has two hinges making penetration impossible. My penis changed colors and lost 2 inches length and an inch in girth. The Doctor's response: "Sorry. You'll need to get implants".Read More Read Less

Do not use this. I'm 49. I had curvature of about 35% and should have just left it alone. Instead, I panicked. My urologist said it wouldn't get better, but it could definitely get worse. Starting in June 2021, I had two injections in one week every 6 weeks. The injections are very painful despite a local anesthetic. The side effects are as advertised -- pain, swelling, itching, etc. -- but they dissipate after a few days. I did the stretching exercises religiously. I didn't notice any improvement over the first three sets of injections. It was after the fourth that I experienced a severe hourglass shape to my penis. It got very wide just below the head and then very thin on the bottom third of it. This was never mentioned to me before I started treatment. Nor was the fact that I would lose a significant amount of length and width. I lost approximately two inches and half of my normal width. Additionally, the much thinner shaft and base feels fragile, like it could easily fracture during intercourse. To say my girlfriend was disappointed is an understatement. She and I went from being very satisfied to her disappointed and me in full depression. Size does matter. I had very high hopes for this. Waste of thousands of dollars, excruciating pain and worse embarrassment then when I started treatment. I went from a very confident lover to unable to perform. Read More Read Less

Find a doctor with plenty of experience. I only needed one cycle (two injections) and went from 40 to less than 10 degrees. Of course there was some pain! Duh! But they use numbing meds for the injections. No pain meds except I used some Tylenol PM. I was concerned with the bruising for a couple of days but it went away. The exercises were not a problem and made the difference. Doc said it was a remarkable recovery. The chemically induced erection was more annoying than the injections! I almost cancelled when after reading some of these reviews. If needed, be sure to ask for help in paying the cost. I went to a Univ. of California teaching hospital for treatment which was a good choice. Not every med works the same for every person. Find a doctor you trust.Read More Read Less

Horrible experience. Had three surgeries which eventually regressed, surgeon recommended trying xiaflex. Injections were extremely painful, he managed to partially straighten two fingers but ruptured my skin during a medieval straightening procedure. Regression was almost immediate despite splinting and exercising. Total waste of money, very painful and accomplished nothing.

I wish I had never done this treatment. My angle of curve was about 60 degrees near the head of my penis. I went through the complete treatment course of 8 injections and followed the instructions of stretching. I experienced serve pain with each injection. On the 2nd round of injections a huge hematoma formed. My MD said that was good and normal. He kept telling me he could feel the plaque breaking up. I never saw nor felt any difference. I now have the 60 degree curve towards the base of my penis and there is a hard substance under the skin from the base up about 2 inches on the top side. If there is a class action against this I will be one of the 1st to sign up!Read More Read Less

I had Xiaflex for a treatment of Dupuytrens contracture in 3 fingers. I found it VERY painful compared to needle aponeurotomy (NA) which I have had multiple times. The recurrence of my disease after Xiaflex was much quicker than after NA. The cost of Xiaflex is exorbitant. I do not recommend this treatment.

Absolutely horrible drug. A huge waste of money and actually made me much worse. The pain is excruciating and If I could go back I would have just went straight to surgery. This is a horrible disease and men who have it are doing all they can to not end their lives. They are preying on the vulnerable and desperate. One review states they hope there is a class action lawsuit. I am in agreement with that. I would discourage anybody even though they are as desperate as I have been. I jumped right in because I felt hopeless. Please absolutely consider the reviews that people have left before doing it. I have done 6 injections. 3 cycles and am scheduled for a 4th cycle but am most likely going to cancel. To all of the men like me, I know how you feel.Read More Read Less

I'm a 78 year old, healthy male who has had D.P. for well over ten years. Took the injection in August of 2021. Quite painful but quick. Results: nothing. No swelling, bruising, and the following week the doctor was unable to break the cord. Decided to go for surgery.
