On September 12, 2017 I received a Prevnar 13 shot in my left arm and a flu shot in my right arm at the same time. Within an hour after receiving the shot I had severe pain in my left and right arm. The shot was administered almost to the top of my shoulder. I'm thinking this might have been part of the problem. I had Prevnar 12 the year before with no side effects to speak of. I could not li...

I received the Prevnar 13 shot 10 days ago - slight fever and extreme limitation of movement in arm where shot was given. Now I still have pain and limited movement in this arm - so frustrating to deal with. This is the last pneumonia shot for me.

I got the shot due to having RA and have a suppressed immune system, I got the shot 4 days ago now and have a very swollen arm and red welts at the injection site with a hard lump and the pain and burning are severe. I spent two days with ice packs on my arm and taking pain mess just to cope with the amount of pain, I give my self shots weekly for the RA no stranger to needles, I am due to have the Pneumonia 23 shot in 12 weeks not sure I am going to do that one on top of a flu shot in a couple weeks. I can't imagine how little ones feel getting this shot! Read More Read Less

Three days after getting this shot, I got so sick that I had to go to the ER. I had the most horrible cough and shortness of breath. The chest xray showed no pneumonia but I did have a breathing treatment. Visited my doctor and he said he was surprised it wasn't pneumonia and that I was very sick. I am just getting over it now and it is a week. Still having some cough, but feel I don't need an inhaler anymore. Lost 3 pounds also. It just seems so coincidental that I got so sick after getting this shot. Never again!Read More Read Less

Received shot 8 days ago. Since then have a growing red welt going down my arm from the injection site. Each day welt gets a little bit larger. Now about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. Doctor prescribed 25 mg antihistamine every 6 hours but it seems to have no effect. First time I have had such a reaction to a vaccine.
