I have been on this medication for approximately 6 weeks. I have tried several other cholesterol meds but nothing worked and I had extreme joint pain while on the other meds. After one month, my cholesterol dropped from 260 to 140. My tri dropped from 390 to 240. My dr also had me take 5000 units of Vitamin D one week prior to starting the Livalo and continuing for two weeks after I started th...

My doctor started me on 2mg Livalo about seven weeks ago. No side effects of any kind. I don't take any other medication. Price is an issue but I have coupons from my doctor that limits a 30-day supply to $25. For now I will stick with it. Blood test at 6th week came back with good results (haven't seen the details yet.)

My internist put me on Livalo after an extremely high cholesterol count was noted. Three weeks later I tested and there was a dramatic drop in my numbers. I have no side effects whatsoever. I have been taking cholesterol drugs for 10 years and have never felt as good as on this one.

I HAD TO STOP THREE OTHER STATINS BECAUSE OF MUSCLE PAIN. I STARTED LIVOLO A MONTH AGO, SO FAR SO GOOD. HOWEVER. MY DOCTOR ADVISED TO KEEP TAKING IT FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS MORE AND THEM HE WILL CHECK FROM LIVER ENZYMES, A LIPID PROFILE AND KIDNEY FUNCTIONS TO SEE IF ITS WORKING FOR ME. I HOPE SO.

i am all good for the first month on this drugs no side effects as i had with other 2 statin drugs before. the test result came back with lower on Total Cho, Trig and LDL but HDL still kind of the same as last year, but i don't know my HDL may have dropped lower. anyway, i am into my 2nd month and i amd starting to feel the weakness and pain on my legs, so after some research i decided to take CoQ10 100mg to help out with the pain. there are many claims from users and company that CoQ10 would benefit for those that on statin drugs. wish me luck, the company claimed that i would see some positive results in few weeks. i hope it go by fast because it is too painful for me to drive anywhere.Read More Read Less

I have been on this drug for just over 2 months. I had a headache for the first few days but it quit. My Dr. put me on the 2mg pills, they have less side effects. So far so good, but I haven't had my blood work done yet. I did find out if you don't have insurance, you can get a card from livalo so you only have to pay $25.00 per month. That works for me! Plus no really bad side effect like I had with crestor, lipitor, welchol, and prevastantin. This may be a keeper!

Within 4 days, I experienced pains in my legs and arms as well as fatigue and sleepiness. The first two days I took the medication, I slept for 48 hrs.

First week was rough. Had stomach flu like symptoms, head ache but second week symptoms seem to have stabilized. I'll give it one more week before I go back for blood test.

This was the last statin for me to try. The first couple doses seemed ok. After the third I was having muscle aches, my urinary tract felt uncomfortable when I urinated. I get a metallic taste in my mouth that I have heard no one else mention. I also thought I was coming down with a cold, but I read nasopharyngitis is a symptom also. I stayed off it 3 days and took one more. The aches came back and the cold symptoms got worse and the urinary discomfort came back. I don't think I will be able to tolerate this statin anymore than the others. I have taken it for 3 days, off for 3 days and took a 4th pill on day 7. I skipped tonight.Read More Read Less

I have now been on this med for a month. So far so good. I had headaches for the first week to 10 days, but not anymore. The Dr. lessen the dose from 4mg to 2 mg. I have had no muscle problems like the last 4 meds, no dizziness, and I make sure to drink plum smart everyday and so far no bowel problems. Maybe this one will be a keeper!

HAVE ONLY TAKEN THE MEDICINE FOR A FEW DAYS, ALREADY HAVING MUSCLE CRAMPS AND THE HEADACHES HAVE STARTED. HEADACHE IS CONSTANT. WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TOLERATE THIS MEDICATION. SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AS WITH THE OTHER 5 OR 6 STATINS I'VE TRIED.

I have only been on this medicine for one week. So far so good. I had to stop taking the last 3 meds after one week or less. I have had a little head ache since taking this med, not big enough to take anything but it is constant. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Well, had to stop taking medication. Made my legs ache. The pain I had with other medication(s) was my upper/arm limbs and this medication bothers my lower limbs. Can't win for losing.

After 3 days on this medicine I developed extreme pain in my body, (elevating at bedtime, when I lay down, the pain is throbbing severely) I then started getting headaches, and extreme sore throat. Lately, the severe pain has been in my kidneys and lower back. I take Hyaluronic Acid that helps the pain tremendously. If I miss a dose, the pain is unbearable. I will call my doctor to report the pain and side effects. Not what I want to take for long term. After 2 days off the medicine, I don't hurt so bad. I have tried every other day and every 2 days, but the pain and headache is still a problem.Read More Read Less

I've only been taking it for 2 weeks but it appears to be doing good things. My blood pressure is in the normal range for the first time in 4 years! It "may" be responsible for my waking after 3 hours of sleep and then having trouble getting back to sleep. Not sure about this yet!!
