Withdrew from Avodart and began a course of Jalyn. Experienced improved urine flow rates within 2 days of first use.

I am a recent user. So my evaluation addresses only its immediate effect of aiding the flow but not the long-term effect of reducing the prostate dimension. It is an expensive medicine, apparently manufactured in Germany. Does anyone know of an alternative medicine, made in the USA and cheaper?

No prostate shrinking after 6 months. The muscle relaxant ingredient does make it easier to initiate flow, but I don't see any other benefits yet. Causes dizziness and back pain.

I've been taking the drug for 9 months and have had no improvement. My Dr. says keep taking it.I did not realize why I would get light head upon standing until I read the above comments.

62 years old, has reduced night visits from 3to4 to 1 or none. Has reduced ability to obtain erection & lowered sex drive. Have been on for 3 months, started to have problems with joints (especially burning knees and back pain, and some breathing). Have concerns with interactions with other meds. Medication is priced to high and not covered undered Medicare. Overall I don't know if I will Continue due to side effects. You should in my opinion stay it close contact with your doctor at least every 90 days. Remember there is a chance however slight that this drug can cause a more severe form of cancer. ALWAYS Read the information no matter how long and always wright down other meds you are taking with times and amounts when going for followups! I'm having bloodwork done every 6 months due to the cancer issue. Read More Read Less

Cured urination problems, getting up hourly, weak stream, urgency, frequency, etc. Sexual side effects have to much impact to continue, no drive, no erection, etc.

Had been on Flomax or generic equal for couple of years with continued weak stream and usual sexual side effects. Dr. put me on Jalyn, worked better but, I believe caused severe headaches (I NEVER got headaches before). Just switched back to tamsulosin and headaches have gone away. Weak stream has not come back.....yet.

JALYN induced partial paralysis in my right arm muscles after using for two weeks as did another type of prostrate medication one year ago which dissipated - but JALYN has not started to dissipate for three months after stopping it's use! My doctor has no explanation for these occurrences - now I'm left with a very weak right arm! What can I do to regain the use of my right arm? Someone please help....many thanks!!
