has worked very well so far

I was suffering with a grossly enlarged Prostate, over a year ago. As of last visit Prostate is now normal size. I take the medication along with Flomax. Only effect is a decrease in semen.

I really don't know how much this drug is helping with my prostate. I have been taking it for about a year now. One side effect is sore nipples. I am also taking Terazosin. I feel more confortable taking the Terazosin than the fanasteride

New user. Seemed to help late nite trips to bathroom almost immediately.

It helps to reduce nighttime bathroom visit to one.

The drug is more effective in reducing frequent urination and improving flow than the previous prescription I was using, but my sex drive has been reduced greatly. Worse yet, I have also had some occasional scrotal and penile pain and tenderness, and am in process of switching to flomax.

Since starting drug in my BPH therapy I have found that the side effects far outweigh the benefits. Regarding the frequent urination at night, I have slowed down from 3-5 to 1-3. However the prostrate has continued to enlarge in each of the last three visits, but not by much. The side effects of the lost sex drive, inability to hold an erection, or even get one and the little or no semen, seems to me a heavy price to pay for so far the feeble benefits. On my next visit I am requesting a review of this drug with the doctor to either increase the dosage to see if that will increase the benefits or remove the drug from my therapy.Read More Read Less

70 yrs old, feel like 50, except for loss of sex drive. What are side effects if stopped taking drug. Do not take any other meds.

LOST SEX DRIVE AND LITTLE OR BO SEMEN,ALSO TAKEN FLOMAX, AS OF THIS DATE STOPED USING BOTH

I was using continuously for more than six months. No side effects. I stopprd only a month back. At times I feel as if I am getting relapsed. Pl.enlighten me whether it is safe to resume it back

just started this drug, within a short time started getting sever lower back pain, did cut back on night visits to bathroom, but still go frequently during the day.sex drive is just about nothing and when it does happen it is real quick.

Relieved BPH symptoms but produced impotence

I am still using the bathroom at night as I did before taking this medication.. Plus I have light headedness, and fatigue

The medicine served its intended purpose, but the side effects weren't explained. They are inability to sustain an erection, somewhat diminished sexual desire and very little semen production. In my opinion this is a high price to pay. I wish there was an alternative.

My nightime trips to the bathroom were reduced from three to one, however my sex life has been reduced to a big ZERO,NADA,NoNE.........
