I had a very serious cough which caused me to almost cough my head off at night. I was congested and my nose was pouring mucous. This medication dried my sinuses up and stopped me from coughing at night. I really was glad my doc prescribed this for me.

My script is two teaspoonful every 3 hours it works within 15 minutes and lasts 2 hours and 20 minutes (like clock work) before I start coughing again. However, I do sleep fairly well at night when I take it right before bed.

I've read all the comments about the taste, and it's not that bad. I've certainly had worse. I'd says DayQuil or Nyquil is worse. As far as the reactions of making people vomit, abdominal pain, etc. Those symptoms are different for everyone, and may have just been an allergic reaction. So far it's worked better than others.

While this medicine stopped my cough and urge to cough soon after taking, it only lasted 4 hours so I had to get up in the middle of the night to take again. Still, four hours of sleep at a time is better than what I had been getting, so I'll take it. But it is pretty amazing that the label says to take it every 4-6 hours as needed and it lasts exactly 4 hours for me. Tastes bad; have a cracker ready to eat!

I have used this before and it didn't work then. This time though, my throat and stomach hurt from coughing and I had not had sleep for a couple nights so I had nothing to lose to try it again, only this time I took it with a advil cold and sinus, and phew it worked wonders, no runny nose and no cough!!!!!! How sweet is that?????

I took the dose prescribed to me and within a half an hour I was violently ill... my cough had actually worsened and I started to vomit. I did not sleep a wink!!! Tossed and turned ALLLLL night. The next day I felt worse than before I took it. I thought it looked too watery for a cough "syrup" so I called my Dr to make sure the pharmacy gave me the correct medication. They said they did...? Tastes horrible and I will NEVER use again. What a waste of $!!!!

I have not had good luck with this drug. My cough is terrible and even with the drug I am coughing violently. Last night, after extensive research about drug interactions, I took 30 ml of Nyquil Cold/Flu and 1 tablet (1/2 dose) of Sudafed. I slept soundly until 9:22 this morning.

I had been coughing so badly that I couldn't sleep, but when I took this medicine I slept like a baby all night, and my coughing was greatly diminished. It worked very well!
