Using Emoquette for birth control has really worked for me. The first time I let my boyfriend ejaculate inside of me without a spermicide condom was a bit scary, but after having a negative result with a urine pregnancy test and having my period on the week of the inactive pills made me feel more confident about trusting the pills. Sometimes I forget to take the pill and end up taking it 3 hours a...

The pharmacy switched me from Reclipsen to Emoquette without my or my Doctor's notification or approval. After the first 2 weeks on Emoquette I had chest pains, dizziness, nausea. It got so bad I went to the E.R. thinking I was having a heart attack. The drug also gives me headaches. It seems some packets are 'ok', the side effects are milder. The current pack I am on wears me out with the nausea,...

I'm officially DONE with this BC. I was on it for almost a year and I had 3 periods every single month that were heavy and annoying! My doctor didn't believe it was the BCs fault, got an ultrasound and everything was great reproductive wise. She finally switched me to Daysee and all the migraines, cramps, nausea and NON STOP PERIODS, stopped by day 6 of the new pills! Emoquette is the worst!

This drug definitely has its pros and cons... I originally went on the pill to help treat my acne and when I first started my acne did not improve. As a matter of fact, it got much worse. However, after a little research I found that this was a common side effect of many birth controls because it takes the body a few months to adjust to the changing hormone levels. I am now finishing my third pack and my skin is finally starting to clear up! I couldn't be happier! And wow this pill really makes your boobs grow. Within four weeks I went from barely being an A-cup to being a full blown C-cup! ...In all, I would recommend this pill. My only word of advice is to have patience; to see my face break out was very frustrating but now my clear skin and big boobs have left me with no regrets.Read More Read Less

I don't know what everyone else is complaining about, this pill isn't so bad. I'm an 18y/o non-smoker, and I just finished my first pack of Emoquette, and although the start was a little rocky (I've never taken bc before), I'm doing much better now. In the beginning, I became irritable and tired occasionally (this was bad for the first three or four days) and my depression came back for a few days as well, but both have gone. As of now, I get a cramp from time to time, nothing prolonged but they can be painful, acne has increased a bit but extra scrubbing with Clearasil fixes that, my period hasn't started yet and I'm nearing the end of the green pills, discharge has increased slightly, and I have an odd, oval-shaped nickel-sized rash of scaly red skin on my right collarbone, near the center of my chest. It's been there since about day two, I've decided to call it Louise. (jk) In all seriousness though, I think the rash and the depression was about the worst I've gotten while on this pill. Sure, it's a bit of a list, but the worst seems to have passed, and considering what this pill is and what it does, the side effects aren't so bad compared to other pills. And it does its job, so I'm okay with it. Though I will look into treatment for "Louise" when I have time. (; Also-- There's a leaflet on Emoquette included with info that says side effects may be worse at the start, but fade. So if you're just starting Emoquette and feel terrible, just give it time and you should feel better. After all, you ARE tampering with one of the most important cycles in your body, resistance is probable.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Emoquette for 6 weeks now to treat my endometriosis. It has definitely worked as far as taking the pain away, but the side effects are unpleasant. I have daily headaches that last for hours, and I am extremely emotional. I have cried nearly every day for the past few weeks over nothing. It has increased my appetite and made me gain a few lbs. At first the nausea was horrible, and although I still deal with that some, it has gotten better. Not sure if a perfect birth control exists, but I would rather deal with the side effects of the pill than the daily pain I was experiencing. Read More Read Less

I was on Alesse for about 8 months without an problems then I slowly started gaining weight and began to experience acne so I was put on Emoquette. Horrible! After only 4 days of taking it I noticed a huge emotional difference. I began to be short tempered, very irritable, isolate myself and began with depression. I stuck it out for 3 weeks but couldn't handle it anymore so I switched to something else.

This is the worst birth control pill I have ever taken. I haven't found the perfect bc for me yet so my doctor tried me on this one. First of all i have never had ridiculous amounts of acne until this pill. Never had acne on my back until this pill..and it's not just one or two..it's a solid 25 pimples covering my back. I went from having a 4 day period to a full 7 days period. I did gain a couple of pounds for the short amount of time I was on it..which is frustrating. The main reason for me getting off this pill was because it caused me between 2 and 3 migraines every week. They were so bad that I couldn't even function when I had one. This is definitely an awful pill!!!Read More Read Less

This is the worst birth control in existence. If you're taking the other Desogen generics and you suddenly get this in your pharmacy bag do not say "Oh, well I guess it's the same." It's not. I don't know how this got approved by the FDA. I went through one month of the pack and I have completely lost my appetite. I tried to eat some soup today but couldn't keep it down. I made a HUGE mistake and took the pill without thinking on an empty stomach and have been sick all night and I haven't eaten in two days. Also I havent gotten my period yet and I'm two weeks late. Four negative pregnancy tests and no pregnancy symptoms (I didnt miss any pills). I have terrible mood swings and this is the only change in my life in the past week. If your body is sensitive and you know it pretty well I'd avoid this at all costs because it has driven me crazy. I kept thinking I could be pregnant or have a thyroid issue which made me depressed and miserable. Plus I have acne. AND BACKNE. Yes acne on my back. Never happened in my entire life before now. All in one week. I've been on three other types of birth control before and this is the ONLY one that I've had ANY side effects. I'm so nauseous right now but I had to put up a review in case there's someone like me who might be having the same symptoms. Read More Read Less

My doctor for some reason switched me over from Reclipsen to Emoquette and my experience has been bad so far. I've had extremely bad headaches since I started taking it. The last week of the active pills was the worst! I had soreness in my breasts and my stomach was constantly churning and felt acidic. I also was getting cramps and none of this ever happened with Reclipsen. I'm asking my doctor to switch me back to Reclipsen! Emoquette is not worth it. The pills also have a strange plastic taste to them as the packaging is poor. Read More Read Less

I have been taking emoquette for approximately 4 months. Now remember, this review is based on how my body is reacting to it. The cons: I would get headaches for a week every time I started a fresh pack, gained weight (due to the fact that my appetite increased dramatically like I was eating for 2!)horrible breakouts, terrible water gain during periods and complete exhaustion every day just like a ran a marathon. Pros: Preventing pregnancy. I have taken almost every brand of birth control pill on the market and based on my bodies reactions, my doctor is taking me off of it.Read More Read Less

I take it to help with my PCOS so I can actually get my period. It is amazing, since without it, I would go about 3 to 4 months without my period and it would be irregular without it.

I started taking Emoquette 3 weeks ago after my postpardum appointment. It has been an absolute nightmare!! I have constant headaches, nausea, no energy, acne when I have NEVER broke out before, and I have an appetite like a teenage boy. Also I have had crazy mood swings and been very depressed. To top that it gave me a horrible yeast infection! I dont have time for all this with a 2 year old and a 2 month old! DO NOT TAKE IT!

It's an oral pill so it can be hard to remember to take it sometimes, but I set a silent alarm on my phone that goes off each night to remind me. Overall, my experience has been a good one. I have less painful and predictable periods and my skin is clearer than before. This is my 4th method of BC and is definitely the best so far.

I do not have a prescription for this awful BC, but my pharmacy keeps on giving it to me. I hate it. Hitting the fourth month now and I have bled every single day and I am going through tampons like crazy. I lost my appetite completely and don't even eat anymore. I lost 15 pounds and I'm down to 105. I'm always nauseous and I'm pretty sure since I'm bleeding every single day, with tons of clots, I am anemic. Still trying to settle the dispute with my pharmacy, but till then I guess I will continuously BLEED to death. I can't even live my life on these. Migraines, vomiting, cramps, 24/7. I'm sick of it. And I'm a complete bitch. My sex life sucks, because I'm always on my period, and it's getting hard for my relationship to be okay because of how moody it makes me. If I accidentally forget to take a pill(latest was 12 hours late), I will bleed very very heavy with crippling cramps.Read More Read Less

I have been on over 10 different birth control pills; and with the exception of Yasmin it has the least side effects. No weight gain, breakouts, mood swings or fatigue. It sometimes gives me an upset stomach but I take it before I go to sleep to alleviate this. All and all i give it an A +. I was on Orthocept 2 months ago and I was a raving lunatic and getting breakouts like a teenager; I'm 37. I know everyone is different, but this bc is great for me.

When I started this medication, I had spotting, but nothing abnormal. I also was fatigued often, but my doctor said it was most likely because of the blood loss from spotting. After I started taking iron supplements I felt much better. I've had minimal other side effects. Overall, it's been easy to remember to take.
