I just started taking this pill and now that I know after reading some reviews that I'm not going crazy!! I have terrible nausea, bloating, and my emotions can change in the span of a half a second -- I can go from being okay to just completely bitter and rude to crying uncontrollably the next. I hate it. I thought there was something wrong with me. I've stopped immediately. I just want a pill whe...

I have been really happy with this birth control! Weight gain was always a fear of mine with being on the pill, but I have had no trouble actually losing weight while on this one. My skin has improved (I drink tons of water too!) and my former moodiness has eased. The only downsides are slight drop in sex drive and a little bit of upset stomach in the first month. Def worth giving it a shot.

NEVER TAKE LORYAN! I exercise every day, eat a low-sodium diet and do everything possible to control my weight as to avoid Runner's knee pain. I've had great success. Since I started taking Loryna I've: gained 8 lbs - even though I'm now starving to death!, have horrible knee pain (from xtra wgt,), crazy water retention, & mood swings - Grew horns & cleared the house on Thxgvg :-(. If that wasn't bad enough, I'm constipated, exhausted, and after avoiding acne issues all my life, I'm plagued with a freakish case of pimples! This is the worse BC I've ever taken. I'm going back on Yaz so I can get my life back!Read More Read Less

I started taking Loryna because my pharmacy was out of Gianvi (generic YAZ). I have great skin and after 2 weeks I started to break out around my chin/mouth area. I feel like a basket full of crazy emotions. I know the doctor said it is a generic Yaz, but I feel the difference from taking Gianvi. I have constant headaches and mood swings. I do not recommend this brand.

Im in my third week with Loryna and so far only 1 pimple but not sure if it was from it yet. Too soon to tell. No mood swings no bleeding or spotting so far. Way better than Beyaz. Beyaz use to make me have very irregular periods and spottings;( Loryna reminds me a lot like Yaz. Just too bad the bayer card doesnt cover it anymore. Ill post future updates on how i am with Loryna!;)

I have been on this for 5 months and it is great no acne, mood swings, or weight gain in fact a little bit of weight loss. The only thing wrong with this pill is that my period was absent for 2 months but then it was regular. so far so good and it is better than Gianvi.

I have been on Gianvi for awhile and loved it. Recently received Loryna from CVS and after 4 days of taking it, I have severe breakouts. I stopped taking it immediately and am switching back to Gianvi. Steer clear!!!

For the love of all that is holy, STEER CLEAR LADIES. Worst birth control experience of my life. I have tried several over the last few years, and wanted to return to Yaz as I had a really good experience on it before, but my insurance was going to charge $68 A MONTH, so I was given the generic Loryna (for $5). Within 2 weeks of being on it I got the most horrible, painful yeast infection (not prone to them, have only ever had one brief mild one a long time ago). My doctor put me on diflucan/fluconozole and it wouldn't go away. She ended up extending my prescription to 2 weeks and I was still so uncomfortable—it wasn't working, my body couldn't re-establish my PH balance. I went on the Candida diet (no sugar, yeast, carbs, etc.) but nothing worked. I also started getting horrible headaches, definitely lowered sex drive (also due to the yeast infection), vaginal dryness, and extreme emotional mood swings. When I started crying for NO REASON at all, I said that's it. I called the advice nurse and she said to stop taking it. As soon as I did my whole body felt amazing—like I'd been release from some poison. The yeast infection went away and all the other side effects. I know everyone has different chemical makeups, but trust me on this. DO NOT TRY IT. Read More Read Less

I've suffered from mild acne for years now and finally visited my doctor about it. She prescribed yaz but I recieved loryna, the generic version, from the pharmacy. I've been on this pill for a week and my skin has gotten significantly worse, with annoying red pimples all over my forehead, an increase in blackheads on my nose and forehead, and cystic acne on my cheeks and chin.

I haven't had a breakout in years, within a week of starting Loryna I had actual acne cysts that left pockmarks. I've never had an acne cyst in my life!

Okay the birth control works, but like the other reviewers even after less than a month on Loryna--horrible breakouts, emotional mood swings, lowered sex drive, just do not feel like myself. Definitely going to have to spring the extra cash to go back to the Yaz brand name. I know in theory generic brands are supposed to be the same thing, but they just simply aren't.

I decided to use Loryna for both birth control and to help clear up my acne. It definitely is did not help my acne at all. And I have become an emotional mess... It will effect all people differently but it didn't work very well for me...

I have used the brand name version of this BC for years but can no longer afford it. Pharmacist first offered Gianvi as a generic alternative, then switched to Loryna, saying they were all the same. Ever since starting Loryna I have had vaginal infections, weight gain (5 pounds), and acne. I stopped midpack and my period has not returned in two months. Continuing to gain weight and break out. When starting and stopping the brand name (have done Yasmin and Yaz on and off for a combined 3 years), cycle returned immediately, no side effects. Loryna looks to be new because I can't find any info on it. Have an awful feeling it will be recalled for insufficient research. Glad to stop BC altogether, but praying for no accidents.Read More Read Less

So far since i switched over to loryan I've gained the most weight, i have been on birthcontrol for roughly 2 years and on loryna for roughly 3 months. The pill works, but the weight gained since taking it is to me unacceptable if I can take other pills and not get this side effect. I am small, but so far this has made me gain weight to the point of light small stretch marks on my legs.
