NuvaRing gave me hormonal hot flashes, and I found it hard to take my Loestrin 24 Fe at the same time every day, so I decided to try Nexplanon. I am a 23 year old college graduate, and I am 3 weeks into my Nexplanon. Granted, it hasn't been long, but my experience so far is AMAZING. The process of placing the implant was easy and fairly painless. It is taking my arm a little time to heal from the incision. I have not experienced any adverse reactions as of yet (it's only been 2 weeks). I love the idea that I do not have to remember to take my pill everyday, failure will not be due to my forgetfulness. I would definitely recommend this form of birth control to everyone.

I have had mine in for alllllmost 2 months now (it will be 2 months on the 18th of june) and I am pretty sure I didn't get my period for the rest of April and then in May, I started spotting and I am not quite sure when the spotting started but I am sure it started in May sometime, but NOW, it is like I have my period and that started this past saturday (june 8th) so I'm hoping the bleeding will stop after 7-10 days, has anyone else had the pretty similar situation with the nexplanon?????

Ladies, I want to make sure all of you know that birth control works differently with every woman, and most reviews online are from negative experiences, for I was so nervous to get this inserted because of all the negativity I found in online reviews. Here's how my experience has been so far: the only pain was the numbing for it, bruising only lasted two weeks, itching only a few days, extremely clear skin, no breakthrough bleeding or spotting, no mood swings, pain, headaches or nausea, bigger boobs. I'm in love. Don't believe every negative review you read.Read More Read Less

I thought this was a super easy from of birth control. That being said, I hated it. I had it in for ten months, and I gained 40 pounds in that time. I also felt nauseous at least 10 times a month. I enjoyed not having a period so long, but now after having it removed two months ago I still haven't had one. I'm having PMS symotoms and I have a feeling this period will be horrible. It is very convienent for no pregnancy, but the overall side effects and general feeling in your body while on it, doesn't overcompensate. Read More Read Less

I have been on nexplanon for a month now. At first it was OK. I got my period 7 days after getting it inserted and have not stopped bleeding yet. I was aware that there would be some spotting, but it has been like a full period for 2 weeks. My vagina has become swollen and irritated...not really these side effects..I had done my research before even choosing a birth control..it is good convenient wise, but the side effects are not worth it...thinking about having it removed...

I had this product implanted to control my excessive bleeding/periods. I've experienced a small amount of spotting, but no periods at all since I got the implant 2 month's ago. So far so good. I've experienced none of the other negative symptoms that have been reported by some of the other users on this site. I have no other health problems or depression. It seems to be a very good product so far.

On October 30, 2012 I had the Nexplanon(birth control implant) inserted in my arm. I slowly started to get really bad migraines then 2 weeks who I started to get tingling feeling thought my body and blurry vision (do to the migraines) . I contacted my primary care doctor and she put me on migraine medicine and suggested I take out the implant she feels that it was to many hormones in my body. I made a appointment at the OBGYN for the removal and one of the nurses said more and more young girls are getting them removed do to really bad migraines from to many hormones. When I was in the room for the removal they give you a shot to numb the area. Then they make a little cut, tried to find the implant. The PA had a hard time finding it kept moving and it behind muscle and fat. She had to have help from another PA that was in the room watching. With both of them tag teamed they finally found it and pulled it out. It was a extremely painful process!! In just 6 months i gained 15 pounds with Nexplanon Before considering Nexplanon contact your doctor about other forms of birth control. Read More Read Less

I got the implant in August 2012 and it is now March 2013. The first period I had after the fitting I bled for about 18 days straight. After the bleeding finished I had spotting here and there. Now I have no periods and I'm loving it. I have gained some weight, maybe 15 pounds. It's very convenient, you forget it's there. I have a small scar at the insertion site, but nothing noticeable. I do have mood swings here and there but I'm not sure if it's because of Nexplanon or just my own emotions. It's different for everyone. Try it out, it may work for you! :)Read More Read Less

I like the effectiveness of the birth control. It works really well to prevent pregnancy. However, the side effects are too much. I've been bleeding for almost seven months. I'm always sick. I spend more time trying to make the congestion and upset stomach go away than I do playing with my kids. My depression has become worse. I can barely enjoy time with my family. I don't like the problems it has caused with me. Other than my immune system being screwed up and the constant bleeding, it's a pretty good method of birth control. I just wish I didn't have the problems I am having. I've tried other birth controls and they have done the exact same thing this is doing. So, I guess it's time to remove this thing. I will be having the implant removed coming up within the next few weeks. Have had it for 2 months now, but I'd rather take the pill every day. Area stayed real sore for about 2 weeks after having it inserted, then I bled for about 3 weeks. Since then, haven't had any bleeding, but I've noticed that I put on some weight and here recently my hair has started falling out.

I've had this in for about a month now. I was on the IUD, but I kept bleeding and decided to switch to this. The first week I was bleeding as if it were a regular period. Wasn't a big deal since I was already bleeding, I just noticed that it had gotten heavier. Anyways, after about a week, my period went extremely light, then finally disappeared. I haven't had bleeding since. The injection spot was bruised and tender afterwards. But went a way pretty quickly. I have no complaints with the product at all. It fits what I need . And as a added bonus NO PERIOD! I plan on getting it again in 3 years. If along the way something changes, I will update my comment, but so far, everything is GREAT! Read More Read Less

My doctor recommended this, so had in put in. Light bruising and soreness from the insertion, but that went away within 2 weeks. All was fine for a month but then I started bleeding almost non stop. Also, my skin became super oily, which I never get. So, with the constant bleeding, cramping and breaking out, I'm having it removed in a few weeks. If it wasn't for the side effects, Nexplanon would be perfect. Not for me, turns out.

Started this method to ease my periods and didn't tolerate the IUD. The insertion was quick and my arm was sore and bruised for a couple of weeks. My periods got heavy, lasting 12 days with lots of clots and cramping every 3 weeks. I felt irrational and tearful most of the time. Finally had it removed at 3 months because I couldn't tolerate the heavy bleeding and mood swings.

Love it! I gradually gain about 20 pounds throughout my 3 year usage. I was very concern with the IUD breaking, because the IUD is about the lenght of your pinky and as thin as flexible white tubing. However it didn't and was place in my arm above them elbow. I also had the breast pain, which wasn't to bad. It should be call breast tenderness, because I doesn't hurt to the point you can't function.
