I had Nexplanon inserted about two and a half months ago. I was terrified to get it after reading all the negative reviews about it, but and IUD wasn't an option for me, and I wanted a long-term birth control so I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. Previously, I was on the Nuvaring for several years, and had been using them back-to-back for about 8 months prior to getting Nexplanon ... Show Full Comment

So, I am almost at my 3yr mark with the implanon(old version). At the beginning I had spotting for a significant amount of time, maybe 6 months or so. Low and behold, right when I am at my breaking point of annoyance, it stops. After that, BEST THING EVER! Now at 3 months before my 3 yrs is up, I have a period constantly. It rarely stops and is the most annoying and stupidest side effect on earth! ... Show Full Comment

Since I was 16 I have tried combination pill, depo shot, and Mirena IUD. I have had three successful pregnancies (c-section,VBAC,c-section) in between birth controls, never gotten pregnant on one. Every form of birth control caused weight gain or made it hard to lose weight and moodiness. Mirena practically fell out during an exam, but I was glad as the cramping and depression were rough. After ba ... Show Full Comment

I have been on the Nexplanon for about 4 months, and I am satisfied but at the same time I am not. The 1st month was okay, but toward my 4th month I had a period for 15 days was off for 5 then started right back up again. My cramps are worse than ever before. I have been having a sick feeling at random times of the day. My eating habits have not changed. But my moods have, I'm a lot more crabb ... Show Full Comment

Satisfied in the safe and no remembering aspect, but I was unlucky to have my period for ~5-8 weeks at a time with a 2 week break in between. Had in for all three years due to being how effective it is, but getting used to having my period that often took about a year. I know many girls who don't have their periods at all, so it probably just isn't as compatible with my body as others.
