After putting off 1st colonoscopy until I was nearly 53 from sheer dread of the day-before prep, I'm so thrilled that I did because it allowed the time for Prepopik to be approved in the US. It was the easiest prep I could ever imagine, just 2 five-oz glasses of pleasant citrus-tasting drink at 2 and 8 pm the day before my procedure. They kicked in within an hour each time, each time they led to...

After insurance I paid $118.00 for this prescription. After finding out it only came out in 2012, I started researching it online and discovered as of March 15, 2015 it is manufactured in China. That is according to the actual documents you can find online by searching Prepopik, March 15, made in China. I looked at the outside of the box and it gives the address for the pharmaceutical and it is...

First colonoscopy. Had heard horror stories about other preps (Suprep). This was very easy to use, couldn't drink down in one gulp but was easy only having to drink 5 oz. There really was no taste to the solution. Mixed it with lemonade for the first dose and 7 UP for the 2nd dose. Made sure it was cold. Started the prep at 5:00 p.m. the night before, emptying of bowel started very soon after. Had not eaten any meat in the previous two days, so clean out was easy. By morning was empty but still took 2nd dose at 7:00 a.m. Just got a little sick from drinking all the liquid to go along with prepping, even though I could drink what I wanted, wasn't easy for me to consume that much liquid. My doctor said the clean out was very adequate. Would definitely do this prep again if I ever need this procedure done in the future. Read More Read Less

After reading the reviews I was concerned about the product but I was pleasantly surprised. I had a 7:30 am procedure scheduled and followed the advice of other reviews and started it earlier than the 5 and 10 pm recommended by my doctor. I am very glad that I did. I started at 2 pm and it took about an hour and a half to start working. I finished at about 2:30 am so I will start it earlier next time. I am petite and it worked very well for me. I will use it again.

Worked to clean out bowel, but was extremely dehydrated. After colonoscopy, had muscle and joint pain while sleeping night after procedure, went away after I got up and started moving. The dose is the same for a 130 lb woman and a 200 lb man that may cause a more severe effect on the smaller person.

I was very happy with this prep for a colonoscopy. It's only 2 5-oz. doses of prep. If you drink it down all at once it's not bad. It started working 50 min. after I took it. There were no stomach cramps, etc. associated with it. I noticed drinking a hot beverage after it sort of made it work faster. Also, I ate a "light" breakfast as instructed - 1 scrambled egg and 2 pieces of toast. After the 10 pm dose, I thought I was empty around midnight, but had one more trip to the bathroom around 1 am. My doctor said I did really good with my prep. I'll ask for it the next time...definitely!Read More Read Less

Took the first dose at 5 PM. Followed directions to the letter. Took the second dose at 7 AM the next day. First BM followed 13 hours after first dose. Still formed. Went to hospital for colonoscopy. Was cancelled because the colon was not cleaned out enough. Also, cost $136 out of pocket. Will never use again.

Was much easier to use than the Trilight. Tasted like lemons to me and only 5 oz lots of water anther 5 oz and more water. Cleaned me out with no problems. Will use again.

Took first dose at 4:30 pm having done 2 days of mostly liquid diet (only two pieces of toast day 1 and all liquid day 2). Colonoscopy scheduled for 7:30 am third day. Did not even begin to work at all till 10:30 pm. 2nd dose was at 9:30 pm. I was still going when I got to procedure. And for a few hours AFTER. Would take it again, but at least 3-4 hours earlier. It was easy to swallow, small amount , and fairly gentle. Just SLOW.

This was first time using this for colonoscopy prep. Aside from it tasting awful it didn't clean me out compared to the miralax prep I did previously. It took a long time to kick in and then I was up all night running to bathroom! Dr said she had to flush out my bowels a lot bc I wasent cleaned out! I won't use again and it seems a lot of people have this problem so why keep prescribing it? It's expensive compared to better preps although my ins covered the full amt

Positive: can eat eggs and cheese the day before the procedure Negative: Expensive and did not completely clean me out I did the 2 step process. 4pm day before tool the initial dose followed by five 8 oz glasses of water. Experienced results in 1 1/2 hour and then for the next 8 hours. The next morning at 4:15 took the 2nd dose followed by five glasses of water with NO results whatsoever. Nothing. Called the endoscopy clinic at 7am and they said to come in early for my appointment. I had to have a tap water enema to finish the prep. My colonoscopy was at 10:45am and I was home by 1pm. At 4:00pm I started getting explosive watery stools like the prep started working 8 hours later!Read More Read Less

I has my very first colonoscopy and my doctor prescribed this because I was nervous and he said I wouldn't have to drink as much "gross stuff" with prepopik. I was prescribed to take two dulcolax, a pill for nausea and then drink 5oz of prepopik at 5pm. The drink was much easier than I had anticipated. The taste was fine and it reminded me of alka seltzer. I had a a few BMs within an hour and then it was off and on until about midnight. I also drank more than the recommended dosage of clear liquids just so I could make sure I got cleaned out. Be prepared to drink lots of clear liquid. It made me feel full and gross, but I would be fine 30 mins later. I was shocked that I didn't have to go to the bathroom as much as I thought it would make me. I slept for most of the night. I took my 2nd dose of nausea pills and prepopik at 7:30 am. The second dose definitely cleared out the remainder. I didn't start getting clear bowels until the last two bathroom trips. I was done by 9:30 am and didn't have anymore BMs. My appointment was at 11:30am. My doctor was able to see everything just fine. As a first time user, I definitely recommend prepopik! It was easy to drink and gentle on the stomach. Also, if you are uneasy about getting cleared out like I was after reading negative reviews, definitely drink more clear liquids and drink it all right away. I would use this this again! I was prescribed this for colonoscopy. It took five hours to work. Then my second dose hardly worked at all. Just before my colonoscopy I was still having bowel movements. They had to cancel my procedure. What a waste of time and money. Too slow acting for me

Prepopik is quite easy to use vs at least two other preps I've tried. The taste is good and the amount of fluid you need to drink isn't overwhelming. BUT, the stuff took 4.5 hours to work after the first dose and I barely got rid of anything during the 45 minutes or so that I was in the bathroom. Following the second does the same thing. Plus as good as it tasted, at the second I almost gagged when I went to drink it and couldn't get much water down after that. I think I was fairly clean however. Not sure I'd use this stuff again or at least if I did, I'd be sure to start early in the day rather than at night as prescribed. Read More Read Less

It tasted fine, easy to drink. BUT the cleanout was only "fair" as rated by my Dr. It took 5 hours after drinking before anything happened, and it was nothing definitive, just bits and pieces for hours, which left me exhausted, up all nite, and raw from wiping time after time. And in the morning, got up at 4:00 but same thing, no action for hours, and I was still "going" when I showed up for the procedure. NOT GOOD. Too slow acting. Complained to doc's office afterwards, and found out it's not always effective, but they give it to pacify people who can't stand the taste of the "other stuff". That's dumb. Had they told me it's not very effective I'd have opted for the horrible stuff, because objective is clean bowel, which I did NOT have, and he almost aborted the procedure. Next time I'll go with the horrible stuff because it's effective, which is what's important.Read More Read Less

Truly emptied the bowls as advertised. Have had severe constipation and almost no bowl movements in the 21 days to date after. I think it cleaned out all the good bacteria as well and has caused a big shock to my intestines.

Used this to product to prep for my second 10-year colon cancer screening; January 2017. Prepopik was suggested to me by my Doc only after I asked her for a possibly easier, more pleasant alternative to the usual product that I had used 10 years prior. My experience with this product was very good; I'd definitely use it again next time. Easy dose is just 5 quick ounces in a plastic cup that's supplied with the kit - tastes OK, orange flavor. Then use the same cup to down the recommended five 8 oz. cups of water or clear liquid all within a couple hours of taking the dose. I used ginger ale and white grape juice, and water for variety. Then the med does it's thing for you; I waited about an hour for results to happen. No upset stomach or abdominal pain - it just makes you need to go. And then repeat the whole process again once more - a few hours later - the product comes with two dose packets. The pharmacy told me that this prep cost $135 cash price, so check with your insurance to make sure they'll cover you for this pricey prep. I believe that Affordable Health Care mandates that as of 1/1/2017 all colonoscopy prep meds are now covered at $0 deductible. Good luck, bottoms up! :)Read More Read Less

I was told drinking the solution is the worst part of a colonoscopy. I was surprised to find that Prepopik was easy to drink and not a bad experience at all. It worked as well.

This is by far the best prescription for colonoscopy prep. It is easy to drink and is the only prep that I recommend. I have used all the other brands and this is the only one that doesn't make me sick. I do not dread the prep as I did in the past.

I need to revise my recent post. Effects lasted 11 hours, not 16 hours. I drank the solution using 2 straws and didn't taste anything.
