After putting off 1st colonoscopy until I was nearly 53 from sheer dread of the day-before prep, I'm so thrilled that I did because it allowed the time for Prepopik to be approved in the US. It was the easiest prep I could ever imagine, just 2 five-oz glasses of pleasant citrus-tasting drink at 2 and 8 pm the day before my procedure. They kicked in within an hour each time, each time they led to...

After insurance I paid $118.00 for this prescription. After finding out it only came out in 2012, I started researching it online and discovered as of March 15, 2015 it is manufactured in China. That is according to the actual documents you can find online by searching Prepopik, March 15, made in China. I looked at the outside of the box and it gives the address for the pharmaceutical and it is...

I started a no fiber diet 3 days before prep day. Results began 30 minutes after first dose and lasted 16 hours. No nausea or severe cramping. I drank lots and lots of fluids. I would highly recommend this prep for a colonoscopy .

Terrible. Drug should be withdrawn from the market. Almost knocked me out. Many others had similar reactions, but I now see these have been hidden from recent reviews.

I had my third colonoscopy and I have taken three different preps, this one was easiest by far. Easy to drink, I was a little nauseous at first but I think it was more nerves than anything else, took some zofran. Unlike some post I have read it started working within 30 minutes of taking 1st dose. The only side effect I can complain about other than the obvious (running to the bathroom), was the burning fire sensation using the bathroom. Make sure you have wipes and some kind of treatment for raw rear end. Next colonoscopy is not for another 5 years and I would use this prep again. Read More Read Less

I am a colon cancer survior, 6 years now. Every year since diagnosis I have had a colonoscopy - tomorrow is no different. I pay a lot for this, but its well worth it. This is the third year that I am using it - I was the first of his patients to use it - and I'll continue to use it. Doc has never said aything other than my procedures were basdically uneventful as it pertains to emptying the bowel.

This is my first coloscopy and after reading about the "prep" I was hesitant to take my first 5z dose. After taking the 5z and getting another 16z down, I waited and anticipated. After about 2 hours, things happened, I had two emergency runs to the bathroom, no abdominal pain at all, everything just emptied out. 3 total trips for my first dose. The second dose went as well, there was just less to come out. The hardest part was getting all the water down, 40z is a lot for me. I would use this product again.Read More Read Less

Have had several colonoscopy / endoscopy procedures over the last 15 years due to a history of bowel issues that I have. That said, I have used various emptying protocols during this time, and for me a regimen with good ole Mag Citrate or a regimen with the Golytely/Colytely and/or Nulytley 4 liter all worked more easily than the Prepopik. Pepopik did not seem to empty my bowels as well and left me feeling more dehydrated and electrolyte challenged. Just my opinion. thanks jsc Licensed Pharmacist.Read More Read Less

Split dose regimen did not work when used as directed and after 2-3 days of light food.

I followed the doctor's instructions prior to taking the prep. I also followed the Prepopik instructions, but the prep did not clean out my colon. With such a high price one would think the prep would do the job. It was easy to take but it did not work. Now, I have to start the whole process over. This time, I'll use another prep.

Although it did the job of doing what it was supposed to do, I could not stop vomiting. Even though it is only 2 glasses of the liquid it is so gross. I used very cold water but mixing it with the powder made it warm and foamy. It was terrible to get down. Very difficult prep for me.

Only having to drink two 5-oz glasses of this solution, which didn't even taste that bad, made all the difference in the world. Drinking an additional 8 cups of any clear liquids was not hard at all. My first and largest movement took place 2 hours after the first dose, followed by a couple of smaller movements. The second dose the following morning cleaned out what was left an hour and a half after I took it. The colonoscopy was a success.

GREAT experience! I was able to drink the solution without gagging or throwing up (my biggest concern). Tasted kind of lemon-lime and slightly fizzy. Not great, but easy to tolerate. First round kicked in after 40 minutes. (Stay close to the toilet.) I did take both rounds 1 hour before the prescribed time to give myself plenty of time to empty before appointment. I also ate fairly light 2-3 days before the prep. I estimate that I only spent about 1 hour total on the toilet. Amazing! Was able to sleep during the night except to get up for 2nd dose. No nausea, headache, vomiting or any other side effects. No comparison to my first colonoscopy prep 11 years ago. Downside I was hungry the day of prep because of the liquid diet. Last colonoscopy I was so sick from throwing up the solution I didn't even think about eating. I highly recommend Prepopik! Read More Read Less

My experience with Prepopik was uniformly positive. Taking the two 5oz doses and following up each with other clear liquids was convenient and easily tolerated compared with conventional high-volume colon preparations. I experienced no abdominal pain or bloating. The first dose started to work about 2-1/2 hours after taking and eventually did most of the cleansing. The second dose seemed to have little work left to do. My last evacuations before my colonoscopy were not as clear as I would have liked; but my doctor said that the visibility during the colonoscopy was good. The photos taken during the procedure were crystal clear. The high price of Prepopik is a drawback; but for a person such as myself who cannot tolerate drinking a gallon of the old soapy solution, Prepopik is a wonderful alternative.Read More Read Less

Prepopik did not sufficiently clean my colon. All directions were followed to the letter. Colonoscopy had to be rescheduled due to poor performance of this preparation. To add insult to injury, it is ridiculously expensive. Over the years I have had 3 or 4 previous colonoscopies with different prep solutions and have never experienced a problem.

Compared to suprep, this medication tasted very good. I had no problems getting it down. I did have to drink a lot of fluids but it did the job. I would definitely use it again. No problems with cramping or nausea

I have a VERY sensitive system & although even 5 oz is a lot for me, it went down easy & I didn't get sick from it. But the "orange" flavor tastes like lemonade lol just an FYI. I was advised to drink through a straw, which I did but don't think that was necessary. It did the job & in 10 yrs I'll definitely use this again! Unless something even better comes along!

Took Prepopik for colonoscopy prep. this was my second colonoscopy and the first time I took a Dulcolax/Miralax combo. That worked, but it was difficult to drink the huge volume of liquid required - and I had painful cramping. With Prepopik, I had no cramping, no nausea, and the required amount of liquid was easy. (I drank more than the required amount of clear liquid after each dose - highly suggested). Took about 2 hours after the first dose for the "emptying of the bowel" to begin. My only complaint was the flavor of the prep was so intense - sickeningly sweet in my opinion. But it was only 5 ounces, so easy to drink.Read More Read Less

I liked that you only had five ounces of the solution to drink. You must drink more thanthey tell you. I followed the directions the first day and was worried because not much happened. I woke up at 3 am for my 9 am procedure and drank lots of water with the second half and things started moving. Very happy with the the results.
