After putting off 1st colonoscopy until I was nearly 53 from sheer dread of the day-before prep, I'm so thrilled that I did because it allowed the time for Prepopik to be approved in the US. It was the easiest prep I could ever imagine, just 2 five-oz glasses of pleasant citrus-tasting drink at 2 and 8 pm the day before my procedure. They kicked in within an hour each time, each time they led to...

After insurance I paid $118.00 for this prescription. After finding out it only came out in 2012, I started researching it online and discovered as of March 15, 2015 it is manufactured in China. That is according to the actual documents you can find online by searching Prepopik, March 15, made in China. I looked at the outside of the box and it gives the address for the pharmaceutical and it is...

CAUTION: I took PREPOPIK Thurs. It tasted decent. I'm healthy and fit. I developed a severe headache, stomach ache and nausea. I almost threw up the 2nd dose. Miserable night! Four days later (post-successful colonoscopy) I have indigestion/heartburn, gas, mild pressure in the lower chest, intestinal "rumbling", mild light-headedness and mild heart palpitations. I believe SOME of this is lingering effects from the Prepopik. READ ALL THE CAUTIONS BEFORE CHOOSING THIS DRUG. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT.

The taste wasn't too awful...However after takin the first dose I felt sick and dizzy. Took 1 1/2hrs to kick in. Second dose I could not get and keep down. After talking to the local nurse they said I would be contacted by different nurse in an hour. When the phone rang I swear it was a rep for the drug. During the recorded conversation i was asked several questions to my symptoms, which were naseau, dizzyness and vomiting blood. After several questions she very quietly told me to go to the ER immidiately. I had to have her repeat herself because she was saying it so quietly so it would not be recorded. So after 4 hrs in the ER the Docs had never heard of the drug and were unsure why i was so sick. Turns out I was severly dehydrated, which surprised me because before I vomited my stomach was so distended from being so full of the liquid I had to ingest but yet was having watery bowel movements. Was not sure if I was going to be able to have my procedure the next day, but thankfully I was able to have it...One thing that confused me was I never had a movement after ingesting 3/4 of the second dose? I knew I was not totally cleaned out but for some reason it created it's own blockage. Not sure if I would ever take it again after the ER visit, but the endoscopy office said their patients take it all the time and were very surprised by my experiance.Read More Read Less

This colonoscopy prep is so much easier than what I've been prescribed in the past. But it did not result in a clear colon even though I followed the directions exactly. I could feel and see that I wasn't clear and felt bloated. Embarrassing! I like the easier prep but don't feel it allows the best experience or view for the caregivers!

Compared to other bowel preps, this one was MUCH easier for me; I will never do another one now. The amount to get down was maneageable and unlike other preps, I found the taste to be much better.

The taste is absolutely awful. Very hard not to vomit back up. Osmoprep is sooo much easier to take. Next time I will INSIST on it.

Cost $75 (with presc. card)! Colonoscopy prep - followed directions explicitly. Felt nauseous after first dose followed by evacuation of bowel followed by uncontrollable vomiting to dry heaves. Dr. recommended trip to ER ($500)after insurance (I had already met deductible)!! 2 bags of saline and Phenergan and ondansetron I went home and next day purchased magnesium citrate $l.50 and experienced no problem and had a colonoscopy the following day! No more prepopik for me!!! Two days of prep and $576.50 for colon prep - compared to $l.50!!Read More Read Less

Used for colonoscopy prep after being unable to tolerate Suprep. Amount to drink was manageable (two 5-oz doses). With 5 Dulcolax and loads of Gatorade, colon was squeaky clean and ready for the procedure. Finally - a prep that was doable for me.

BEWARE: My wire was given prepopik to use for her prep for a colonoscopy on 2-22-13 and it was totally ineffective. This colonoscopy procedure could not be completed and when I called Ferring about it being ineffective they only said, it does not work on everyone. This was the first and only time a prep medicine did not work for my wife over the past 15 years. BEWARE THIS MEDICINE DOES NOT WORK AND WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT IT IS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA.
