Today marks my one year on Qsymia and I wanted to see if there were any long term affects so I decided to read these comments. To my surprise there doesn’t seem to be any long term users….most are 90 days or less. I am pleased to say in that since I started this drug I have lost 138lbs and I am going to continue until I lose 75 more. This drug is really for those who need it. I have but back ...

I love this medication. I have previously taken regular phentermine and contrave. I had to stop the regular phentermine due to side effects and the same for contrave, that gave me terrible migraines. I started Qsymia at 217 lbs and am currently at 190, that is over a 3 month period. My original starting point was 225 lbs before I started the med so I have lost 35 lbs altogether since January. My goal is to get to 160. I am 5 foot 7 and 54 years old. I have done every diet known to man and all they ever do is make me obsess about food. This medication makes me not think about food at all, it's such a nice change. It's like a break for my mind. The only side effects this gives me are dry mouth and constipation. Both easily remedied with mints and the right fruits (I stay away from fiber supplements due to IBS issues and stomach pain). Have not done much exercise although I know I need to not just for weight loss but for continued movement of my aging body. I was originally afraid to start this medication after reading some reviews but I am so glad I did. It has been a godsend for me. (I never moved past the second dosage, 46/7.5)Read More Read Less

I felt horrible. I stopped taking it. The low dose was ok but didn't really do anything. The higher dose made me tired, lethargic and depressed. I have taken phentermine no problem. The combo of this drug made me ill. Still feeling side effects..loss of money too

I started at 199.7 March 1st as of March 10th I am 192.6. I did change my diet and I work out at least 3 -4 x a week cycling to weight lifting. I try to drink 1 gallon of water daily. Sometimes I get a dull headache but that's about it. I believe it's helping me because I am allowing it to. I start week 2 dosing Wednesday.

Almost 2 months in, down 20 pounds (started at 250, Male age 51). And with the crappy winter weather I have done less physical activity than normal during these two months. Also simultaneously started meds for high blood pressure. No physical side effects but agree with others soda and beer taste flat so you end up not drinking them at all which is good and I guess a positive impact. But the drug has sent me on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. First week or so I was moody, up and down emotions. Was this caused by the drug or the DTs/withdrawal from removing sugars/salts/processed foods from my diet for the first time in 30 years? My opinion is don't blame the drugs for that, blame the DTs. Month 2 start to realize I have become another person. What I mean is: when you diet, you force yourself not to eat, but you still WANT to eat, right? You are still addicted to food. With this drug, you DONT WANT to eat, so that addiction is gone. And at some point you realize, food is your first love, you have always needed food. You didn't eat because you were hungry, you ate just to eat. And now that need is gone, so who you are is different from a mental standpoint. Then also, if socially your persona is defined by drinking and eating you have to figure out how to be social without depending so much on those things. My doc wanted me to go a full 3 months on this drug so will do that then determine whether to continue. I probably will until I plateau on weight loss, but can't see taking this permanently. Unbelievably great! It is TRULY A LIFE SAVER. High blood pressure. No more. Over 100lbs overweight. Have been within 20-25 lbs of my goal . Just must weight train. I WILL GET THERE! Still - weight is off. Almost No side effects, just normal dry mouth, & insomnia (if taken too late) AGAIN - i have tried literally everything!!! In my lifetime! My doctor told me to get my weight down, & BP down & I was prime candidate for this “NEW” Qsymia! In 2014!!! He said I was literally the “poster child” for this medication. It saved my life - & CHANGED MY LIFE! Thank you Dr. Mark & QSYMIA!Read More Read Less

Starting weight 158, 5'1" female 60 years old. Needed to lose 20-25 pounds. Started Qsymia lowest dose 7 weeks ago. Lost 9 pounds to date but I have little appetite (eat about 900 calories per day) and work out 1.5 to 2 hours per day religiously. Average weight loss of 1.3 pounds per week is hardly miraculous given how little I eat and how much I work out but I will continue taking it as long as it helps to control appetite. I've had zero side effects so very happy with that.

Pros: helps control cravings and hunger. Slow gradual and minimal weight loss, makes your own goals easier to stick to. Cons: anyone can post a review on this website. The ones saying they’ve lost massive amounts of weight I’d be suspicious of- likely Qysymia marketing trying to justify the outrageous price of this medicine. It’s so unaffordable the pharmacist asks everytime if I’m sure the payment amount is correct with the “qysymia savings plan” because it’s insane. Also, read their fine print closely. It isn’t possible to actually lose that much that quick with their medication alone on just exercise and diet. my Dr cautioned against those reviews as well. It would be considered unsafe and any reputable doctor would stop the medication. Overall, if you can afford the outrageous stupid price of it, it helps a bit. But don’t expect it to be a miracle drug like the suspicious reviews claim. Read More Read Less

I started out at 197, in 5 months reached 150. Just the way I wanted to. Slow and controlled. Healthy diet. Gave up soda, my biggest problem. 5'8". 74 years old. Moderate activity. No side effects. I'm still going down until I reach 145. Very dry mouth. Got dry mouth gel from dentist. Very happy with results, but I worked at it too. I have way more energy now. :)

I took it for 9 months. I’m not obese but had menopause and Covid weight gain. I went from size 12 to size 7. I lost 6 inches off my waist. My side effects were not bad enough to stop me from taking it.

I have been on Qsymia 2 months. I have lost 32 pounds so it has been very effective. But the side effects…I have quite a bit of tingling in my feet especially at night and sleeping is difficult at best. Carbonated drinks are also terrible even just carbonated water. I am enjoying the results so I am doing my best to adjust. I have found that a nerve pain topical cream makes the tingling better.

No side effects, which was good. Had no effect on my appetite, which was bad. I did not lose any weight during 6 months of taking Qsymia in increasing doses.

Its been one month now. Increased my activity at the gym. Taking two classes four days a week. Have not lost one pound. No side effects. Going to stick with the three month program. Endocrinologist did recommend. I am a 54 year old female. Medicine just may not be for me.

I had lost 30 lbs on my own with diet and exercise. I had reached a plateau (for about 3 months) and started taking Qsymia to try to help me out of the plateau. It had no effect even though I was continuing the same diet and exercise routine on which I had lost 30 lbs. Absolutely no change in weight or appetite. I took the medication for 2 months and decided to quit rather than spend the money on a third month since I saw no change/effect. After quitting the medication I seem to become very lethargic and slept a lot. It must have been increasing my metabolism but I didn't notice a change while taking it and it had no impact on my weight.Read More Read Less

I took the free 14 day trial of this and it really didn’t seem to help much at all. However, once I started taking the real / regular dosage (for the past 2 weeks), it has worked great! I’ve lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. I don’t have cravings and can’t eat much at all anymore. For example, after cooking a Papa Murphy pizza (at request of my hubby), I didn’t even want a piece of pizza. But, I felt like I should eat something, so I had 1/16 of a piece and only had 1/2 of it (4 bites). I can’t eat very much now and feel ok quickly. I do feel hungry mostly in the mornings. I’ve been able to keep my calories to around 1200 easily. I can have a can of tuna (with miracle whip) & a few crackers for my dinner and I’m satisfied. Some things don’t even taste that good or don’t sound good anymore. It’s awesome! I actually have to make myself eat so I don’t feel weak and shaky! I can’t believe it! I still have to lose a LOT but this gives me hope! I’ve got a bad back & I’m not into exercise. This has been great for me so far. A little expensive, but I’m saving $$ of food & snacks. :) Read More Read Less

Just started the medication. However, I needed assistance from their representative to fix an order and they have the worst costumer care. The representative was rude and careless about my concern. With her verbal communication she made sure I knew I was being an inconvenience with my situation.

I lost 55-60 pounds from November 2016 to September 2019. I have maintained my weight at 130-135 pounds since then. I have been on Qsymia 7.5 most of the time because the lower dose did not control my cravings. I do not exercise. (I wear size 10 jeans for the first time in my life.)

I can't really say how it works because I still have yet to receive my first shipment. Paid for overnight delivery two days ago with MedVantx. When I called, the agent on the phone said he would push it through the best he could but to expect 2-3 days processing even on overnight requests. Don't waste your money on paying for extra fast delivery, it won't happen. He also told me that if I hadn't paid for faster shipping it would have gone more than 5 days in the US Postal service AFTER the 2-3 days processing. Not a great start to my relationship with this company. Read More Read Less
