Today marks my one year on Qsymia and I wanted to see if there were any long term affects so I decided to read these comments. To my surprise there doesn’t seem to be any long term users….most are 90 days or less. I am pleased to say in that since I started this drug I have lost 138lbs and I am going to continue until I lose 75 more. This drug is really for those who need it. I have but back ...

Started with lowest dose for 14 days. Moved up to 11.25 and still no results. I have been taking this medication for 6 wks and have not lost a pound! I don't want to keep putting medicine in my body that doesn't work. The directions says to wait twelve wks before increasing the dosage. What's a girl to do ???????

Was on this medication for a week but could not tolerate the dosage increase after that. I was very agitated and it was changing how food tasted (iron or bloody taste) exploring other option Belviq as my doc says he is seeing success with no side effects. Will let you know how it goes.

Started at 172lbs. Now at 153lbs 2 months into treatment. No dieting needed. The pill does it for you. Just eating healthy foods like fruits, veggies, cereal, milk, cheese, lots of water. The pill makes you crave healthy stuff. I have to have coffee though and lattes with whipped cream. There are side effects. I do have panic attacks from it where I think I can't breath. The first one I called 911 and an ambulance came. I got a $100 bill. Now I tell myself that it is all in my head and that I can really breath and the feeling goes away. They don't happen that often anymore. I get dizzy sometimes. I just put my head in my hands and that goes away. I get tingling in my feet. Nothing major. My exercise includes walking the dogs. I also try to make it to hot yoga once a week. The weight loss is almost effortless with this drug. It is a miracle cure for me. I have such a struggle with my weight and yearly yoyo dieting. I am on the lowest dose and do not plan on going any higher. My insurance doesn't cover it and I have to get it from CVS mail order. It would cost me $150 a month, but so far coupons have me paying $75 a month. I am on a Facebook Support Group of Qsymia users that really helps each other through the struggles.Read More Read Less

Too many bad side effects; dry mouth, constipation, insomnia, and a weird tingling throughout body.

Have taken for about 4 months. Increased in strength to 15 mg. 15mg was a little too strong for me. Way too thirsty, intermittent headaches; decreasing to 11.25mg. Took in conjunction with Optifast program - lost 36 pounds so far - over 20% of body weight.

Only been on it a few weeks and have lost 8 lbs. Constipation, dry mouth, tingling in my hands and face are the most common side effects. Plan to continue taking the pills. Definitely decreases hunger! Tooks quite a bit of time to get the pills from CVS though.

History of Diabetes Heart Disease, genetic migraines and struggle with anxiety , weight gain premenapausal. For the constipation I take Magnesium 2/ 250. For trouble sleeping and feeling refreshed I take Deep Sleep ( 1 ) and I make sure I excercise and drink lots of water, eat my fiber and calories for the day and make good changes along the way. Be patient. Just wish insurance covered it

I am in my early 50's with RA that has limited my mobility and I have slowly gained weight. Some of my medication increases my cholesterol and others cause and increase in blood pressure. The pain I was in and the decreased use of my joints made "working out" difficult to do and I became depressed and ate more due to the depression. I started this medication 8 months ago and I am down 55 pounds. While I will always have joint damage I am better able to get around and that in turn helps my weight and RA. I did have very dry mouth so I always keep water around. Read More Read Less

Constiptation was real bad. Had to take laxatives twice a day. At about the two week trial (never got to the full amount), it was havac with my head. I wanted to sleep and when I was awake at work it wouldn't take much to make me want to cry.
