This shot was very painful and my knee hurt worse after the shot then before. This was the last option before having knee replacement. It took 4 weeks but it finally made a difference and now I have returned to my previous activities. I have Osteoarthritis, bone on bone. MD said I have 80 yr old knees and my I am several decades younger than that. So while very painful to receive the shot... ...

I had the one injection (not the 3) however this was the worst experience of my life. I have had cortisone injections which work, this gel injection left me in severe pain, my thigh was swollen, and my hip in great pain for 4 days, I use ice most nights, took 2 tramadol and 800 ibuprofen for pain, did not help much. I was told it takes 7 days for this gel to work. Today is has been 13 days, and th...

Have had Synvisc One injections for nearly 4 years - worked for about 9 months each. Had the Gel One about 45 45 days ago and it has done NOTHING. Of course insurance will no longer cover Synvisc so basically, I am screwed!

I had no success with cortisone and bone on bone knee pain was limiting sleep and activity. After a Gel-One injection, and a period of about 3 weeks, I have had significant pain reduction. Obviously, the problem is not gone but it is easier to tolerate, at the moment. I am approching 3 months post injection.

I was told it takes 7 days for this gel to work. Today is has been 13 days, and the knee pain is extreme, worst than before they gave me this injection. I asked if the gel went to the wrong place and was told that was not possible. I am taking 2 tramadol 2x daily and 600mg ibuprofen 3x daily. My pain level remains at 7-8. I don't know what to do. I am 77 years of age and the first injection lasted 8 months and I am now on the second injection. It has allowed me to continue to play golf.

I have been receiving a Gel One injection in both knees every 6 mos for 5 years. It greatly reduces the pain. Without the Gel One, I would need an operation.

In the past I received the series of 3 injections, each a week apart which worked great and gave me full movement of my knee without pain. Last year I got the Gel one shot and it didnâ??t work at all. The pain in my knee is worse than it was. I am not able to exercise at all.

Couldn’t even get out of bed the pain from the shot was terrible. Had a much better experience with just cortisone and reaction is nonexistent.

After several bilateral knee injuries I damaged the knees to the point that the knee cap no longer rotates properly causing wear on the cartilage underneath and ultimately ended up to the point of bone on bone rubbing. I've been getting Gel-One injections for about 2.5 years and have felt a tremendous amount of relief. Unfortunately, sometimes the relief only lasts 4.5 - 5 months and I have to wait until the 6 month mark to get re-injected. I believe it is well worth it. Without the injections, I was taking pain meds almost daily just to sleep. Now, its very rare.Read More Read Less

I suffered anaphylactic shock after my first treatment in both knees. I was hospitalized for two days after passing out on the street minutes after leaving the doctor's office. I realize it is a very rare allergic reaction, but I'm sorry to report that I did not receive any pain relief in either knee. The treatment did not work for me.

I get injections in BOTH knees. My left has Stage 3(of 4) osteoarthritis. Get injections every 6 months. Takes 3-4 weeks to really works but then works great for about 4-4.5 months. I have been getting since it came out-love just 1 injection vs series of 3. Currently helps to point not considering knee replacement. I do wear a pain patch but NOT just for arthritis.

It's been almost 2 wks. Maybe not enough time to eval. fully. Injection was normally uncomfortable. Pain after injection started on my way to the car. Tried ice, heat and Tylenol. Could not bend my leg for 2 days. Whole leg hurt from hip to ankle. I don't think I will do this Gel One again.

I have bone on bone. Had this injection in both knees 2 weeks ago. Cannot tell any difference. Hope they feel better in the future. Have been getting various shots every 3 months since 2012. Synvic One worked the best. Cortisone for 2 months. Euflexxa did not work. Gel One did not help 2 years ago, but that is all that VA had to offer, so I am trying it again.

I have had bi annual Gel One shots in both knees for the past 3 years. My last injections in both knees were in mid 2016. My doctor said this was a new version of Gel One. After receiving the shots I felt almost immediate relief. By the time I walked out of the doctor's office I felt the positive effects of Gel One. Previous shots of Gel One were not as effective or immediate. I thankfully had no side effects. Of course the injections are a bit painful but that is to be expected. Thanks to Medicare the shots are covered. Read More Read Less

It's been about 5 weeks since my injection in both knees. I have seen no improvement, in fact, my pain may be worse than before. Also, I received a statement from the insurance company that the cost of the "medicine" was over $6,000.00! Has anyone else had this unacceptable billing?

two and a half weeks since Gel-One injection, marginal improvement in pail level. Dr. now tells me normally takes 6-8 weeks. Was told if doesn't work I can have the alternative in SIX months. Thank you Medicare for your help!

The most painful part of this, was jumping through the insurance hoops. The actual injection, took all of 30 seconds and done. I'm back to running and the gym. I couldn't be happier. The doctor said for some this lasts forever, and others, a few months. If forever, I'm fully satisfied, I'm still in that a few months window.

My experience is conflicting. Few minutes after I got the injection I went into a severe anaphylactic shock and ended in the ICU. After 12 hours I recovered and I am doing well but was a very horrible experience. As for my knee I am satisfied with the product no pain at all and doing perfect. Obviously my body reacted in an abnormal way to this product. After this experience I have to say that the product is not completely safe for everybody. More investigation need to be done before the first death show up. Read More Read Less
