I would not recommend Minastrin. I was on Loestrin 24fe for 3 years-- and I loved it. When they switched me to Minastrin, I was told that it was identical-- so I didn't notice the crazy side effects until 3 months later. I had gained 6 pounds-- all around my stomach and hips, an area I do not normally first gain weight in. I would get so hungry right before my period, completely ravenous. My s ... Show Full Comment

LOVED loestrin 24 fe. I was on it for 3 IRS with no issues. not so much this one. I've never missed a pill or been inconsistent with the time I take it, and for two months I've had breakthrough bleeding and cramps one week before the placebos. (Plus my withdrawal period, which is heavier than it was on loestrin 24 fe). I'm going to talk to my doc about iuds so I don't have to worry ... Show Full Comment

I also had been taking Loestrin but was switched to Minastrin. I started taking it 4 months ago, and have not a had a period since. I assumed it was because my body was getting use to the new pill but I am constantly nauseous, eye blurring dizziness, and I have actually lost about 10 pounds. I am highly dissatisfied with this pill! I never had any issues with Loestrin Fe. So I do not believe they ... Show Full Comment

I had taken Loestrin 24 Fe for four years and I absolutely loved it. They switched me over to Minastrin 24 Fe because it apparently has a similar formulation. The first month taking it was fine. Now I'm on my second pack and supposed to be starting my period soon. My breasts have been unbearably sore and I have had terrible cramps which Loestrin prevented. Since I began taking it, I've als ... Show Full Comment

I was on Yaz for a number of years, but recently my new DR put me on Loestrin 24. I was on Loestrin for a month before it was discontinued, and started taking Minastrin. I've been taking Minastrin for about 4 months now, trying to allow my body to get used to the new drug. I am completely dissatisfied with this medication. I find myself spotting 2 weeks before my actual cycle, and then finall ... Show Full Comment
