My dermatologist advised me to proceed slowly with this gel, adding a small amount more per day to my regular rosacea moisturizer. Even a small amount immediately cleared up my redness for almost the whole day. I have been very happy with it. For anyone having problems, try this "go slow" method that my doctor told me about.

I just discovered this medicine. My dermatologist gave me a sample, and the first two days were great, but the next two not so much. It is great in the morning, but then by early afternoon, my face is more red than it originally was, and it's really warm. I'm trying to decide if I should continue, as I'm hoping this is just my skin getting used to it? Anyone else experience this as the medi...

I went to the dermatologist because my face was a little red. Nothing overly concerning me, but the physician perscribed Mirvaso. I used Mirvaso for about 3 weeks. The first week it worked pretty quickly and made my face less red. The second week, I noticed that my face was more red than usual after a few hours of putting it on. Eventually it got less red. The third week I decided not to put it on because I felt that it was making my face more red. To my surprise, it now looks like I have sunburn all around my face. I immediately stopped using this and hope that my face will turn back what I had originally ... a little red in the cheeks. For people that are considering this, I would only recommend this as a last resort if your face is really red and bad and it you feel that it can't get any worse. I shouldn't have used this because it made my face more red.Read More Read Less

Saw a French site where someone said they combined aloe vera gel and Mirvaso. I experimented with it and it helped me better than straight Mirvaso

I definitely did not do my research before using this product. My dermatologist did not mention the potential severe rebound effect that this causes. I had very mild redness, but after using the product for 2 weeks and skipping use for one day, my face is completely red as if I was badly sun burned. Thankfully, since I live in Florida, I can get away with this without much more than a "looks like you got some sun this weekend" comment from everyone I see. However, as I have discontinued using it, I'm very concerned to know how long it will take before the redness subsides. From the other reviews, it sounds like it will take a couple weeks. Looks like it works very well for some who continue to use it daily, but also has severe repercussions if the dosage is missed. Consult your dermatologist before using. If I had known the affect, I would NOT have started using it. Plus, it's fairly expensive.Read More Read Less

I have been using Mirvaso for about a month and only apply it when I am going to be out in public. Today was the first time I did not apply the medication and my skin was flushed and hot. My skin looks worse than before I began the use of this medication. I wonder how long will the rebound flushing last after discontinuing use.

My dermo gave this to me because I had two small patches of dryness and scaling that had some pinkness when I got out of the shower. He said I had very very mild rosacea. I tried this and now I have full blown beet red face. I'll never use this again. I urge caution to anyone who is given samples of this.

UPDATE: I earlier posted that to combat rebound, I was having success applying twice a day. Unfortunately, that's not working anymore and it began to seem as if the longer I suppressed rebound, the worse the breakthrough episode would be. I've had horrible rebound over the last few days and its consistent with what I've read on these sites; deeply inflamed, bright red tissue, more widespread than the application area. I cannot believe this stuff is FDA approved.

Horrible reaction after it wore off. I used this for redness in my cheeks, however once it wore off after the 2nd day, my face EXPLODED with the WORST redness and flushing ever. Needless to say, I stopped using it and hid.

Using it for 3 months - LOVE IT !!!! You need to experiment with it to see what works for you. I had a very red face....could not go out without makeup..it has been that way ever since I could remember. The Mirvaso pales out my skin and I have an even skin tone when I do not wear makeup. However, using Mirvaso when my triggers happen (sun, stress, etc) turns my face beat red. Sooooo I experimented and found that when I wear liquid makeup over the Mirvaso (you need to wait at least 20 minutes between the two)& one of my triggers happen...it looks BEAUTIFUL!!! ...the best way I can equate/explain it is when you bend over for 30 secs. to brush your hair and then stand straight flipping your hair back and the blood has rushed to your face..It looks great..The makeup keeps it looking even. I am so glad I did not give up when I turned red that 1st time. Good Luck !!Read More Read Less

Consistent with other reviewers, I too experienced rebound episodes when I began using Mirvaso two months ago. The effect for the first several hours however was indeed profound. I was amazed. So despite the rebound episodes I continued to experiment and began applying the product twice daily; once in the morning, then again around 5pm, a few hours before the rebound had typically kicked in. I have not experienced rebound redness ever since and having tried every prescription and OTC product available, nothing even comes close to the diffuse redness relief I receive with Mirvaso.Read More Read Less

After 3 days I had the best skin I have had in 3 years, but after 1 week I started to get the worst flushing I have ever had. Dark, deep red pattern in exactly the places I had used the cream, burning red and painful. I tried reducing to every second day but symptoms still got worse. I appeared sunburnt and redness would not go away. I have stopped using and it has taken 2 weeks for my skin to return to the way it was before. Disappointed after the initial good results.

I have had rosacea all my life so I was very excited when this came out. I've been using it for a few months and the 1st few weeks saw improvement. However, after a couple of months, I'm sad to say my rosacea has taken a turn for the worse. My face is redder than normal (sun burned) so I stopped using it a couple of days ago to see if it will improve...

Such awful experience that I reported it to the FDA. Mirvaso worked only the first time I used it, which was about 10 days ago. Within a few days of use (which I was careful to spread apart) it was less effective and had a terrible side effect within hours, I had extremely red/purple outbreak in areas of my face that used to be clear, burning sentations... It is a disaster having to walk around this way. I have stopped using it four days ago, and my skin is still worse than it was before using it. I have reported it to FDA.gov/medwatch. I hope more research is done.Read More Read Less

I used it 3 times. First time wow!! Then the afterburn, flushing, bright red, disfigurement. Do not use this. It is dangerous and in my view must be harmful

I have chronic eczema on my face ... not good. A dermatologist in Miami Beach recommended I try this topical cream instead of the Protopic which I had been using for years - Protopic works BUT it can have bad side effects down the road. Mirvaso is amazing! My doctor said it's like "visine for the skin" ... and she was right! Clears me up within hours.

I use Mirvaso for my rosacea but I saw this online for anyone having laser: BEST NEWS IN YEARS!- Mirvaso!!!! I can’t tell you this will work for you. But I had just had a laser treatment done and 2 months later I was still having a tough time with Redness! My rosacea was slightly better by approx. 50 percent. And I was still red and blotched. I called my Doctor and I told him this was just approved. He called it in and I used it! WOW! Amazing. I wouldn’t use it everyday. But along with the other products, treatments, and life style changes. It worked amazing! Use as directed! But all and all. It was amazing! DO your research and check it out. Good Luck!! – MIRVASO!!!?Read More Read Less

I started to use Mirvaso in the beginning of August and i was really excited to have found something like a magic cream for my rosacea. I had a lot of expectations on it. The first application was perfect. My face was so white, i couldnt even remember when was the last time to have such a normal face. After a month and a half i can say that my face has a rebound effect, it means that without the gel my face is more red than before and i need to use Mirvaso a couple of times a day but results are not so good as in the beginning. It seems that the effect is vanishing little by little. The side effects are: more redness(as a tomato) and pain on my face.Read More Read Less

While the medication works at reducing redness, the rebound redness is out of control. When the cream's effectiveness wears off, or if you stop using it, the redness I experienced was something I had never seen prior to using mirvaso. The cream left me worse than before I began using it. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.
