I used Ortho Evra for years, had to switch because new insurance wouldn't cover it. Until the generic came out. then I switched back. I see bad reviews, but I don't have a bad review for this medication. It can take a body 3 months to adjust to birth control. Generic's inactive ingredients are slightly different than the brand, so that probably accounts for many people's bad side effects. My a...

Like others, Xulane showed up unexpectedly at my front door when my mail order came in one month instead of Ortho Evra. For the first month it appeared to be a decent patch. The second month went okay as well it seemed. Side note: the Xulane patch does not re-stick at all once it peels off even just the tiniest bit. Ortho Evra does stick back on. When I put on my first patch for the start of the t...

I have tried almost all bc available the pill several times and always forgot to take it, the nuva ring and it fell out in the toilet (gross), the mirena which was poking into my uterus making me constantly bleed and made intercourse very uncomfortable. The xulane patch has been the best option for me. I set a weekly reminder on my phone to change my patch and I hardly ever forget! In the beginning it was a little rough with the hormonal changes. I did experience a lot of bleeding and mood swings but I stuck with it and everything leveled out, my hormones were no longer a bother after 3/4 months and my bleeding during periods are very minimal. I'm so pleased with this method of bc I don't think I'll ever leave the patch!Read More Read Less

Works great for me no side effects. Just if swimming or taking a bath the sides can peel off a bit but if you plan on going swimming just put on a tegaderm to keep water out

I had previously used the birth control ring for 4 years and decided in May, 2016 to change to the Ortho Evra patch. I was given the Xulane generic form. I have used the Xulane patch with NO side effects until now . . . 10 months later! I put a new patch on my lower abdomen and within 6-8 hours I developed a horrible burning, itching rash square right under the patch. I immediately removed it and place a new patch on my upper shoulder. Within 6 hours again a horrible burning, itching rash under the patch so now I have two square burning itching rash spots! I can't believe I'm getting side effects now after 10 months of use! I have felt much better on the patch then I did on the ring. Now I don't know what to do. I can't use the Xulane patch anymore!Read More Read Less

My body has finally adjusted to this birth control and the morning sickness is gone, everything is smooth sailing now. I have however, gained a bit of weight from the patch i'd rather gain a little than be sick every day!!

I just started taking this medication yesterday. It was on for about 24 hours and I started feeling dizzy and got a huge migraine which started earlier in the day. By later afternoon I felt sick to my stomach. Figured it was something I ate but I've never had a headache like this before. Started reading reviews on this drug and removed it. Hoping to feel better soon. A little over 24hr on this drug and I felt beyond sick to my stomach. Was on the patch years ago, brand name and never had a problem never felt like this.Read More Read Less

I've been on xulane for a good 3 weeks and its been a good experience. When I first got the patch and started reading reviews I was scared because of all the negative reviews and experiences i read, but so far my experience has been fine. I havent had any side effects except a little bit of acne here and there, and sometimes the area in which the patch is on starts to itch but that lasts for about a minute and never stays enough for it to bother me. I know its too early to completely write this patch off as a godsend, so i will be reporting back if anything happens, since I just started taking it and It will take a while for my body to get accustomed to the hormonesRead More Read Less

I've had a good experience with Xulane. I have not had any of the side effects people have described in other reviews such as a rash at the site where the patch is put or migranes/headaches. The only thing I would say is that if you are submerged in water either in a pool or a bathtub the patch may start to peel at edges and you may have to switch to a new one if it looses it's adherence, but other than that has been very effective for me.

Have been using this ever since this generic version was offered. Was previously on Ortho Evra and got switched to this by insurance once it got to market. Works well and is easy to use.

This patch was amazing for the first few months. Then all of a sudden I started to get get double vision, dizziness headaches, and heart attack like symptoms. To top it all off, when I removed the patch,it was SO itchy and bumpy; it looked like the worst red rash of my life!! I don't have a choice but to stay on this till I can find an alternative.

I was looking for something less permanent, as we are getting ready to prepare ourselves for a baby. I was on depo provera (the shot) for quite awhile and we want to start our family here soon. So I went off the shot and changed over to using the patch. The only issue I've had with it, is these horrible migraines I've been having. Makes me miss work for days at a time. I'm going off the patch and will be talking to my doctor about other options.

I have been using this for several months and really liked the idea of not taking a pull everyday. Buy just this week I have a horrible red, bumpy, itchy rash in a perfect square where the patch was. I guess it's back to the drawing board.

Same thing happened to me. It was perfect for like 4 months and now every where I place it, it makes a square rash. I have to get off of these.

The pill gave me major problems, and when I switched to the patch I thought I'd found the perfect solution - my migraines went away, my mood significantly improved, and I felt relieved not having to take a pill every day. It was great for 4 months and now I get terrible ITCHY and painful rashes on the patch site that take forever to go away.. so I currently have 3 bumpy, itchy, blood-red squares on my body. In addition, I have burned through 3 BOXES of patches in the last two and a half weeks because THEY FALL OFF EVERY DAY. My mood has gotten worse, I'm steadily gaining weight, and I have aches and pains all over by body. Only plus side is that I'm not pregnant. Will be switching as soon as I have the chance. Although this product was easy to use, and very convenient. I had a crazy allergic reaction to the patches. Everywhere I have placed the patch I have a scar or rashes to show were it was located. I also experienced vaginal odor due to the high level of hormones and the fact that I was allergic to it. I wish my experience was better, I enjoyed the easy use of this birth control. Also, this contraceptive made me extremely moody...beyond and "okay" point. However, I would recommend this product to others... it is worth a try. I am now going to try the Nuvaring.. I'm really nervous about this new venture. Read More Read Less

I had been using the orthoevra patch for years and was switch to this generic version and within a couple of months I was pregnant even when I used a second method of birth control. Placement of this patch was on my hip and I didn't find out about my pregnancy until about eight weeks and before had continued using the patch. The extra hormones would have caused developmental delays and this put me in a horrible position. This patches effectiveness is extremely lacking needless to say.

The first week I had absolutely no side effects. Then the day after putting on the second patch I woke up with a yeast infection and I've been so bloated I look pregnant. I gained 4 pounds in under 2 weeks and have been having chest pains so I decided to take it off

After having the patch on for two days, I began to get headaches like never before. My whole body ached and i could not hold any food down. Not to mention vaginal odor from increased estrogen. Would not recommend this to anyone!

I recently was prescribed this,I have found it fairly simple to use and very effective. There is some residue after I take off the patch but that's it. There was slight weight gain but it's barely noticeable and I don't worry because I was previously underweight and I'm now a more healthy weight. I haven't had bloating or any other problems. The first 3-5 days I experienced some nausea and headaches but the shortly subsided. I can say that it works well for me and I like it. I don't have problems with it falling off either. :)Read More Read Less
