I suffer from knee and hip degeneration as well as arthrithic complications in my spine. I have bbentaking Celebrix for about 4 years. The drug works albeit quietly/unobtrusively) to the point of seemingly not to be working, BUT when I was required to stop taking it in prep for a hip replacement, and again for a lumbar lapionectomy(?) the immediate and excessive pain/swelling at my majopr joints ... The drug works albeit quietly/unobtrusively) to the point of seemingly not to be working, BUT when I was required to stop taking it in prep for a hip replacement, and again for a lumbar lapionectomy(?) the immediate and excessive pain/swelling at my majopr joints was unbearable!!!!. My body seemed to go into overtime destruction once the inhibiting effects of celebrix was interrupted. I am very worried that such discontinuances, even if only temporary, are doubly detrimental and excelleratedly hurtful to my future well being. i.e. in the long term is the drug the right choice/ solution???

I have been taking celebrex for a little over 30 days, one 200 mg capsule in the morning. doesn't seem effective later at night. I am up right now at 2 in the morning because I am experiencing severe intestinal pain and can't sleep. I wanted to look up the side effects and I see that I am experiencing the first side effect listed.

while using the celebrex 200 for 1 week my bp went up 55 points and had severe abdominal pain. will take the bursitis pain over celebrex.
