Repatha has really zapped my cholesterol. I was unable to tolerate any Stanton or non stantons, I had severe muscle pain with both. I am about 4 months in on Repatha use and am having dull aggravating muscle pain all over, don't know why, but seems have started after starting Repatha. I am also having joint aches that I have never had before. I think I am going to skip my next dose and see if ther...

My 83-yr old mother has had two strokes and was taking Welchol to lower her cholesterol. It was not working so the doctor prescribed Repatha, calling it the new miracle drug. She took 3 doses, two weeks apart and then developed severe neuropathy. She said it felt like the blood was boiling in her hands and feet...it is very painful and dibilitating. The doctor could only surmise that her cholester...

At first I experienced a combo of diarrhea and constipation. After a month this subsided. Then my blood pressure went through the roof. My joints started hurting. My heart hurts when trying to exercise. I had to get off the drug.

Repatha has dropped my cholesterol numbers in half or better. I have been on this medication for about 3 months. I am now feeling a lot of side effects from using this medication. Severe joint, back, and muscle pain. Blurred vision comes and goes as well as fatigue. I did talk to my doctor about these issues and she then looked up the side effects and all listed. It is too bad because this was the first cholesterol medication that has worked for me. But I just can't handle the pain I am in now. I hope it works for others. Just thought I would share my experience.Read More Read Less

For 7 years I tried Statins, and 6 other meds for ldl with either no affect or untolerable side effects. Then I started every 2 weeks Repatha and cut my ldl from 140's to 40-50. Only side effect was some hair loss so was able to take it every 3 weeks, still some hair loss but ldl still stayed 40-50. Been on it for 6 years and now my insurance won't authorize it, so I am bummed. I am a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic, have had a TIA 23 years ago with heart disease in my immediate family and the insurance company decided to play with my life. It worked for me!Read More Read Less

Had not had any bad side effects. But I am losing weight. Which is not a bad thing if I was really heavy but I am not. I've been eating basically the same diet I had before I started and I feel like I am losing a little bit of weight every month. Have not heard anyone say anything about losing fat by taking this medication.

This has definitely helped my high cholesterol. I’ve been on repatha for 4 months. For about a couple weeks now, my knees hurt and I can barely put weight on one knee. I also experience restless legs and arms and barely get the amount of sleep I need. I can’t see my doctor for another 2 months and I’m at my wits end with RLS.

I was able to take Repatha for 9 months with minimal side effects that included back pain, headache, and a runny nose. Because my back pain was continuous for a few months, my oncologist ordered a scan. Fortunately, all was clear. However, about 5 months after that I had what I can only think must have been some kind of allergic reaction. Within 30 minutes of taking my bi-monthly dose, I began having difficulty breathing and felt flu symptoms along with immediate fatigue. I went to bed and slept for several hours. Needless to say my daughter was concerned and monitored my condition. The next day I felt drained. Since that time I have had shortness of breath almost all the time. I have also developed local (for Central Texas) allergies that have gotten progressively worse over the last 5 years since I took Repatha. Of course I discontinued the medicine but i have wondered if others have experienced the breathing issues.Read More Read Less

Cholesterol is lower, but the side effects are intolerable. I took three doses, one every two weeks. By the third shot, I felt like I was coming apart at the seams. Terrible joint pain, lethargy, pins and needles all over. I have dark bags under my eyes like I haven't slept well for weeks, but I absolutely crash every night. The worst part is it takes this junk forever to leave the system -- the half life is really long. I know this works well for some people, but I am not one of them. I cannot tolerate statins either, so I'm going to look at more natural and holistic solutions. Taking calcium pyruvate helps, as does additional B vitamins. Conventional medicine is really terrible at managing side effects from cholesterol medication.Read More Read Less

I am a 66 year old male who has had high cholesterol (210+) for most of my adult life. I exercise daily and have a very healthy diet both of which do not effect my cholesterol numbers. I am allergic to statin drugs and have tried everything else with no success. In January 2022 my doctor prescribed Repatha and I began injecting 140 mg/ml once every two weeks. My cholesterol dropped to the mid 90s which was a first. In July I began to notice that my joints were aching more than normal and it was difficult to motivate to do my daily hour of exercise. Around August the brain fog started and I began to feel very tired all of the time. In September my right toe became swollen and the pain was excruciating. It lasted about a week before returning to normal, but a dull throb in the joint of my big toe remained constant. With all that was going on, I realized the only thing that had changed in my routine was Repatha. I went online and found where other people were experiencing similar issues and immediately spoke with my doctor. My last injection was end of September and by December my brain fog lifted and my joint pain is gone. I am almost back to feeling as I did prior to beginning the injections. Read More Read Less

It worked really well bring my Cholesterol numbers down lower that they have ever been, but the side effects are terrible. Have spoke to the doctor the put me on this medication, and two other doctors. It's like they don't believe me or just don't listen. I'm 75 yrs old was very active , use to walk at least 3 miles a day, gym 3 to 4 times a week, unending energy before Rapatha. Now my legs feel like I have weights on them, they hurt very bad most days and my energy level is zero most days . My numbers are down , so is my quality of life.Read More Read Less

Cholesterol is lower and feel better for it. Couldn't tolerate Statins but very few reactions from Repatha apart from brain fog, some lethargy and night sweats in first year or so of taking it. Been on it for a few years now and like with some medications you need to develop a tolerance, unless your reactions are severe of course. I find Injecting into the upper arm easiest.

Statins caused issues with Mr as it did with many people. So I was placed on the,Repartha program when this medication first surfaced. OT works very effectively. Initially I did not notice any relevant side effects. But within the 3 year period , and looking back at it, certain symptoms did creep up every so often. They where, consistent runny Nose when more active, giddyness at time, feeling unwell at times, head fog at times. Then my lower calf's started to feel strange. This would come on more frequent over the months. In recent months sensations ending up right to my buttocks. They are sensations of muscle tingling, weird frizzy feeling, eventually muscle weakness sensation and muscles feeling warmish when resting. I did not associate any if this with my Repartha medication, so I went to my Doc who sent me to a Neurologist who in turn found my nerves not working as they should. Then it occurred to me that it could be my medication. It is the only one I take. So I stopped taking it. It's only been a week but think I am improving. I am suspecting the cause being Repartha. I am on a strict Whole Plant base diet. I will just stick to that. This diet protects my endophelium... inner artery lining from being damaged by oxidisation and ldl cholesterol. This may be enough. I don't think it being helpful in trying to reduce cholesterol and then bring on another serious issue. Read More Read Less

On my second dose of Repatha because I cannot tolerate statins at all. I'm wondering just what is going on with my system. It's like side effect spin-the-wheel. One day it's bad muscle cramps. The next, non-stop runny nose. Then it's horrible sore throat. Then it might go back to muscle cramps. Why?!? I never know what I'm going to wake up with. I can find no information anywhere as to WHY Repatha would be causing these bizarre effects. Is it immune related? Is it higher inflammation? Is it low-level allergic reaction? I'm not taking another injection until I can consult with my doctor. My personal opinion is that this drug should be reserved for people with severe conditions or multiple conditions, not just high cholesterol. I put "fair" for effectiveness because I have no idea if it's effective or not. Haven't been checked again since I've been on it.Read More Read Less

I do not use the sure click method. I get the profiled syringe. It is very easy to give myself an injection. More importantly there is no Pain. None. The drug when injected does not burn. A year ago I used the sure click method 2 times over a month and I told myself no more. What hurts is the force of the injection by the sure click. The profiled syringe I inject myself very very slowly. I may take over a minute to empty the vial. Two of my Dr.'s said that Repatha was not available in a profiled syringe. I knew from the company website that they were wrong. My primary Dr. finally got it for me.Read More Read Less

I switched due to severe muscle pains and cramps with statins plus they were no longer lowering my LDL I have ringing in my ears anyway, but noted an increase after starting Repatha, also noticed some redness and skin discoloration on my cheeks that coincides with starting Repatha. However, this is tolerable considering the absence of the leg pain and cramps. I am much more mobile.
