I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 22. After trying a few drugs with hideous effects that worsened my condition, by doctor recommended this. I have used it now for 4 years and it has saved my life. This drug can be used to treat manic depression, though it is not widely prescribed for the condition. If you are suffering or know someone suffering from this condition, please recommend ...

The drowsiness caused by this medication caused me to get into an accident. This drug should be banned.

I am 22 years old and i have been on Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine) since i was 15, due to partal complex seizures. The only times i feel uncomfortable with this medication is when i took a pill 1/2 two times daily. i would feel dizzy, tired and have extreme dry mouth. i asked my doctor if i could take it, one pill three times daily and that was fine, rather than the pill 1/2 in the morning and again at night. i havent had side effects from it since i switched the dossage level/times. with out trileptal i have seizures regularly, some worse than others. Trileptal has made a huge difference in my confidence with epilepsy.Read More Read Less
