My Dr told me that there were NO side effects from this drug. After only 3 doses, I had excruciating abdominal pain/bloating, severe headache and dizziness. I should have researched the side effects before purchasing ($90)! Another side effect is hair loss, which i told her i was experiencing and want my thyroid levels checked. The physicians don't care...all about the money for them. A few ye ... Show Full Comment

Started out in June (now late Nov). Has helped with dryness and discomfort. I am not sexually active in anyway. Thought I was becoming allergic to toilet paper! Have gained 4 to 5 pounds, feel some bloating and breast enlargement.

I am taking Vagifem for dryness and painful intercourse. It has cured that, but now I am wondering if the morning headaches and the weight gain are side effects. I worry about cancers risks as well so not sure what I will do.

The doctor recommended Vagifem as an antidote to the fact that i was having 'honeymoon' cystitis owing to the fact that i've hit menopause but still enjoy an active sex life. It has been relatively effective as far as the cystitis is concerned but after a few months of using it i now have abdominal pains, bloating and thrush. NOT conducive to satisfactory sex!

I have been using it for dryness and other menopausal symptoms such as urinary discomfort. I use 2 tablet per week and has been very effective. I am not sure if it is cause and effect but I have not experienced hot flashes since using this medicine. It is expensive medicine though.
