I have been using Vaniqa now for 6 weeks. The reduction in facial hair being problematic has been remarkable! I find myself hardly having to pluck hairs anymore, which has dramatically improved the quality of my life. I suffered for too long with unsightly hair and Vaniqa has not only retarded the growth of facial hair at an incredible rate, it has also been gentle to my skin and I can tell you t...

Vaniqa deliberately misled customers by failing to explain that one must buy 2 tubes of their product to qualify for the $50 rebate. I purchased one tube for $93.00 as a trail purchase, expecting the full rebate, but I received a check for only $25.00. It was not until I called the company (very long wait, by the way) that they explained how their rebate actually works. Be aware that “up to $50”...

I have used Vaniqua for over 5 years. It is expensive and not covered by insurance. It doesn't seem to work for me, but I'm afraid to stop using it it case it is having some minimal effect. It may work for some. It is a big, expensive disappointment for me.

Hi everyone, I just started using this cream. I can't really give a full review, as of yet. I am hoping I can give a great review in a few weeks/months. I do however have a question for the other women who have used this. Did you shave the area prior to using the cream? If so, did you start getting little white "bumps" on the area? I am getting married in October and need this hairy chin and neck GONE!! Any hope? Thank you,

I was at the end of my rope with facial hair increasing and I was becoming depressed by it. I remembered that I had heard about Vanilqa and thought it was time to give it a try.Nothing else gave me relief. My skin was even becoming distorted from tweezing and shaving. I looked horrible! I have my first tube of Vaniqa and have been using it for about 2 months. I am AMAZED. It has slowed down facial hair growth about 90% and has affected the density of hair about 99%. The few hairs now that grow are so thin and almost not visible that I am a happy woman now! It truly is life-changing and I can be social again. I regret my inherited genetics but now Vaniqa allows me to deal with it so easily. I will gladly cut out some other expenses to afford this purchase every 6-8 months or so! I wish everyone good luck with this product! Read More Read Less

I started using Vaniqa in 2005, only using around my mouth. I have been without it from time to time, mainly because of the cost. Always so glad to start using it again as I can really tell the difference without it. Vaniqa saves me time everyday as I don't always have to puck and when I do there are only a few sparce hairs.

Save your money. I used it for two months and it really had no effect on hair growth. And, the big reason I wanted to take it was that plucking has a side effect of causing ingrown hairs and sores around them. These got worse, so I stopped using the Vaniqa. What a waste of $160, wish they gave a money back guarantee!

Within around 2 days after beginning this treatment I developed blistering and redness and eventually the blisters broke and produced a clear liquid. I feel this is a cream developed for those with very robust facial skin. Just because you have strong hairs, doesn't mean that the underlying skin is not sensitive. To my great dismay, as this did appear to deter the strong growth, I am unable to use this.

Great product. Extremely high price. This company is raping the average american woman who most cannot afford this product. A tube lasts a year if used correctly. But, this company has the corner market on this product. No other company has this product and there is no safe generic form. I started using this 4 years ago and it works wonders. It was under 100 bucks at the time. It is now up to 200. If this company really wants to help consumers, they need to stop raping us with the high cost of this medication that most people other than the rich and famous, can afford. Lower your prices.Read More Read Less

I have PCOS i felt hopeless in getting rid of this facial hair. I had to use tweezers at night and shave in the day. That left dark marks all over my face. i finally started using the cream and it is wonderful, even lightened the dark marks. My hair on my head started thinning so i thought it was the cream and stopped using it. It was not the cream i don't think so i will start again. Everyone noticed my face looked lighter, i love the cream but hate the price $150.00 a tube. Please get a generic and quick.Read More Read Less

I'm feeling a bit "fraudulent" posting this way, as I haven't tried Vaniqa yet, but I'm really hoping for a response from someone here who has. So, I gave it 3 stars to be "fair" somewhat, & will change it after I use it and know how it works on me. My question is: I'm post-meno, and do have some of the "terminal" hair growth they talk of, mostly on my upper lip, plus about 5 on my chin. Those are all easily handled with plucking &/or waxing. The thing that bothers me, though, is the peach fuzz everywhere else on my face, particularly my cheeks on over to the very sides of cheeks & on down & around that entire area. (Don't really care about it on the forehead area. Just the cheeks & sides are most-obvious.) These are the normal hairs everyone has (in almost-invisible form), and they aren't any darker than they ever were. In fact, they're still blond, but they're way thicker, I think longer and just plain more noticeable than they were pre-meno. I long-ago stopped using foundation make-up because it accentuated these hairs all the more. But now (I'm age 61, but told I look 40... except these pesky hairs, maybe) even w/o the make-up, I've noticed the hairs even in some photos. I've already been told lasers won't work on them b/c they aren't dark. About a decade ago I tried waxing 1 time & about tore the skin off, so that's out. And shaving isn't an option either. Does anybody have an idea of what might work to just thin these sides-of-the-face hairs out to within reasonable norms again? I don't need to get rid of them entirely, just have them back to what they were. In reading about Vaniqa, it's been hard to determine if it would work in my situation. It mentions the dark "mustache"-type hairs, but I haven't found any descriptions of the kind I'm talking about. TIA for any help out there. I know you guys get it about how embarrassing this can be.Read More Read Less

I've been using Vaniqa for about 10 years. Excess hair on my upper lip & chin has been a problem for me since about the age of 12 & became considerably worse when I hit menopause. Vaniqa has keep the problem in check. The hair is now finer, lighter &, I think, even shorter. I can sometimes go a few weeks between tweezings rather than every day or two. My only complaint is the price. The manufacturer knows it has a captive clientele (no generic is available) & has almost doubled the cost in the time I have been using Vaniqa. Read More Read Less

Small problem with facial hair before menopause but since menopause it has become a bigger problem.I have used hair removal creams regularly for about ten years. Finally I told my NHS doctor about the problem and he said he could prescribed Vaniqua for me.I have been astounded at the immediate results.I feel great not having troublesome hair appearing soon after using removal creams.I use a thin film twice a day but it has been so successful I am going to try once each day as I may not need to use it twice daily. Vaniqa is very expensive but I get it free with NHS presciption because I am a pensioner. Anyone suffering unwanted facial hair should give Vaniqa a try.I wish I had learnt about it sooner. I think this product is amazing. Completely transformed my life. I am finally free of facial hair. Gone. I read somewhere that 5% of users have complete loss of facial hair. 30% have significant results. 30% have minor results. 25% have no results at all. I have had some hair loss on my head, but I am parting my hair a different way. I can live with this. I have had no other side effects (acne, rashes etc). Facial hair has impacted on my whole adult life, particularly on my self esteem and confidence. I have been taking Vaniqa for two months.. I hope it doesn't end. Give it a go if you have facial hair. You might transform your life.Read More Read Less

It works!! I have had facial hair since my 20's, am now 70, and finally something that works. I just don't get it close to the hair on my head so no problems. Even if I did it would be worth it.

I wrote an earlier review on this drug. At that time, I had made the tube last for 6 months I think. I have now been using Vaniqa for 2 years and I want to review it again. First, the pharmacist told me to use very little. I did that and I made the tube last for almost a year. When they say a small amount, they mean it. To use more could cause side effects. And before I start my review, I do want to say that though it is expensive, Vaniqa does give a rebate of 25 to 35 dollars for a tube. So making it last almost a year brought the price down to abt. 10 dollars a month. It works great for me. I used to tweeze twice a day for almost 35 to 40 minutes each time. Now I don't even have to tweeze twice a day. I'm down to once a day. And it takes only about 10 minutes to tweeze now. As for bumps and acne, I don't use the drug in a circular motion. I use short downward strokes and doing this has helped me to not have follicle bumps or any acne from it. Before I started doing that, I would have bad acne and follicle bumps. I tweeze after using it, the drug seems to make the hairs stand up a bit better to tweeze. I have very dark chin and neck hairs and even though they come back in, I have found they come back in lighter in color(could be age!) and not as coarse. It has really helped my quality of life. I am no longer embarrassed to go out at a moment's notice because of facial hair. Sometimes I can feel the hairs more than I can see them. I would definitely recommend this product. Laser costs around 1500 bucks last time I checked. I've spent 300 dollars in two years. (I just bought a new tube which has more product in it and they gave me a 35 dollar rebate and will last more than a year.) And laser doesn't always work on certain hair types. If you have gray or white hairs on your face, I've been told lasers won't work. So though this drug is expensive, for me, it is well worth it. It has made a big difference for me and am so glad that I'm using this drug.Read More Read Less

I've had dark hair on my chin and neck since I was about 17 years old. I'm now 51 and hate the stubble. Electrolysis is expensive and requires hair growth, which I'm not willing to do. Waxing and hair removal creams have proven ineffective, and, even worse, rash producing. Tweezing has been my go to method of removal, but that has always been time consuming and my skin was often red and blotchy. Plus, the stubble would return in the early evening after spending an hour tweezing in the morning. Enter Vaniqa. As others have said, it is not a cure-all, but it has, in less than two months' time, slowed the regrowth of the chin hair tremendously. Tweezing is down to about every third day, and any regrowth is lighter, with any dark hairs come out with the bulb. Some of the lighter hairs come out this way too. I've noticed an increase in baby soft fuzz and a reduction in the dark, stubbly hair. The hair that does grow in is a bit brittle at times, breaking easily if I try to remove the hair too quickly. Message to self: tweeze slowly! The hair on my neck is taking longer to respond. I continue to apply the medication here as well, and do see improvement, though nothing like the marked improvement on my chin. My skin has reacted surprisingly well, considering I'm very fair skinned and can get a rash with the wrong soap or detergent. No rash to report and only minimal sting at times, usually if it is less than 30 mins. after tweezing. I've faithfully applied Vaniqua twice a day, which is the bare minimum for this to work. About once a week I manage to get three applications in during a 24-hour period. Since I'm just under the two-month mark in using Vaniqa, I expect things will only continue to improve. Expensive? Yes. I pay $158 for the larger tube. Not having my boyfriend think I'm growing a beard? Priceless! Read More Read Less

I have been using this cream for over 11years. The dark hair on my chin area was really hard to remove at times, like it was deep and very strong- rooted. There was no way to keep up with tweezing and re- growth; if I had shaved, the black shaft would have been visible through my skin. Vaniqa twice a day, and what hair grows in is thinner, finer, lighter, and often has no root. I tweeze every few days and don't feel like a hostage to my mirror anymore. Sometimes get small bumps where a new hair is trying to grow in; I can tweeze the bump, it removes the thin layer of skin, and then I can pull the emerging hair. Sometimes an ingrown hair, but just keep on top of it. My present husband of four years never even suspected a hair problem! WELL WORTH THE MONEY and one tube lasts quite a long time. I also use Spironolactone.Read More Read Less
