Inserted on 9/11/06 and thought yeah no more pills. Bleed for 6 weeks, just like after the recent pregnancy. Gained 30 lbs and had some bladder problems. Removed on 4/29/2008 and loving it. No more bladder leakage and lost 5 lbs with in the first week. Everyone that I work with all have had the same complaints about the weight gain. I was also constantly moody with no period. I just got it inserted yesterday. It was painful, but bareable since it only took a few minutes. I had sharp cramps go up my left side. My doctor gave me some motrin. I felt slightly nauseas and a little dizzy on and off the rest of the day. This morning my back aches and i have slight cramping. Generally, how I would feel on the first day of my period. Today is my 1 month anniversay with Mirena. I did not have any cramping or other side effects like others. I had on and off spotting for the first 2 weeks. I have been bleeding for the past 11 days. well so far so good! I just had the Mirena inserted yesterday, I haven't even had it in for a day and the cramping has already stopped. I haven't noticed anything else happening just yet but like I said it's only been a day. It works very good as far as for avoiding pregnancy..the side effects is what is bad..Starting with very bad back ache..mood swings..Until I read diffrent articles here and my primary Dr. told me the reason for my backache was Mirena and get it removed i really beleive him I going to get it taken out asap..the backache is so bad over the counter meds don't work...I'd rather take pills...
