I am allergic to amoxicillin and sulfa drugs. Zpac is a lifesaver for me and it works so quickly. I always feel better after the first day of taking it. I have had no side effects.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THIS DRUG!! Yes it is a common antibiotic, but if you are like me, you should not take it. I have an allergy to amoxil and any others in its family. I took this drug for a simple sore throat, I was on day 4 of it and thought it was time I saw a doctor. They tested me for Strep and it came back negative, but they gave me an antibiotic anyway. Was givem Zithromax Z-Pak for bronchitis. Liked the idea of only 5 days but I am thinking that was a bit strong for me. I have never had side effects to an anti-biotic in my life but they have been the usual 10 day regiment. I had some side effects the first day but countered it with a probiotic. But on the 5th day the nausea started and got worse from there. Food tastes horrible and constant feeling of wanting to vomit.Doubt I will ever take this again.

My husband took this medication for tick fever. The tick fever is back. But the main thing is the severe left arm and chest pain he has had since he took it. I'm not sure at this point what will happen or fix the problem, but I never want him taking this medicine again. He is in constant pain.

I just wanted to mention to everyone: I don't tolerate this medication normally, but because I get sinus infections all the time and travel for work constantly, I need this medication because of it's strength and speed in dealing with the infection. I get a prescription for Zofran (an anti-nausea medication) alongside the Z-Pak so I won't throw up and thus have limited side effects. If you have problem with nausea, I highly recommend calling your doctor and asking for something for the nausea instead of just choosing not to finish your prescription. Read More Read Less

I've taken the Z-pack before but usually don't doubke up on the first day to avoid possible stomach issues..which usually works, and I feel better the second day. This time, due to being a caregiver to my mom who has Cancer and in chemo, I took the double dose .. Little tummy trouble..nothing horrible , but I think the key is to skip that double dose and just do 6 days of it as apposed to 5.. And eat before you take it. Other then that, I've found this drug clears up severe ear infection, sinus and step and tooth infections like a magic pill.. But definitely try it with the single doses if you are worried about stomach issues ( diareaha, cramping, nausea, gas, vomiting ) Read More Read Less

I took this drug for a simple sore throat, I was on day 4 of it and thought it was time I saw a doctor. They tested me for Strep and it came back negative, but they gave me an antibiotic anyway. Within 30 mins of taking the first dosage of the Z pack, I was dizzy, weak, nauseated, all in all, I felt like I was going to die. I threw up for about 7 hours, called my doctor and they gave me a pill to stop the nausea. I could barely sleep that whole night. The next morning, I started throwing up again. I felt like someone took a sledgehammer to my wrists, neck, knees, and calfs. The joint and muscle pain was so awful I couldn't even stand or walk. My insides felt like they had been rearranged. If I sat down, they would hurt like a vibrating jello mold. I couldn't go to the bathroom at all. Then by the evening I started developing a tingling in my finger tips and then hands. Not all the time, just if I stood up too quick or walked around for more than a minute. Please consider taking a different antibiotic if you have any allergies to medication. No one should feel this way at all.Read More Read Less

I'm severely allergic to amoxicillin and penicillin, and I'm mildly allergic to sulfa drugs, so I thought this would be okay to try. I've had it waaaay in the past and didn't recall any problems until now. I had the flu and bronchitis is what my doctor told me. He gave me the z pack. I went home eager to take it so I could have some relief. Every single day with it I have thrown up and had severe diarrhea. This is my last day on it, and I'm waiting for my stomach to finally throw the contents back up. It hasn't really helped at all, I still feel very sick, but it has gotten rid of about 1/3 of the mucus. I'm still in pain and it's given me anxiety and I've felt more sick, and I've had occasional ringing in my ears. I wouldn't take this if at all possible to avoid it.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed a 5 day Zpak for bronchitis. The very next day my bronchitis symptoms were relieved however the Zpak was making me feel awful. I had intense nausea, diarreah, stomach pain, body aches, muscle cramps, heartburn, rapid hear beat and shortness of breath. I am only on day 3 of my 5 day dose and my bronchitis symptoms are almost completely gone but this stuff is messing me up! I will not take the rest of the dose.

I have had severe diarrhea since starting this medication. I had to start taking a probiotic days after finishing the meds because the diarrhea was so bad. I also felt dizzy and had an upset stomach on this medication. I will not take this again!

I take a "z pac" several times a year. I have a compromised immune system due to having cancer and now being on Tamoxifen. I get the flu like symptoms often which we believe to be more allergies but the doctor always prescribes me a z pac and I feel better within a couple of days. I have learned the early signs of when I get sick so I can get it started as soon as possible before it becomes really bad. I love this medicine and haven't had any side effects from it.

I have a depressed immune system so anything I catch often turns into a major event. Fortunately this doesn't happen but maybe twice a year. If I can't beat whatever has me down in 3-4 days I call for a Z-Pak. I have been using Z-Paks for many years and for me it is a life saver! Never had any side effect. This stuff is a miracle drug for me, a set of magic pills.

My physician prescribed Azithromycin for me after I felt the first signs of the flu. I did not experience any side effects, "But every one is different." I also have a compromised immune system. This medication worked well for me. I have also used this medication once before. The best thing for me is to not read the side effects pamphlet. Instead I put the pamphlet in a drawer and look at it only if I am feeling something other than normal. This is the second time I have taken Azithromycin and it has worked well for me.Read More Read Less

Z Pac is not my choice, have refused it in the past, but this time my doctor advised that this was the best med for my condition. I was skeptical at best. I can be very sensitive to meds and did have some side effects mentioned like some stomach upset, dizziness, lethargy, spaceyness but not sure how much was from the Z Pac, the cough syrup or the illness. To combat the stomach issues, I took the pill(s) in the middle of a substantial (not light) snack or meal and it really helped! Did not create bowel problems although I am very prone to that side effect with meds. Bottom line was that it did work on my infections and I did feel better as days passed. MAY have been faster with other drugs but find this to have longer lasting positive effects. Like the idea of only one pill a day after the first day - is so much easier to work around (like eating heavier meal when taking it). Read More Read Less

I took this after having a good sized meal to make sure there wouldn't be any stomach upset. Had very slight bowel irritation with it but not enough to stop taking it. Worked well, would take again if necessary.

I have taken this product Zithromax for several bad sinus infections through the year and it was wonderfulI got well with no side effects whatsoever. The only time I had any side effects was when the Pharmacy suggested I try a generic brand . I had to take it back each time and replace it with with the original brand . All the generic brands burned my stomach and made me sick to my stomach.I would rather pay more and be well than save money and be ill. Thank you for your pure ingredients. I am so happy because I am allergic to Penicillin so you are a lifesaver. God Bless ! Read More Read Less

I was given this to combat pressure in both ears, especially the left.It may have relieved the pressure-which is now back after a few months. But I endured 2 plus months of dizziness and the dizziness was so bad I was given an MRI to see if anything worse was in my head. Nothing showed in the MRI. I am alergic to penicillin and have been given this in the past with no trouble. But having had Chemo for Waldenstrom's this past year (blood bone marrow condition now in remission) the Z-Pak had me walking in cicles for 2 months. I could not close my eyes in the shower and turn I was so dizzy. I will never take this again. If battling other illnesses watch out and stop at the first sign of a balance problem.Read More Read Less

Had headache for over a week, nausea, fatigue, among other symtoms. Dr. prescribed this for severe sinus infection, upon taking the initial first two tablets, after about an hour I already could feel my sinus cavities start to clear up. WOW,what a relief from having all the above symptoms. Little bit of upset stomach,if you eat modest meal with each dose, it helped me. Would rather have slight upset stomach than a sinus infection. Would definitely ask my Dr. for this again for sinus issues.

NEVER AGAIN! Although it got rid of the bronchitis, it turned my life upside down. I got severe diarrhea starting on the last day of meds and it lasted approx. 5 months. Got referral to see gastroenterologist who had me try fiber supplements/probiotics/ diet change- I even had to get a colonoscopy. Heart palpitations started a week after finishing meds- so bad that it would wake me up in middle of night. I honestly thought this medicine was slowly killing me - gave me such severe anxiety that my Dr put me on alprazolam which was my life saver. This medicine took away 5 months of my life that I will never get back. My grandmother lost her hearing for over 1 year after taking this and my aunt had diarrhea just like me but hers has never improved- she has lost control of anal tone and now has no control over her bowels despite seeing specialists. I wish I would have read reviews before taking z-pak.Read More Read Less
