Have had headaches for years trying quite a few medications with no success. Last year I was prescribed Axert and regret never hearing about it before! It is costly, but the time I spent in bed and missing life, it's well worth it!!!! Pain is gone within 1 hour.

WOW!!! Within 2 minutes I KNEW I took the wrong medication!!! Something felt wrong inside and then my heart rate went through the roof and I had the feeling inpending doom! I was really hopeful for this drug as I get migrains ALL the time, but I can't have my heart rate getting to well over 150. It DID calm down, thankfully, but 3 hours later my chest still hurts from my hear betting so hard! Oh ...

Axert has been a lifesaver for me. I can take one at the onset of a Migraine and within 45 minutes be almost pain free. Having suffered migraines for 30 years I am very happy to find something that works so well.

This medication allows me to keep working and usually the headache goes away without having to take the second dose.

I have had migraines since i was 16.Nothing really worked until Axert 12.5. I try to catch the migraine early as the medicine is more effective.I do have to take a second dose when I don't. I only wait one hour tho because I know by then if the first dose is working . I had tried sumtripan Imitrex and it never worked for me so there is something in this one that is better.

I have tried so many drugs and this is the only one that works. It isn't immediate, but it does work. I get Botox every 3 months and take Propranol for a daily preventive and now only get migraines 2 times a month compared to almost daily.

My headache is very serious & I cannot even talk when I have my migraine. If I took one dose of Axert, it won't work well. I need to take 2 doses.

This medication didn't even begin to get rid of the pain, in fact, it just added to it with more pain! I ended up with severe back pain (it felt like the pain was in my bones)! I hope it works for somebody.

My migraines tend to be moderate most of the time, and Axert has worked for me when I fail to take an OTC pain reliever (like ibuprofen) in time, which is a real life-saver because otherwise nothing will even touch the headache. Sometimes it gievs me a very slight tingly numbness in my hands and feet, but it's nothing I would consider too bothersome.

Don't know how I got along without Axert. It has been a life-saver for me. You just have to be sure and not wait too late to take it, must be taken as soon as you notice the symptoms. One time mine came on during the night and I didn't get up and take one. I paid for that one! I have to take the second one about half of the time. I agree that it is very expensive, about $20 a pill, but migraine sufferers agree that we'd pay much more than that when a migraine hits! I never leave home without it. I have had times when it didn't totally get rid of my headache and I had to additionally take Excedrin Migraine. That may be overkill, but the combination seems to work. Dr. tried me on Topomax and I WILL NEVER TRY THAT AGAIN. It had the worse side effects I've ever seen, plus it didn't even get rid of all the migraines.Read More Read Less

I have had really bad migraines for years and this is the first medication that I have taken that knocks them out almost immediately. I have had very good results.

This medicine works well for me, because there are so many meds I can't take due to ulcerative colitis and the meds I take for it. I also liked this medication because I could take it and still function without being too sleepy or "spacy".

This medication is magic! I have been suffering from migraines since I was a teenager, but within the past two yrs, I have had to quit my job and go on Disability due to the frequency (4-5 per wk) and intensity of the episodes. I have been on Imitrex, Amerge, and Maxalt, at different times, and also Topamax as a maintenance drug (not very helpful in preventing the headaches). The doctor just switched me to Axert because my insurance would cover it, with smaller co-pay than the Maxalt. Talk about a blessing in disguise---Axert works in 1-2 hrs and takes the pain away completely. The other meds would usually leave a slight trace of headache, but not this. I would urge anyone with intractable migraine pain to try this at least once. A miracle may be waiting for you. Read More Read Less

this medicine has worked the best for me after trying several others including imitrex, relpax, and maxalt. axert doesn't make me feel like my throat or chest is tightening like the others did. it doesn't seem to work as fast as the others did, but perhaps it just felt like the others worked sooner because i felt side effects quicker.

I find that of the triptan medications (imitrex, relpax, axert) this one works the best for me with the fewest side effects. It doesn't make me drowsy or feel wierd. But I would also say it only works on my mild to moderate migraines. My severe ones require something stronger.

This is the only migraine meds that work for me. I take a pill as soon as i get a headache, it allows me to go ahead with my work without having to lay down. I can keep going. 1 pill usally does the trick.

I get migraines (4-5 a week) I've tried many other meds and have been living on vicoden and fiorcet which only dulls it enough that I could function. Axert took about an hour and a half to work but my headache was completely gone
