This drug has been effective, but left my knees feeling full, if that makes sense. I still can't kneel on them yet. I guess the pain is less, but now I'm getting other pain under my knee caps. So the jury is still out for me. I'd take anything - just trying to prolong replacements.

I HAVE ONE MORE SHOT TO COMPLETE THE 5 THAT WERE SUGG BY MY SURGEON. UNDERGOING DEPRESSION. I AM 40YRS OLD AND FEEL 70. I CANT WALK. EVEN SLEPPING AT NIGHT IS HORRIBLE. I HAVE CONSTANT PAIN, SADLY MORE THEN BEFORE I STARTED THE "TREATMENT". I WOULD NEVER RECOMM IT TO ANYONE. I AM USING A WALKER TO HELP SUPPORT MY STEPS, TOTAL MESS. THE INJECTIONS ARE VERY PAINFUL.I WISH I HAD NEVER HAD THEM DONE.

After reading others comments on the injection itself, mine only hurt a little. It's been 6 weeks since the 1st, and they have not helped me at all. In fact, my pain is often worse. I personally, would not recommend them.

I started getting Zupartz injections some 3 years ago-2 series of 5 weekly a year. They worked beautifully and reduced much of the pain. A year ago or so, Medicare in their stupidity stopped approving although many patients were very happy. After almost a year with many complaints, medicare relented and I started again- from scratch. Medicare has had other cases were where good medication was halted. I think the Medicare decision makers must be replaced.

I have been receiving 6 month injections since 11/26 and am very pleased. I have osteoarthritis and tried p.t. at first. I am at about 95% mobility now thanks to supartz and can work out and walk 18 holes easily. Now, my new ins will not pay for it and wants me on Euflexxa. I am appealing and asking my specialist to assist. The reports on this site regarding euflexxa are not encouraging. I don't understand why my ins is determining my teatment vs my Dr. , especially since I was told by the ins that I would be covered prior to signing up with them.Read More Read Less

I had a knee injury and we tried PT first to see if that helped alieviate the pain. When it didn't work my Dr recomended Supartz injections. The first one wasn't too bad but the second one hurt. By the fifth injection I was back to running about 3 miles. I didn't have any swelling or pain anymore. If you have made it through the first three injections stick with it, it works! If it didn't work I was told that I would need surgery. I will say that I wasn't able to do lunges or squats and now I can do them without any pain or feeling like me knee is going to give out. I'm only 28 too.Read More Read Less

I have been suffering with extreme knee pain for 17 years(I am 30). I have had nseveral surgeries already with no success. After seeing a new Dr. he reccommend this. Not a pleasant thing to get...a lot of pressure. I just had my 2nd of 5 today and this was more painful than the first. After the first one I was stiff (felt like cement in the joint) & had some pain for 5 days afterwards. I hope this time isn't as bad. I'm optimistic that it will bring some relief.

Had my first of three shots. No pain in the giving of the shot (I have a high tolerance for pain). Used ice packs first day. No major inflamation. Had some minor relief thus far. Had no side effects. This is not a cure for future knee replacement. But did eleviate some pain thus far.Highly recommend an orthopedic doctor giving the shots, not a nurse.

I am a 73 year old female with osteoarthritis. After just one injection I am pain free, but it's only been 4 days so I don't know how long it will last.

Just received injections (both knees) two days ago. Next morning my knees worked better than in quite a while. Injections were painful but tolerable and injection pain lasted only a few minutes. Pressure for the next few hours and into the evening made joint feel very full. Second day after first treatment was better. I did not stop taking my pain meds (naprosin 500 twice a day) I also take Type II Collagen, Glucosamin/condroitin (plenty) ,HA supplement, and O-3 fish oil. I am 52 now and have had problems with my knees for about 8 years now. My doc also told me that I am not quite ready for partial replacement (only outer has lost most of the cartilage) but getting up in the morning or walking more than a block was getting really tough. I'm looking forward to the next two sets of injections and will write a follow-up review of my treatment and progress. Read More Read Less

Almost pain free for 4 mo. Going to have it again. The injection was pain free as my Dr. had his nurse squirt some topical from a spray can at time he was injecting site.

It has been 4 weeks since my last of 5 injections. Total time since first injection is 9 weeks now. Most painful injections I have ever received. I had both knees injected. Pain continues for 48 hours, impossible to sleep night of injection, due to pain. I am in more pain now than before the injections. I have been to 4 doctors now about my knee problem, at age 53 I have been told I am too young for knee replacement. Last doctor suggested Supartz as the only option. I have loss weight, exercised, to no avail. I do not suggest anyone try these injections.I have trouble walking, climbing stairs, just general moving. I can only hope to find a pain medication that works.Read More Read Less

Very painful injection - knee stayed sore from injection for about 12 hour, then fine. So far doing better than expected after 1st shot in series.

I have had 2 shots of a series of 5 in my right knee for osteoarthritis. Today was the 2nd. I had significant improvement after the 1st shot. Much less pain--limping almost 100% gone--taking less pain relievers, cut by more than half. There is the "full" sensation after/during the shot--doesn't hurt, just feels weird. The shot is not fun--painful, but tolerable. It is over so quick that with the extent of relief I have had so far, it is MORE than worth it. After the 1st shot, it felt uncomfortable for a day or two--I think because of the fluid and the shot site--the needle invasion, so to speak. But, the pain from worn down cartilage MUCH improved--I'd forgotten what it was like to walk without a limp! Well worth it as I am 53 and not looking forward to knee replacement.Read More Read Less

Injections no more than a bandaid. Just puts off knee replacement and adds to the misery and cost over all. Do NOT recommend these injections where much of the joint is already worn away. NOT a cure. Question these injections have caused severe dizziness and/or ataxia. NOT GOOD.

The treatment releived my pain in both knees temporarily. I was told by my physician that insurance will pay for the injections once every 6 mos.Unfortunately the treatment only lasted about 60 days.

I have RA and the doctor thought this would help. But it has not. My knees are now worse than when we started six weeks ago. The knees fill with fluid so fast that the meds do not have a chance to work. The last injection my knee had filled with so much fluid over one week that I could not walk well at all and I am not one to complain. The Doctor drained my knee then injected the Supartz into the knee. Less than 12 hours later my knee is more swollen than before and the Doctor tells me that he will not drain them again. I could not believe it. So No I am not happy with this Med. Read More Read Less
