Tazorac has been very effective for me in reducing my adult/hormonal/cystic acne...it has also radically reduced my fine lines around my mouth, eyes and on my forehead. My skintone is now even...no more blotchyness. The only drawback I experienced was the time my skin took to acclimate to Tazorac, about 6 weeks, before the redness, peeling & hyperactivity of blemishes subsided. This may be because I...

I'be be on this for a while to treat acne and if anything its made either no difference or made it worse. My skin became extremely sensitive to the sunlight even being out less than 30 minutes in the sun causing bad burning for me which I have never had happen before taking. :(

When I turned 18, I started to get horrible breakouts all over my face. I had never had acne problems before that. My doctor prescribed many different topical gels, but Tazorac was the only topical cream that helped. This product is amazing. At first, your skin will look like it is getting worse. It will be very red, irritated and dry. But once this stuff starts to really do what its supposed to, it works. I promise you that. I went from having acne all over my face to not having any at all. If I ever have anther acne breakout, this will be the cream I will use to get rid of it. Awesome prouduct. Read More Read Less

Been using for 2 months. I am 52 and have the usual lines, very dry skin and large pores. This has worked to reduce the size of the pores and smooth my skin. I was a bit red, very dry and peeling for about the first two weeks. I found that Dr Denese Hydroshield Serum does NOT burn when you put it on your sensitive peeling area. Lancôme, Clinique, etc all produced burning sensations when I used them on the peeling areas (makes you wonder if they are really good for your skin??!?). I love this product. I am moving from the .05 Gel to the .1 Gel. Even my dermatologist complimented me on how soft and smooth my face is. She also told me to go ahead and start using it on my neck and chest area.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this drug for a psoriasis-like condition. I have exceptionally tough, hyper-pigmented skin on my hands and feet, they look like they've been burned in a fire. No cream or lotion has helped until Tazorac. Been using for about 60 days and really seeing results - the hands and feet look ugly right now as the burned-looking skin is slowly dissolving and the new, soft skin is emerging but it's beautiful to me. Still have a long way to go but am extremely happy with the results so far, I just have to remember to be patient because I want to use more than prescribed to speed up the results but when I do that it just ends up really irritating the skin. Tazorac it is a strong, serious drug; it does sting slightly and make my hands and feet quite itchy at times. It is not for everyone. But I can deal with the side effects because the results have been pretty spectacular. Also, my insurance did cover most of the cost when the doctor sent in the psoriasis diagnosis - at first they wouldn't until the doctor got involved. Read More Read Less

Tazorac is seriously awful. I was on a Differin/Benzaclyn combination, but still had a few pimples, so decided to ask for something new. Tazorac completely screwed up my face. I have never ever had acne this bad in my entire life, before I only had one or two pimples, now I've got at least 10+ bright red marks all over my face! Wish I'd never switched, my skin is painful and after 8 weeks I'm giving up on Tazorac, I just can't handle this anymore. Hope the damage clears quickly.

I am a physician in my late 40's still struggling with both black and white heads on my nose and cheeks. As instructed by my dermatologist, I apply each nite to cleansed, dried skin after I have applied moisturizer. I Control the flaking with a gentle mechanical hand held exfoliator device purchased over the counter 3 times per week. After 2 weeks, my acne has decreased by 90%. Hang in there as the flaking decreases as time passes. Tazorac has worked wonderfully for me.

I'm 23 and for the first time ever I'm dealing with really bad acne on my cheeks and a little on my forehead. I started using Tazorac 2 weeks ago and after reading some of the reviews, I think I'm a little bit calmed now since everyone experienced the same thing. It does hurt like crazy right now, my cheeks are super red but I barely have zits. Just a lot of red marks all over my cheeks. Though, I'm using any moisturizer before applying Tazorac, I think I'll start now since my skin is starting to peel and it's irritated. Overall, I believe the product will do it's miracle. I am 54 years old and have been using Tazorac 0.1% Gel for about 3 months. Before I started using this product which was recommended by my Dermatologist; my skin tone was very uneven, minor brown spots, large pores, previous acne scaring, fine lines around eyes and mouth and redness around my nasal area and still having some cystic acne. Since using the Tazorac my skin has improved 110%. The comments I have been getting from people are you look amazing and what have you been doing? Fortunately, I did not experience any of the drying side effects and maybe that is contributed to using Oil of Olay with SPF15 for sensitive skin all my adult life. I wish I had known about this product in my teenage years and for my childrens teenage years. I highly recommend Tazorac and find it easy to use daily.Read More Read Less

I am a 44 yr old female who started using Tazorac for adult acne in combination with Minocycline. Everywhere I put it on me broke out in a rash, face, chest back. My face burned so bad and peeled. I used CeraVe and stopped using Taz and it took over a week to clear up the rash and peeling. I've used many topicals in my life and most cause dryness but never a rash like this one. I can't continue using it. I looked like a burn victim. I didn't even mind the peeling so much as the rash on top of the acne.Read More Read Less

I have been using Tazorac for almost 2 years now for pigmentation, past acne scars and fine wrinkles. It works amazingly and also decreased the size of my large pores. My skin looks so much better and my doctor said that he found Tazorac works much better than Renova or other retinoids. BUT he told me to use it 1) every OTHER night, 2) apply only a pea size amount, 3) only use it with CerVe PM night time moisturizer (sold In drugstores) and 4) not to put it around the sides of the nose. That skin is too delicate. CerVe PM is the moisturizer recommended by Tazorac and my doctor. First I wash my face with sensitive skin cleanser (Fresh Soy Facial Wash) and pat dry. Then I apply CerVe PM moisturizer all over my face and wait a few minutes. Then I apply a small PEA size amount of Tazorac to my fingertip and dot it all over my forehead, cheeks and top of my nose. Then I blend into my skin. NOTE: do not put on the delicate undereye skin, eyelids or around the nose! I also found I can't put it on the droopy corners of my mouth (marionette lines) because they peel too much and it doesn't stop with continued use. You may find, however, that you can put it there. My skin is sensitive. And lastly, only put this on before bed every OTHER night if you are treating fine lines and wrinkles and pigmentation. On the off nights, still use CerVe PM on clean, dry skin. It contains ceramides that help rebuild your skin barrier. If you are using Tazorac, you must use a sunscreen of at least 30 EVERY day and stay out of the sun, of course, which is what caused most of my damage. Hope this helped. Read More Read Less

I’m 53 years old, in menopause and had no issues until I had surgery last August. Since then my hormones have been out of control….causing terrible cystic acne to reappear from my youth. We tried two different antibiotic treatments, without success. I’m now using topical…Aczone in the morning and Traczorac at night. Right now I can’t say I’m seeing any improvement. Today starts week four and I break out daily with new painful blemishes, but since I’ve hung in there this long, I will stick it out. My face too was raw initially, but I found using CeraVe was a life saver. I believe it’s the ceramides that really helped. Gone is the peeling and redness I was dealing with. I highly recommend it for those going throw the raw peeling stage. Read More Read Less

I LOVE tazorac. I use it every night on my face. It did make my face feel raw for the first couple of weeks, but now its fine. My face is smoother, old acne scars are almost gone, wrinkles are gone, acne is gone. I can finally go in public without makeup and not be embarressed! My derm dr and all her staff also use it! Dr said I can get rx for 3 yrs w/o having to go in for follo up appt, which is great bc derm office is always booked up with appts. I love tazorac!!

My Dermatologist perscriped this for Psoriasis and Sun Damage that caused huge dark spots on my face. I am to use this every night with a heavy moisturizer over it. Here is the results. It starts to burn and I feel the moisturizer is not even getting in to help. But my skin looks amazing. So, in order to stop the peeling I was having every two days, I mean it took the top layer off and it was as soft as a baby's butt. lol. I decreased it on my own to let my face rest and just breath. I don't even put on a moistuizer at night cause I am so oily. Sure enough, by morning, my skin was like an oil spill.. So it jump starts the skins natural process I think of renewing the skin cells. I just love it for the results, by the side effects, whew, they can be rough with the itching and stinging at times. You do get deal with it. But also, don't use other products that have acids in them. Goodness you are asking for trouble. I use over the counter products to wash with, and I love, love, love, this moistizer that helps bring it to look healthy. It's called. Embryalisse. Yes it has to be ordered, I do so on Amazon, you choose what you need for you skin type, I use for all skin types that way it can address if it's dry or oily. And it works wonders as a primer. Also I use less skin products on my skin cause it's just to much and it will cake-up. I use good makeup and make sure it light. Any questions write me, I will tell you how at nearly 60 with bad skin, I get compliments every day. Read More Read Less

i used this cream for one week and within the week my entire face peeled. i did not expect that to happen and i was surprised and it was difficult to disguise. I also broke out in several areas with pimples, which i have never had before. however, now that the peeling has stopped, and the pimples have gone away, my face has a nice clearer appearance. the brown spots appear lighter and the dry lines appear lessened due to my face is not as dry, as the new skin is fresher than what was under the layer that peeled off. For me, this product did take some time to get used to as well as see results from but I am very happy with it so far. I had a little irritation at first, but it went away after the first two weeks. When I did have irritation it was best soothed by using less products on my face and sticking to all natural remedies like olive oil. I highly recommend to anyone as my skin has never been better but remember it won't happen overnight and to use as directed.

I have a squamus cell carcinoma on my right shin. The Dermatologist wanted faster results with the Imiquimod cream treatment of this spot. I was aked to use TAZORAC first after washing the small carcinoma, then to apply imiquimod. Within three days this hideous chemical had begun to destroy the good skin adjacent to the small carcinoma and also grossly enlarged the area of the carcinoma, making a large swollen lump and delaying any healing. I personally want to sue the maker and the doctor. I have to wear a large bandage on my shin in order to wear slacks. This cream should be taken off the market at once. It contains both BHT and a form of ethylene, which are known carcinogens. CM WardRead More Read Less
