I take guaifenesin as part of the guaifenesin protocal for Fibromyalgia. It has been almost a complete salvation of allowing my to still function at a full time job and wean off most of the other prescribed meds I was on. I know that Fibro is not what guai is designed for, but when used in conjunction with the Protocol, it has been a wonderful tool.

Mucinex-D extra strength. I have chronicle sinus problems, not to severe but every cold can become a bad sinus/ear infection. My family Dr. recommended this drug and then the ENT Dr. confirmed the recommendation. It clears me and dries me but gets everything out and not trap inside. It's great to just have to take two a day. No side effects for me. I don't have a problem with the size of the pill, but I admit that is on the bigger side. I love Mucinex-D! Diagnosed with pneumonia, I started taking Mucinex for the expectorant. I noticed a change within the first 12 hours. I have had a headache but am also on a steroid that lists headache as a side-effect so it could be from that.

The pill is way to big for swallowing.I feel like the medicine is physically "making" me cough.It hurts way down deep when I cough.Causes my throat to hurt...I feel like I breath better without the medicine.

My colds tend to last 8 or more weeks, that is before I started using Guaifenesin. Now if I start taking it within a day or two of my first symptoms my cold only lasts about a week to week and a half.
