I am a 51 yr old female & before I was diagnosed I felt like I was 90. I shuffled, had inner & outer tremors, loss of balance, light incontinence, severe body aches & pains & was tired all the time. The meds were like a miracle. I felt like I got my life back. Almost all of the symptoms have gone away. I still feel tired a lot but mostly its because I feel better & push myself to do too much.

When I posted about 3 weeks ago I had been on 25/250 carbidopa/levodopa for 1 week and 25/100 for 1 month previous. I have now been on 25/250 (3x per day) for about 4 weeks and the difference this drug has made in my life is amazing. I have got my balance back 100%. Before I was bouncing off the walls from loss of balance. Before my right wrist was very sore and stiff and I could not even butter a piece of bread. Now I have no more pain, can move it and have no more problem buttering bread. I can walk normal again where before I always dragged my foot. I also have my appetite back where before I was never hungry and was losing weight. My moods have improved also (don't know if that is from the drug working on the brain, or because my body feels better, thus improving my moods. As I said the difference is amazing and all in 2 months only. Also I have not had any side effects at all. I have also been careful about my protein intake as protein can affect how the pills work. I am really happy with this medication so far Read More Read Less

I thought at first I was cured, the pain and spasms decease considerably, However the effect of the drug is wearing off and find myself taking more than prescribe. I'm wondering what are the side effects of taking to much.

Found out I had Parkinson's 2010. Did not take medication until Feb. 2014 when I started banging against the walls and had a fall. Bad balance problems and right wrist really sore and stiff. Started on 25/100 for a month and after 3 weeks pain in wrist gone and I can move it again. Some improvement in balance.Doc now has me on 25/250 for 1 week now. I am one of the lucky ones and have not had any side effects at all. Am glad I went on this medication so far.

When I first started on the meds, I became very depressed and almost suicidal! I cried all the time. I kept calling the dr, they said it was not from the Sinament. After research for myself, they lied! I felt like I was going crazy. It lasted for a couple of weeks. It did get better. I have been on it for about 1 1/2 years now. Recently, it is not working as good.

I have tremors similar to restless leg syndrome, but also in the arms and hands. The dose I take is suppose to last 6 hours but at most lasts 4. It's tough to get a good nights sleep. It also seems to take about an hour to have any effect. I haven't suffered any noticeable side effects and have been taking it twice a day for a month. One time to get to sleep 11PM and another dose around 3AM to finish sleeping. In the past I took Gabapentin with better results. I'd sleep the whole night through, but wake up a little loopy. However, the groggy feeling was gone by the time I went to work.Read More Read Less

I took this medication for approximately 5 or 6 years for restless leg syndrome and constant leg cramps. I beleive this helped me during the night but I do also have sleep apnea. The problem with this medication for me was that first I had a condition called AION (anterior ischemic optic neuropathy) first in my left eye and a few years later my right eye. What it has caused is for me to lose all of my peripheral vision and inner and lower vision in my "good" eye. i am basically blind in my left eye anyways because of a lazy eye condition I had at birth and was not treated correctly. I was fortunate to keep my center vision in my right eye, but I have definitely lost the lower and peripheral vision. I immediately quit taking carbidopa and can honestly say that I don't notice a difference at night.Read More Read Less

It has worked for me. My tremors have all but disappeared. Been on it for one and one-half years. Really helps my cognitive problems and rigidity. Enables me to continue working. Only drawback that I have gone from 3 pills a day to 6 pills a day in one and one-half years, plus azilect and now on low dose of Nuepro patch
