Have taken Vicodin for 7 years now. Have a badly damaged knee and constant pain. This works, but am now moving up to MS Contin. For those in pain don't worry about dependence you need it. I work 12 hour shifts at a Hospital and this is the only way I CAN work. It knocks the pain back where I can concentrate on what I'm doing and not be in agony or short tempered. Use it without fear for pain...

I am SHOCKED that there is no warning of possible addiction listed for this drug, and others like it. Hydrocodone is the most abused prescription drug in America today. Obviously this website has decided to ingore the truth about this drug, and print what the lawyers asked them to print.

This drug helps with pain from arthritis, three bad discs, three displaced vertebrae, AND a very severe case of hip bursitis which also turned into ITB syndrome. The ITB issue got so severe I had pain from the hip the entire length of my leg down into the shin. The first two issues are long standing, over half dozen years. The others have occurred in the past two years. This med does not relieve all the pain, but it reduces it to the point where I can do physical work and not be in agony. I have had NO side effects from it. No addiction issues. I am fortunate to currently have a doc who understands this and prescribes what I need. I was on a very low dose until last year when the bursitis and ITB were so bad. As they have been resolving, slowly, I have been able to cut back accordingly. With no issues there either.Read More Read Less

I've only been on this drug for a year now, but at it's strongest amount. I've had a real bad back injury and need help. I'M waiting on surgery still, and have gotten addicted to it. I do have all of the mentioned side effects though. Not a easy drug to try and get off with out help.

Vicodin is the best and most effective pain medication to relieve my severe Cervical Osteoarthritis pain and Sinus Infection Pain. Sinus infections are common and aggravate my cervical osteoarthritis producing severe pain. I cannot lay down to sleep, because of the intense pain. After taking a Vicodin tablet, the pain is gone is less than 30 minutes, and I can lie down and sleep. I use on the average 2 tablet per day "as needed", and no more than 4 in a day. I have developed no addiction to this medication. Extra Strength Tylenol only dulls the pain, and I need to take 2 tablets 3x/day. During severe pain, Tylenol is ineffective. I do not experience the uphuria associated with Vicodin, but I do experience pain relief quickly.Read More Read Less

When it does help with my pain it's usually for a short period of time, perhaps 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours.

I have been taking 3 10/325 a day for 6 years for stenosis in spine, was in a very bad motorcycle/auto accident that almost killed me and now not only does it curb the ache from the stenosis, but it masks the very painful leftovers from my wreck, BONUS!, i sometimes dont take one or two a day and find the aches more severe, am i addicted?, my body is, my mind isnt!, thankful for this drug but mindful of consequences and have full bloodwork and regular doctor visits

Beware. Use as directed. Very habbit forming. ALL TRUE. But very effective for pain. Also, seems like many doctors are ready to hand these out. Kinda suprising.

I have been on Vicodin for about 6 weeks straight. I am a recovering alcoholic for 20 years as of Dec. 3rd. I am now addicted to this med. I have chronic pain in my body. I have tried chiropratic care, many over the counter pain meds and now I am in physical therapy. My doc gave me 120 pill and said she will no longer give me anymore. She has referred me to a pain specialist. I am very anxious to see how they can help me. I want to get off this drub even though it helps me. My pain level would be a 9-10 if not on this med. My pain level now is about a 4-5 so I still have pain. I do ice/heat also. I'm anxious to get off this med as it makes me feel good emotionally and physically.Read More Read Less

I took this medication after my wisdom teeth were removed. It barely took the edge off my pain. But what it was effective at doing was making my body feel very heavy and and then put me to sleep. In essence, I wound up using it as more of a sleep aid so I didn't have to be awake to experience the pain. I have taken it after a banding procedure and it worked slightly better, but not much.
