This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

I agree with other people with the worst side effects of this drug. I wish I had read the reviews before. I took the tablets twice to clear my digestive system. I couldn't tolerate the stomach ache, cold sweats. I threw the tablets away .

This has been one of the most horrible experiences of my life! I was required to take 4 5mg. tablets as part of a bowel cleansing for a colonoscopy. I had the worst cramps ever. I get the chills, broke out in goose bumps, and felt like I was going to faint. I was very nauseated for hours. I had no idea that this was going to make me feel like this or I never would have taken it. Believe me, there will not be a second time! I'm sure this medicine has its place in use, but not here.

I had severe cramps sweating and intense pain after taking this product for constipation after having surgery. Finally after 4 days I am not in constant pain. Worst experience than the surgery itself. I just tossed the bottle in the trash. I will never take dulcolax ever again. I wished I would have read these reviews before taking this product.

I have taken this medication in the past and it was effective and fast acting, however, my experience with the most recent use has been horrible. Although it produced several bowel movements in a short period of time, at one point I experienced severe intestinal cramping, pouring cold sweats, and weakness. It has been three days since taking the Dulcolax and I am still having intestinal cramping, a feeling that I still need to evacuate, and gas that I cannot expel. This product should be removed from the market.Read More Read Less

I took the medication at 4:00 P.M. and around 7:00 P.M. was doubled over with cramps. I woke up at 10:00 P.M. to have a BM. then continued every 3 hours. I didn't like the cramping and the next day feeling dizzy, but it did the job.

I took 3 tablets 8 hours ago (at 7 pm - is now 3 am)- have still not had a bm but woke up to agonizing stomach pain, cold sweats and horrible nausea which i've only controlled by running cold water over my wrists. I'm in hell. Even if it cleans me out it is SO not worth it. This is miserable. This is the first time I've used a stimulant laxative - only took it b/c I haven't had a BM in 5 days.

This is the worst over-the counter medication I have ever taken. I was experiencing infrequent bowel movements to the point where I couldn't eat anything, so I decided to give it a try. I took (2) pills at 12am, and woke up at 4am sweating, dizzy, and with terrible stomach pains. after throwing up and having terrible diarrhea for an hour, I finally was able to go back to sleep. In the morning I work up at 7am to go to work, and I immedietely starting throwing up and have the same experience. I was afraid to leave the bathroom and I thought I may have to go to the hospital I was so dehydrated. I don't reccammend this product to anyone, and IU think it should come with more warning on the packaging. TERRIBLE.Read More Read Less

I searched this medication because after I took it I thought I was going to die. I am glad to know other people had the same side effects. The medicine did work but not without horrible pain and sweats!! I still feel nauseous after 24hrs.

Last night, I took 2 pills at around 7pm. By 9pm, I was doubled over with horrific cramps. By 10pm, my bowels were 100% liquid. By 10:30 pm, I was completely emptied out (and exhausted!). I feel fine today, but it was NOT worth the cramps! I won't take this again.

Dulcolax does relieve constipation but you have to go through complete torture to get relief. I took 2 pills around 9pm. I woke up around 1am with the worse stomachache I have ever felt in my life! I thought it was time to use the bathroom--Realized it was time to vomit. After vomiting, I laid in my hallway crying in pain from cramps & a hot sweat. I finally went to the bathroom all through the night while trying not to faint. I was up all night in pain, broke out in a hot sweat, and just plain miserable! A day later, I'm still dealing with diarrhea, nausea and a headache. I will NEVER look at another Dulcolax or a laxative period! I DO NOT recommend this product!Read More Read Less

I was a bit constipated and remembered that my doctor had recommended Dulcolax. I took two pills and went to bed. At about 3am I awoke to terrible cramping and night sweats. I went to the bathroom and nearly fainted. I was dizzy and lightheaded and my pulse was dangerously low. Its been about 24 hrs since I took it, and I still have a raging headache and dizziness. I am throwing out the rest of my Dulcolax!!

I use this medication very infrequently when I become constipated. Took 2 before bed and at about 2AM woke up running for the bathroom. After 20 min of cramps, sweats, and hell, I finally walked back to the bedroom and proceeded to pass out right in the middle of the floor. Needless to say, might find something else.

I took one Dulcolax pill at bedtime. Four hours later awoke to serious stomach cramps. I had also taken a tablet of aspirin (about 200 mg) for a headache. In the morning an extreme swelling and pain in my eyes (size of dinner rolls), concurrent with sore throat and continued stomach cramps. I've never had any problems with aspirin, but appear to have had an allergic reaction in combination with Dulcolax. I rushed to the hospital, where I was treated with steriods/antihistamine. 24 hours later my eyes are still seriously swollen, my vision blurred, and throat sore. I'd advise caution with Dulcolax!Read More Read Less

I had a hyetal ulcer. Originally the first doctor gave me cimendine and librax. My second doctor said librax causes constipation. I don't know the dosage. It is a small yellow pill. Usually 2 do the trick. Always there is some cramping, but to me that is a sign I will soon go to the bathroom. Only once it didn't work, but I think that's because I took Miracid, an anti acid, a few hours earlier. Basically, I believe side effects are rare. I live in Thailand and it's fairly common to take for constipation here. As far as bad habits, I drink Pepsi and usually eat a pizza once a week. I do yoga and try to walk when I can. I am 60. Probably I am dependent on this, though the dependency runs in streaks. Definetly I have more problems if I eat steak.Read More Read Less

I had to take Dulcolax for a bowel prep before surgery. Took it at 8pm as instructed. At 2am woke up with horrible abdominal cramping. SAt on the toilet for long time doubled over. It felt like my rectum was turning inside out. This is the second time I'm had to take this for a bowel prep and the last. I will push for something else next time, this drug is too brutal.
