I use this drug for RLS. It has been very effective but also can make me very drowsy. I take it before bed because of that. Sometimes I feel like I have just been 'drugged' and can hardly function to get myself to bed, sometimes it doesn't make me sleepy at all! Strange. The other thing I have noticed is that if I wake up in the middle of the night I can't always get back to sleep. I haven't reall...

I have been on this pill for 1 week. I keep waking up it does not help my RLS. What I have found is that this medicine makes me paranoid that someone is breaking into my house or that I am going to die in my sleep. The first day I tried this drug it made me feel like I was floating out of my body. I will no longer take this drug anymore and I feel it would be in the best interest for the makers of...

Ropinarole does not control my involuntary leg and arm movements even in conjunction with mirapex and tizanidine. I did better withoout it.

This is the only medication that I have ever taken to deal with the terrible leg jerking (RLS) that, for me, occurred in the evening/night. If I do not take it before symptoms occur (along with analgesics), it takes a while for the restlessness to go away. As I split my dosage, if I take the second half too soon (sometimes I'll do anything to make the discomfort go away), it can have psychological effects similar to Ambien (disorientation, confusion, balance problems, etc.). However, overall, I'll take the side effects over the RLS any day.Read More Read Less

I have had RLS for 10 years, it feels like an electrical discharge that makes my legs jump at night. Also calf pain when sitting and lying down, worse than torture, you'll do anything to get relief. Took some time to find the right dosage for me to end the problem, now all is good, however staying asleep at night is the only drawback. Taking 1mg plus 2 mg at night, and 1 mg in the morning works for me. Everyone is different, as I read some of the reviews, I can't help think that they have something else going on as well that they haven't found yet.Read More Read Less

Been taking 16mgs every morning for almost a year. Been happy with it (no falling asleep episodes nor hallucinations etc) but lately have developed hand tremors in only my rt. hand and tension in same arm. (Don't know if its due to drug or disease yet). Originally started with carvidopa-levidopa but my stomach didn't handle it.

Started taking a month ago for muscle cramps in my calves. Not RLS but due to taking Lasix for fluid buildup. Has helped my cramps in my legs but have had a constant headache ever since I started taking this drug. Not worth the headache.

I am currently taking 2 mg of ropinirole nightly for Restless Legs Syndrome. My RLS is severe and I have not been able to sleep in a bed for 25 years. I must sleep on the floor because the hardness of the floor against the muscles in my legs gives me some relief. The benefit of the ropinirole is hit or miss. I take it about 1.5 hours before bed. On a good night I get to sleep in about 30 minutes, but the ropinirole wears off from 3 to 5 hours later and my legs hurt and I toss and turn until the alarm goes off. On a bad night, it gives me a fitfull sleep for about 2 hours and then my legs ACHE until morning. The ropinirole has caused my legs to swell and I have had to increase my blood pressure medication. It has given me some interesting dreams. Basically it is better than not taking anything. I have to keep increasing the dosage and I am afraid that I will shortly reach the 4 mg maximum. It is not a wonder drug for me. Read More Read Less

i have had RLS for 22 years and started taking ropinorole in 2004. I can't go one night with out taking it it has been the only thing that keeps it at bay.....if i run out and can't get my pills there have only been 2 other things that help are sex its only a 40/60% it will keep it away sometimes it only helps for a little bit. the second and i don't recommend it is meth it is 100% effective at keeping it at bay but illegal and not good for you... Love the ropinirole works 100% for me

I was prescribed this medicine for restless leg syndrome. By the second or third night I could tell a difference. By the fourth day I had complete numbness in lips ,hands, knees, and both feet. I could not function properly! Since I stopped taking it, only took it 5 days, still have numbness in hands and feet. This is very uncomfortable and I think more should be put into the warning label.

Started this medication more than one year ago with one 0.5mg dose to help sleep at night. Since then I have had the dosage increased to 1.0 mg and now 3 times daily to help with increasingly active RLS. I have been told that 4 times daily is the maximum intake.

I have had RLS for over 15 years, I have taken Mirapex for many years and it worked but eventually wore off. Switched to levocardoba, eventually work off. Switched to combination of levocardopa and ropinrole. Now I am on 05 Roinrole at noon, 1 mg at supper and .5 mg clonazepam at bedtime and it keeps it at bay 80% of the time

Started at 1 mg twice daily for RLS and now am up to 1 mg 4 times daily. Symptoms are worse and moves into my hips and sometimes arms and show up any time of day now rather than just at night. I have learned this is called "augmentation" and now I will have to detox off this medicine and try something else. I wish more doctors knew about this disease!

My doctor gave me this medication for RLS. It was like a gift from God ; at first. It worked great for about 1 1/2 weeks. Then it worked less and less, so the doctor raised the dose twice more. The cramps and spasms gradually came back each time. It got to the point where the longer I took it; it was working less and less to where it wasn't working much at all anymore. I was in total agony. Aside from all that I developed severe constipation for which nothing helped. After taking it for about 3 to 4 months, I talked to my doctor and we decided to stop taking it. So I thought since I stopped taking Ropinirole that the constipation would go away since ropinirole caused it. That didn't happen. Instead, after nearly a year and a half since stopping the ropinirole I still cope with the severe constipation 24/7 and need to use fiber twice a day and sometimes 3. I did find help for the RLS though. I now take 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily along with 2400 MG Fish Oil with 1080 MG Omega 3 daily. No more RLS.Read More Read Less

Started taking 1 mg at night for RLS. I had been walking the floor at night. It began working immediately. It typical kicks in after 1 1/2 hours. I sleep well again. I do have some tightness and stiffness in my legs. I will keep taking and go to the gym

Seems to help with my restless legs syndrome. I still get nights when they're awful and I cannot for the life of me keep them still, but I used to get them every single night and day, but since taking this tablet, I only get them some nights, or sometimes in the day if I sit still for too long, such as in the cinema or long journeys. When they play up, they're still intense, but I don't get them so often since taking this tablet. I was put on 1 0.25mg tablet per night which didn't work, so now I take 2 0.25mg tablets per night and have done so now for about 2 years or so. I had no side effects when taking this tablet, and never have done. I'd recommend it for restless legs syndrome. Read More Read Less
