I have been on Vicoprofen for a few years now for Migraines, Kidney Stones. I feel it works alot better then Extra Strength Vicodin. I take the 7.5 200 strength. It doesnt upset my stomach like the tylenol did with the Vicodin. If you do get a upset stomach I recommend eat before you take the med. But sometimes doing so lessens the effect of the Vicoprofen. so taking a anti-nausea med will prevent...

I take this medication cause of my back and shoulder pain. Got into a car accident about 5 years ago and still take it now. I take it at bedtime cause it takes the edge off during the day and I can actually get some sleep at night. I haven't become addicted to it yet. Just make sure you don't drink a lot of coffee when your taking it. It makes me very hyper.

I have been prescribed this drug for several reasons, including kidney stones. I found cutting the pill in half reduced the side effects greatly! My biggest problem was the addiction that became of repeated use due to a torn rotator cuff. if you use this medication, beware of addiction! I had to detox, and I recovered nicely. Just beware of "needing" the medication, especially more than normal.

I was a wisdom tooth case. The bottle said to take 1 to 2 pills every 6 hours, so I took 2 every 6 hours of more. My gums were still sore and the mood swings were ferocious, especially after 3 days of liquids and sleep deprivation. CRIERS' BEWARE!! I don't recommend this drug.

I have always had severe headaches. I was put on Gabapentin for about four years, and then they gave me naproxyn, which didn't help much, and now I am taking hydrocodone with tylonol. I don't have any complaints about it.

For intense shoulder pain this is it, especially if Naproxen 500mg doesn't work. I do notice a slight "depressed-needy" feeling if I have to take over several days and then go without it for a few days. Could result in crying...just be conscious of that and you are good.

I was prescribed this medication after I had my wisdom teeth removed. It was such a routine procedure that I don't think I even needed the pain meds but took them because the Dr. said so. I was on the Hydrocodone and 800mg of Ibuprofen. I experienced many of the side effects: dizziness, ringing in the ears, fever, constipation, stiff neck, fast heartbeat, and mood swings. I also read about the possible allergic reactions that may occur. I had all of the allergic symptoms accept for the pain/swelling. I have never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life; food, drugs, animals, plants, bug bites, etc. The withdrawal symptoms are terrible too. I've been waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat which is a withdrawal symptom of narcotics. I'm sure this drug has its uses for extreme pain. But I don't believe it should be prescribed for wisdom tooth extraction. The Ibuprofen would probably be enough.Read More Read Less

I took this medication when I had my wisdom teeth out. When I tried to take it I was instantly bothered by the side effects. When I was due for my next dose later that day, I tried taking half of a pill. It still bothered me. I felt very disoriented. I was dizzy and did not feel like I was even in control of my body. It was a very uncomfortable feeling! I ended up just taking ibuprofen (200 mg.). It was a lot better than dealing with the pain medication!

I have a pinched nerve and a herniated disc. It really only scratches the surface of the pain.Just enough to barely do every day things but not enough relief to get any sleep.

This medication resulted in my going to the hospital by ambulance. The most wicked reaction...numbness, chest pain, dizziness, nausea, etc. I thought I was having a stroke/heart attack. It should be abandoned!

Makes me wicked nauseous! Feel like I could vomit. Does this contain codeine? Yuck. Sure, the pain lessens, but I can't function for feeling like I will Ralph all the time!

Caused sleepiness and dizziness but did NOTHING for the pain. For two days I laid on the couch in pain, crying sometimes. Pain level varied between 5 and 6.5 (on a ten point scale with 10 being unbearable screaming pain and shock/passing out) those two days. Excatly the same pain relief recieved by taking generic over the counter extra strength Excedrine. My pain was dental surgery. I had brand name vicodin after abdominal surgery in '04 with excellent results and less side effects. This is the first generic I have ever been dissatisfied with. Friend had exact same problem with this generic at the same time following his bypass surgery.Read More Read Less

This med prescribed for my pain, worked really well except now the Ibuprofen in the med is eating up my stomach, so now my dr. is changing me back to the pain med with the tylenol in it. Been on it 3 years and the dr. still has yet to find the cause of the pain. He thought it was an adhesion, surgery proved it not to be the cause. Only had one adhesion and it was taken out 2 months ago going on 3 months. Yet they left me on the pain meds for 2 years after running tests in 2005 to be sure that nothing else was the cause, why the surgery couldn't have been done then I don't know. But to keep me on an addicting pain med rather than operate didn't make sense. Now I still have the pain & the addiction, but the pain pill does get rid of the pain or otherwise I wouldn't be able to get around and do everyday normal things. There is no way I could quit taking the pain pill now without going insane with pain. Will write a further update later on....Read More Read Less
