I experienced a foul taste here and there, nothing too bad, took 500mg twice per day Had unpleasant diarrhea though Other than that, a bit weaker overall and I had some lightheadedness and dizziness here and there Was Not as horrible or bad as reviews make it sound for me!! F 22

Infection in nose after surgery. On pills 2x a day. Metal side effects are true. Mouth is dry, gums and teeth hurt, terrible film like in mouth, food does not taste anywhere near the same. Gave average reviews as I have two days left. Can't answer 100 percent except for side effects

First I wanna say that I have Elhers Danlos Syndrome. With that comes mast cell activation Syndrome which in short causes intense allergic and/or intensified side effects. So every time I start a new med there's always a chance of it going wrong...and this is one of those times...I'm on 500mg 2x a day for 10 days and from day 1 had nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea, stomach cramps, horrible bitter taste in my mouth constantly which made my nausea worse, hoeeible gas, night terrors, and hallucinations... however I was so sick with the pneumonia I was determined to get thru it so I combatted the symptoms with probiotics and Zofran and ginger tea and mints/candies for the bad taste and immodium for the diarrhea...so it became better by day 3..now on day 6 I'm sitting here at 3 am writing this bc out of nowhere it has triggered THE WORST CASE of restless leg syndrome I've ever had and iv dealt woth RLS for over the past 10 yrs. This is even worse than the restlessness from coming off of opiates. I am hysterical right now bc I'm so tired but my body feels like I'm being electruted, and the restless sensation in my legs is so intense that it's in my stomach too and making me literally bear down like I'm tryna poop. Only my first dose was awful with stomach pain, headache, bowel movement and tingling sensation throughout body. Paracetamol and rest helped. I was scared to take second dose but my body must have got used to it. I was fine after initial dose.

I’m taking 500mg twice a day 12 hours apart and can’t wait to finish them! Tired of the nasty bitter/metallic taste in my mouth, stomach pain, gas and feeling tired. I have 3 days left, going to try and power through the last 3 days, but if I need antibiotics in the future, I don’t want these!

Thank god I found these reviews! I have had the most horrific nightmares the last two nights since taking this course of antibiotics. Tonight I had a night terror, woke up shaking, I’ve never had an experience like this. I feel anxious, paranoid, shaky. I’m calling my doctor in the morning to suggest something else, I can’t do another night like this on these antibiotics. It will cause insomnia and drowsiness, then when you can sleep it can cause nightmares. I feel slightly nauseous as well, I’m not taking this ever again. I have quinsy and the swelling on my left gland is so severe that I'm on 1000mg a day. Although after just 1 day, the pain and swelling has slightly gone down, the side effects from this antibiotic was almost instant for me. A constant headache, an aching body particularly a bad back, diahorrea, nausea but not actually being sick, fever, night sweats and I'm genuinely not a sweaty person, low mood, stomach ache and genuinely feeling like death. Taking 500mg for sinus and chest infection day 2 and I have hyper sensitivity with my hearing. Loud noises make me dizzy and just walking talking and breathing sound ridiculously loud. I also feel very low and anxious. Calling Dr today for a review.

Good Grace ...I will never take this shit again.My dose was 500 mg per day and I thought it would be easy,especially since I never had any reactions at other antibiotics.But seems with this one I had: insomnia,sweating,itchy all over my body and stomach cramps.Thanks God that I didnt had diarhea or other horrific reactions u guys are writing here.

This medication made me feel like I was dying/going crazy. I had horrible stomach cramps, I was pissing out my asshole, and it destroyed my mental state - I just could not stop crying for the 5 days I took it. I am absolutely exhausted with insane muscle weakness (sitting up is a struggle). The worst part about it is because of the diarrhea - the antibiotic didn’t even absorb, so I am still sat here with a chest infection due to the antibiotics OWN SIDE EFFECTS!!!!! I have been on this medicine for 4 days. It is making me severely nauseous, dizzy, light of breathe, moody and anxious. This is not a good experience for me at all.

7 weeks with a bad cough and chest pain since catching covid it caused a bacterial chest infection and have asthma which made things worse. Doctor put me on these antibiotics worried going on them as I am allergic to alot of medicines but they have helped alot only one side effect was horrible taste in mouth on a night mostly . would use again

I was taking it for h pylori. This has made me think am very depressed. I had a vivid dream the whole night. Feeling like I can harm anybody near me. I had to start mindfulness for me to sleep. I came to see this website and the reviews in it. I was soo happy that it was caused by the medicine. I am never going to take this tablet again. Hoping to feel better soon.

When reading reviews it’s probably good to remember that everyone is different. People saying ‘avoid’ and ‘will never take again’. Don’t avoid as you don’t know, it may be effective for you. Weirdly I like the smell/taste of this antibiotic. I’m taking it for Campylobacter, it was a bout of food poisoning which should have cleared in 3-5 days but i still had it 12 days later. Everything was going great till day 6! Major exhaustion set in a few days which wasn't to much of a bother but then the night terrors hit. Night terrors so bad I woke up crying ?? 2 nights of night terrors is all I can take. They seemed to real and ruined both days for me! This morning when the alarm went off I thought it was the fire alarm and thought there was a fire ?? this did it for me I can't handle another pill. I have no side effects with this antibiotic, unlike amoxicillin , which has recently started to make me feel sick . I don’t care if I get any other side effects , but nausea is the pits . I’m am cured of my lung infection and skin problems to boot

WOW!! I read all the reviews so I could understand what I might expect when taking this medicine, but I had a great experience with this. I was so scared after reading reviews but extremely glad I took this antibiotic. I took it with amoxicillin and pantoprazole for 2 weeks and had almost no side effects. I had some nausea but I don't know if that was from the gastritis so I can say for sure. I had the AWFUL taste in my mouth but sucked on mints throughout the day to help it, but the worst was definitely waking up. I found it difficult to sleep as every time I woke up I experienced the horrible taste and had to run to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I suffered from sinus infections for months. It started with prolonged bouts of seasonal rhinitis. I had been feeling fatigued, depressed, lethargic and frustrated, painful sinuses, constant discharge from nose, etc. My allergist prescribed a course of an antibiotic (name of which I can’t remember) that seemed to clear up symptoms for awhile but after a couple of months I was back to where I started so I I was prescribed a twice a day ten day course of clarithromyicin. The second day I had a nasty, bitter, tinny taste in my mouth that has persisted for the five days I have been taking the medication and I’ve felt discomfort in my upper abdomen BUT my sinuses cleared completely after the fourth day for the first time in ages.
