I tried Prempro at my dr's suggestion, switching from cyclical premarin/progesterin. Within days I felt terrible. Hot flashes and night sweats returned, I was nervous and irritable, retained water, blood pressure went up, constant spotting, felt premenstral all the time. about 5 yrs ago switched from cyclical estrogin with progesterin last two weeks of cycle. It was working for me but Dr. suggested prempro to stop having periods. Within a few days I was feeling terrible, spotting, swollen breast, hot flashes, increase in blod pressure. I was like extreme PMS without having a period to relieve it. I have been on this for 1 1/2 years and truly helped with hot flashes but am ready to stop. Turning 55 and want to stop since other parts are falling apart and now need to take pills for stomach etc- don't want to be a walking pharmacy. Lowered my libido too - would rather have a hot flash than no flash at all.
