At the onset of a headache is the best time to use this medicine. It may take 1/2 to 1 hour for effectiveness. The worst side effect I have is body aches, especially in the lower extremities. Tenderness of skin on the thighs, and pain in the bottoms of my feet are typical complaints. Although my migraine have lessened with treatment to prevent headaches with amitriptyline and propranolol used o...
This product alone did not help my migrane headaches. I finally found relief with this AND 3 ibuprofen tablets. I'm not sure if it was the combination or the ibuprofen alone that worked.

I took this medicine when I felt the migraine coming on. After taking the Zomig I felt like a truck had ran over my body. I could not move or function. Felt extremely hung over and had to lay down. I tried this a few times and decided with the side effects I does NOT work for me. I also felt somewhat depressed and suicidal. Unlike me... glad it works for those it does.

I have been taking Zomig for 16 years for migraines. It takes about 90 mins for the pain to go away. Very rarely do I need a second dose. Instead of being debilitated for 24 hours, I know I can go on with my dayas normal in 45-90 mins. Since I was having migraines at least once a week, Zomig has saved my sanity and my life. It is however very expensive. Side effect is a very strong tingling in mouth and lower jaw like eating a lemon, the first couple of bites of food I ingest after drug takes effect, also increased sensitivity to hot and cold when eating initially. Mild overall head/neck/arms/shoulders tenderness for about 6-12 hours.Read More Read Less

Zomig is a miracle drug for migraine, I have had debilitating migrains for over 45 yrs, now I don't fear my next attack. I can continue with my activities in about 2 hrs. Instead of vomiting and laying in bed for 2 days !!!!

Zomig works for my migraines 9 out of 10 times. I get achy joints, and skin sensitivity to heat (can't wash dishes by hand, which is actually a plus). It works best when you take it early on. If I lay down, it can be hard to get up - even when the migraine is gone! If I am up, I do not find it makes me drowsy. It does not work on a couple specific food related migraines (aged cheese & turkey deli meat).

I also need to take an aspirin with this drug to insure the pain goes away. It also removes the stiffness i get in my neck along with the migraine. I can only get 6 pills a month and it is so expensive. Looking for the day a generic of this one is made. Imitrex generic only partially works and can give me heartburn which can also be sooo uncomfortable.

This drug is dangerous for the type of migraines i have (complex migraines with aura) It is totally ineffective for the aura which is my worst part of migraines. My most recent physician told me i should never been prescribed this medication especially because i also have high blood pressure and a serious family history of heart attacks and strokes.

I have tried dozens of different medicines... imitrex, imitrex injectable, treximet, etc. Zomig is the only drug that gives me complete relief once I get a migraine. (The trick is to take it early in the headache, though). All other drugs would only dull the pain, or leave me completely nauseated. Now if I can only pin down a good treatment for preventing migraines in the first place....

This is a wonder drug! I tried all sorts of things before I found it and nothing helped the intense pain and all the other symptoms that go along with it. I tried Imitrex a few times and it worked ok but not as fast and not as well. I do wish Zomig worked faster than an hour and that it didn't cost so much. I have no insurance for it. Anyone know when it is going generic???

I use %mg doses. I have had 100% relief from this drug. I have tried several other drugs with no relief including Imitrex. Zomig is sometimes not covered but you must get a prior auth from your md and well worth it.

This is the only drug that has worked for my migraine headaches. Immutrex did nothing, so my physician put me on Zomig several years ago. I take 1/2 does of the 5mg tablet. The 2.5 mg table doesn't work, and I am not sure why. The only side effect is sometimes, chest pain, if I have taken too much. I know it's a side effect, so I don't worry about it. It's well worth getting rid of the debilitating migraine.

This "Magic Pill",I like to call it, is very effective after 1 hour. I do get some sense of numbness and dry mouth but this is a very small price to pay to get rid of a very unpleasant migraine.

My doctor switched me to Zomig after Midrin became unavailable. It made the pain go away, but I acted like a drunk person for hours afterward. I was dizzy, had slurred speech and trouble thinking. Midrin never did this to me. Has anyone else felt tipsy taking Zomig?

I use this medication when I feel a migraine coming on. It does a great job of taking care of it within 30 min to 1 hour. If I wake up with a headache or have a major migraine I have to resort to the imitrex shot for complete relief.

Zomig was like a miracle drug for me. I have had it on hand for years, and find it totally reliable. Unfortunately, my prescription plan has dropped Zomig, and I am now using the generic imitrex. The imitrex seems to be effective so far but without the almost euphoric relief I felt with the zomig. My only complaint with both drugs is that relief takes at least an hour to occur.

This med works really well, fast relief, I think the ODT form works the best, especially when nausea is present. No need to swallow just pop it under your tongue and get back to your day.

Been taking as needed for over 10 years. Does the trick everytime. Really is a life saver. Found that sometimes I get tingling sensation down my arms, but usually if I cut my dosage in half I don't get that sensation.
