As a RA patient, my doctor and I looked at many scrips for this disease, didn't like the chance of all the side effects of some, this seemed easy to use with the least amount of side effects. After taking the meds for 3 years, my doctor pronounced me : In Remission : and told me to come back in 6 months. All I heard was the words, In Remission, and then quit taking the meds that day. I went alo...

Just started today. Hope it works! I read some of the previous comments. Scarey!!!! Hope I don't experience their side effects, especially the hair loss.

I was prescribed this medication for Shogrens about three years ago. I have been having my eyes checked regularly. I found out last week that the hydroxychloroquine is causing a negative effect on my vision. My doctor said to discontinue it immediately.

Today is my 3rd day of taking this... I am praying this works for me. I can't take this pain and stiffness. I am willing to deal with the side effects if it helps me. It is hard for me to rate this medication at this time.

I used this drug for 10 years and still have swelling, stiffness and joint pain. So, the doctor advised me to stop this medicine.while I was on this, my skin pigment changed to darker tone,my tongue got darker periodically. Even though I took lots of supplements. But I continue with pain medicine along with methotrexate and 2.5ml of prednisone.I really cannot tell any difference in my joint pain and swelling with the absence of this drug.

I was diagnosed with Lupas. My biggest complaint was sore joints and hives with itching. They put me on hydroxychloroquine 200mg that worked well for me but the side effects from the drug caused painfull linchen planus under my tongue. After putting up with the pain for several year as the Dr's said that I would just have to live with this the lichen planus turned into cancer. I have had surgery to remove 1/3 of my tongue and lymth nodes in my neck and and ready to start radiation and chemo. Please be carefull and watch for any sores in your mouth this could happen to you.Read More Read Less

The drug does alleviate some symptoms of lyme disease. Yesterday I woke up and my arms would nearly move.

I have been on the medication now for 6 months. I didn't know I had lupus until July 2013 and after my checkup with the Dr. again in Oct 2013 I had small side effects, like once a month a cold sore in the mouth, fatigue sometime however I keep going, this month I experienced stiff joints in my knees, but other than that it seems to work for me. Less pain than before.

Im 19 and recently diagnosed with RA. After 2 about two months of taking this med I am starting to feel improvement in my fingers and wrists; I am an art student and before this had a lot of difficulty doing what I wanted day to day. Though its doing wonders on my joints it has caused severe anxiety attacks and an almost constant elevated heart rate. Im talking with my dr and going down on the dose, hopefully that will help!

Sjogren's syn. treatment: I don't think it has had any effect on my condition. I still have a lot of fatigue and it tends to upset my stomach. Did nothing for my dryness either.

Been on this medication for 5 months now. I am always so tired and sleepy. I was not that way before. It does however help the inflammation in my joints. Also I have to have my eyes checked every 6 months to make sure this drug is not effecting my vision. Is it worth all this I don't know. My pharmacist suggested instead of 2 tablets a day take 1 and half. I am going to try this and see what happens.

I've been on this drug for over 10yrs and it seems to be very effective in controlling my lupus. I have my eyes checked every 6mo and they are fine but the eye doc did mention at last exam that there is cumulative effect and after this much time it's wise to notify him immed. for sx such as double vision, intense floaties, etc as there could be damage to the retina.
