I suffered for 6 months while six medical doctors tried to diagnose my itching and red spots. Just because other folks in your household do not not have symptoms like you does not discount SCABIES as the culprit. All of my doctors assumed just that. Suddenly one day my wife started having similar symptoms so my primary care provider decided it was time to administer the cream. The cream was ap...

I was diagnoized with Scabies 5 days ago. I had the itching about 2 weeks before going to the Dr. My granddaughter was itching too, so she went to the Dr. and was diagnoized with Scabies. Her Dr. told her that she had caught it from a puppy that she had gotten that had the mange. I also took care of the puppy. Some say that the mite that infects animals can't be transferred to humans. But, her Dr...

I, like most people... did not realize why i was itching. Finally 4 months later found out scabies. Used this medication 3 weeks ago and the itching got better over 2 weeks. Used remaining cream a week ago and the itching is almost entirely gone. Glad the Doctor (and WebMD) warned that the itching would continue up to 4-6 weeks after using it however!!

I have applied the cream three times as directed. The second treatment I went as far as quaranting the family from the house for 48 hrs! Two months after ineffective treatments we're now trying an oral medication we're to be on for an additional month.

It has been nearly 2 weeks since my son and I were diagnosed. The rest of the family have had no symptoms but have been treated. The two of us have applied the cream twice and tonight will make the third. We both still itch and may have to go back to the doctor. I read the other reviews and one of the reviews said that it is the same thing that is in dog shampoo...She was right it is.

My 2 year old brought home this little bug from somewhere and shared it with everyone. I didn't know for about 2 months what it was, maybe if we had caught it earlier the Permethrin would have worked better. We have treated 3 times and tonight will be the 4th!! We seem fine for a couple days, then here they come, back again full force! We treat the whole house by washing with hot water and even steam clean...and they are still here! My girlfriend said her doctor gave her a pill to take, if this doesn't work im going that route.Read More Read Less

My 2 yr old foster child came to me with this condition and also lice. The medication seemed to work good so far. It has been 3 days. It did seem to burn in some spots. She also had clotrimazole betamethasone for the itch. She was reated at the ER for this.

Diagnosed yesterday after itching for about a week.....at first, I thought it was something else, another skin condition I'm also being treated for that I thought had spread, or bug bites from being outside. My primary doctor was so amazed that she called in a med student to see as well how bad it was, beacuse you read about it in textbooks in school but rarely do you see someone struggling with it. It is summer and unbearably hot anyway right now, and I too have gotten the excessive sweating like I usually do (I inherited the "lots of sweating" gene from my dad). I would have preferred to catch this and be treating it in the winter or someday when the wind is blowing nice into the window. I'm afraid to use a fan to cool off, maybe it'll somehow disrupt the cream from working, and I'm careful to use a Kleenex to superficially blot the sweating. As a pharmacy student, I know this is very effective after one application, but I also know that scabies can sometimes be hard to treat. I have no idea how I caught it.....apparently, poor hygiene, catching from someone else infected are the top causes, but I haven't had any of these (I rarely have contact with other people, and I shower a whole lot more now that it's summer). I don't know, I'm trying to be patient, but sweating so much and itching and burning in certain clusters of bites, I don't know that I can deal with this for the next 8-14 hours. Hard for me to put in hair and back. Did the best I could. When have other people washed their clothes and linens? Before or after the first time with the med? Because it's so hot outside, I'm waiting to do laundry tomorrow.....is it ok to keep all these clothes in the hamper in a corner of my bedroom? And, anyone have any suggestions on how to wash these in commercial washers at a laundromat? And, what suggestions do you have for washing and drying a sleeping bag at a laundromat too? I don't have the money to dry-clean anything, unfortunately. Thanks so much!Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed yesterday, and I don't know if it is mild case or not, but feels like is getting worse. I keep using tea tree shampoo to wash with and hydrocortisone creme along w/ medication. I hope this doesn't really take a month to subside, but I am glad I got the medication and diagnosed before it got worse.

Got scabies from working in a residential facility. I saw small red dots on my arm the medication made me very weak and shaky. My joints hurt. It appears to have worked no sores no severe itching. Two treatments one week apart, head to toe did not put it on my face.

I am a nurse who developed four spots of red itchy dots on my left inner forearm. I found out that my other co-workers complained of the same rash and theirs were worse than mine. I got treated w/ permethrine right after I discovered that it is scabies. However, 3-4 days after treatment my rash got worse-they spread everywhere. almost everyday I re-apply the cream after my 12 hr. application. I also took Ivermectin a total of 2 doses. I am hoping to see good result in 3-4weeks; I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping this would work. In the meantime, I take benadryl, and apply steroid cream over the itchy rash. so far, the steroid cream helps me stop the madness of itching. Read More Read Less

Must have caught it from one of the children at school(wish i knew which one).Got very paranoid to keep an extra watch on all the children for any suspected itching or scratching..No one appeared to have any symptoms.Don't know where i caught it from. But this medicine burned like the "dickens" took a total of 2 days to get rid off..worked well for me...and i have been itch free for 3 weeks now...

I work in a long term care nursing facility where I picked up the scabies from a patient. Fortunatly the patients daughter gave me a heads up that her mother was being treated for scabies and told me to be careful. Otherwise, I would have had no idea why I was itching so badly later on especially all over the back of both hands. Because I instruct physical therapy I had been helping her mother walk and transfering her in and out of her chair. I did wait to see if the symptoms got worse and 2 days later the itching was horrible. So thank god for the internet and web md etc,,,, I had a bottle of nix hair shampoo though kind of old. Still did the trick. Will re treat in a few days with continued monitoring, changing sheets,,,,etc,,,,Read More Read Less

Our family Doctor proscribed thinking the rash my daughter had was scabies but no other family member had symtoms well turns out my daughter was allergic to milk products again, well this meds gave her a red rash all over that lasted for 10 days what a mess, to cause little one so much itching and pain for nothing so I recommend making sure your youngester has scabbies before using.

This stuff is terrible, unless you catch the scabies early I guess. Like most, I had them for months before being diagnosed. Burned the genitals TERRRIBLY, almost unbearable. They really seemed to clear up for a couple days, and now two weeks later they're even worse than ever.

Seems like it does nothing at first, at night the itching is unbearable, used it three days ago and still no noticable signs of going away, if anything I feel like it has spread more. must be patient.

The only problem I had was a subjective hotness, as if my sweat glands were clogged and were not working properly. However, as I did not overheat at all, it must have been a mere sensation. The drug cleared up my scabies infection very quickly.
