This has worked like a miracle on my migraines. I seldom need more than one tablet to shut them down for the day.

Side effects are unpleasant. You will get drowsy and it will end up taking up your whole day.

I started taking it for migraines, and it works great!! However, the last couple of times that I've taken it, I broke out in hives. The first time I broke out, I thought I had been bitten by mosquitos. (Ya, stupid). But I recently took it again for a migraine, and I am now covered in hives!! Anyone else?

It works great if taken when headache is starting. Waiting too long though, it lessens it but doesn't stop it. Been taking it for several years.

I have been taking this for 10+ years and it works great most of the time, Sometimes I have to take second pill but that is only when I have a extra bad headache.

I have had severe migraines for close to a decade. This was one of the several medications that I have tried to aid to relieve the pain, sadly it has not helped much more than aiding me sleep.

This medication has barely touched my pain. I only find it effective when topped off with Ibuprofen.

I take preventative daily, but have to take this combined with Ibuprofen 800mg as soon as I have the slightest sign that a break-through migraine is coming on. It works for me with no drugging effects, and my liver is fine (tested yearly - due to other medications.) This medication is not a preventative!!! It is simply a maintenance medication to treat at onset. If you feel the excruciating pain, blinding lights, blaring whispers, and obnoxious odors (that normally smell nice), you may as well see medical attention for the headache at that point, because it's too late for this medication to work. Take it as soon as you feel the slightest dull ache or the faintest queasiness. You will have a better chance of avoiding the migraine, but DO NOT OVER DO IT!!! The butalbital is a sedative and can be very dangerous in large doses. If worried, talk to your Doctor about an alternative to try 1st, leaving it safe to take this 30 to 60 minutes later if it's not a simple headache and does require the RX version. Never share this one with friends, they could have a reaction.Read More Read Less

I take blood thinners for afib and chf. I take this drug along with a blood thinner to relieve headaches which might of might not be attributable to bleeding in the brain.

This medicine HELPS with my migraines, but has yet to actually kill one off. I have to take 2 pills at a time to make a dent in my migraines. I have suffered from migraines since middle school (10-12 yrs old) and they just seem to get worse as the years go by. I've tried a few different medications but nothing has managed to get them under control. Had a daith piercing which has helped with the frequency of the headaches & migraines, but they are still pretty bad. This medication if taken on an empty stomach will make you feel a bit "stoned" so make sure to eat before taking the medication. Read More Read Less

I've been having tension headaches for about 15 years. I think these pills have worked great on my headaches but it seems like they are starting to be not as affective in relieving my pain.

I'm 24 and I been suffering from migraines since the age of 15 and I've used a medication called Topamax and it had serious side affects on me so I switched over to Fioricet and it works great and with-in 20 minutes my migraine is gone.

I have severe migraines, and Imitrex and similar drugs would have caused interaction issues with other medicine I was on, at the time. I have used Fioricet/Fiorinal and the generic versions for years, and they almost always do the job within 15-20 minutes. On rare occasions, a migraine is severe enough for two, and at that point, I just lay down with all lights out, because I feel the narcotics, and I don't have any business driving or doing anything else. As my health has improved, the frequency of migraines has dropped sharply. This is still very effective for the majority of my migraines.Read More Read Less
