I took this bc of coughing and runny nose. I was ok till the early morning when I woke up in absolute terror. I felt like I couldn't breathe and was going to die! I am never ever, ever going to take this medicine again! I feel like I have a hangover and cannot wake up all day today! TERRIBLE!!!!!

While nyquil is easy to pour and swallow, the side effects absolutely tear me apart. I often do not sleep well as well as very intense abdominal pain from the medicine. The abdominal pain can cause nausea and be worse than menstrual cramps.

I love the cherry flavour! This saved me at night, as it effectively reduced symptoms so I could sleep. The one drawback is that I'm deadly drowsy in the morning, even after eight hours of sleep.

I currently have the flu. I took this medication and slept blissfully all night long. I don't know if it actually helped my runny nose, headache, sore throat, coughing and sneezing because I slept SO well. The only con for me was a dry mouth the next day, even though I drank plenty of water all day long.

I am a college student and have used NyQuil to sleep with a cold and sometimes just to get a solid night of sleep (obviously not my best idea). But last night I took the normal amount and I've been blacking out all day long and I have been confused and just disoriented since I've woken up. I am a concerned and am thinking about going to the hospital.

I developed a severe rash on my extremities and torso, lasting over a 4 day period even though I stopped taking the medication. Never had a reaction like this to medication before.

I took Nyquil at night and Dayquil during the day, for sure gets the liquid capsules, then you don't taste the strong flavor. This always eases my symptoms so I an sleep and then get through the day.

I love Nyquil! This is my go to drug everytime I get a cold but it's important you remember Nyquil is for night time, DAYquil is for during the day also you need to take it an hour before bed and only if you have 8 hours to sleep and you will sleep so good and feel better when you wake up. It tastes horrible like really really bad so hold your nose and have something to chase it with if you gag easily but other than that it's great and really works.

I bought NyQuil and NyQuil Nightime. Took the Nyquil at 6am before work and by 7am felt like I'd been hit with a tranquiliser gun. It's now almost mid-day and I can't keep my eyes open. When it says it can cause drowsiness, it's not kidding. Heaven knows what NyQuil Night-time is capable of!

If you buy liquid Nyquil, get the original flavor, and DO NOT GET THE CHERRY FLAVOR! They're both nasty, but the cherry flavor doesn't taste like cherry at all, and it's even more bitter and nasty. In my experience, Nyquil works better than Dayquil on a school/work day because it has an antihistamine to halt the runny nose (which Dayquil lacks because it can cause drowsiness), but as with all meds, it has a different effect from person to person, so the drowsiness can be a bigger problem for some people.Read More Read Less

Nasal drip was controlled very well on this med,but cough persisted. The taste is horrible. Does help you fall asleep But at the cost of a foggy head in the morning..

When I first began using Nyquil many years ago it worked very well in treating cold symptoms. Now, I used it this past week and it made my blood pressure go sky high!!!

I use it for insomnia. It doesn't seem to build up a tolerance as fast as other OTC sleep aids, and I don't get the sleep hangover from it. Discovered it by reading that it's listed as a sleep medication in the physician's reference.
