I have had Botox to treat the wrinkles betreen my eyebrow with good success. However, this last treatment has left me with a drooping eyelid on one side. It is horrible and embarrassing.

I have gained 15 pounds out of the blue. No diet changes, no other medications. I believe botox injections are to blame for weight gain. If it blocks acetylcholine, maybe this could cause weight gain. I have no other idea why sudden and drastic increase in weight... baffled.

Had this done with Dr. Kaplan of South Shore Medical Aesthetics in Wantagh, NY. He explained everything and there was no pressure. Did not hurt with injections and no problems afterwards.

I received an email from them saying “buy $100 gift card, get $100 gift card free.” I called to make sure it was legit - it was. The email specifically says “get voucher emailed to you 20 minutes after purchase.” So I go head with the purchase. Thankfully, I took screenshots of the purchase because I never got an email. My Botox appointment was the next day. I needed that voucher to pay for my Botox. It’s the whole reason I bought the voucher. Long story short - I called multiple times, multiple numbers, was on hold for a grand total of 4 hours combined and NEVER GOT THROUGH TO ANYONE. I had to go to my Botox appointment anyway and pay without the voucher. So annoying. I still haven’t received an email or call back or anything. If this is how they do business, I won’t be doing business with them anymore. Read More Read Less

First time 20 units for “11’s”. The day after the injections, I had a sudden onset of extreme nausea. During the following month (3-6 weeks after injections), I experienced dizziness, occasional vertigo, headaches and nausea. Week 6, my left arm went completely numb for several hours, and my headaches started to feel really unusual, like a pressure behind my eyes. Week 7, my headaches got worse and I started to develop a slew of other symptoms…a neck pain that radiated up and around my neck in waves, a continuous dull headache, along with waves of head pain and an intense pressure that radiated up the sides and around the front part of my head, plugged ears and ear/jaw pain. Some milder symptoms: on and off pain/weakness in my right leg, on and off tingling in my left arm, trouble swallowing, tinnitus. I have had a CT scan and MRI, all tests came back normal. Currently, (14 weeks) I am dealing with a mild dull headache, less intense waves of nausea and dizziness, and the waves of pressure in my head/ears/jaw. Read More Read Less

I have had several botox treatments from a local clinic. I find I look refreshed & my fine lines are gone within a day or two and for me it lasts 4 months. I need quite a bit of ice time to freeze me so it isn't painful when the Dr. injects the botox. I have no side effects whatsoever from this drug.

Have found this to be one of the best preventative treatments for my migraines/ headaches. Have had botox for migraines for approximately 2 1/2 years. After awhile I could go more than three months for the botox. Amazing for me.

I went to Skin Vitality in Markham for Botox injections on my upper lip to soften minor fine lines and at the corners of my mouth to lift them. The company did a horrendous job and I am now unable to smile as I used to. I cannot drink from a cup without liquids spilling from the corners of my mouth and I am not able to eat with my mouth fully closed. I need to hold my finger across my upper lip as though I am making a faux mustache - in order to keep my mouth closed when I eat. I also have problems forming certain words with the letter 'p' in it. Overall, I am horrified by the way my appearance has been affected. I do not recommend getting Botox from Skin Vitality ever.Read More Read Less

Worked on the lines between my eyes but has caused extreme anxiety that I have never had before. I had to search on forums to find that alot of other people have it too. I thought I was having a heart attack.

I had Botox between my eyebrows done last year. I just got it done again. The next night, I started having an itch, then it became a rash, then headaches, then fever like symptoms. The rash is not going away, the sore throat and the fever like symptoms is going away slowly. I did not have any side effects for the first time, but the second time. Even though it works very effectively, I have to wait this one out and then look at the entire situation, if this is really worth it. I hope the rash goes away, it has been six days now, and then it is not worth having one part look better and then the rest of the body parts arms and torso all rashed up. Read More Read Less

My wrinkles went away with a relaxed look, but within a few days my right eyelid began to droop and I have asymmetrical eyes now. 10 days after injections began with eye irritation. 2 weeks after injections unable to wear my contacts and a constant eye infection has in-sued. 2 rounds of steroid eye drops. It has now been 6 weeks with no relief in site. Drs. will not confirm all of this is from Botox however, never had the problem before. I will never allow any injections near my eyes again. Beware!Read More Read Less

I began using Botox for migraines in 2011. It has literally changed my life. I went from taking four Imitrex a week to one one a month. Yes, as stated above if they give you too much you will fell a little run down for a week. My head felt like a bowling ball for 6 weeks which STUNK. But the next time we discussed it and less was injected. Now we've gotten it dialed in. I always have pain near the injection site just passed my hairline above my ear for a few days. That shot just SMARTS! But if your insurance will pay for it, DO IT!Read More Read Less

I received the injections (31) of them for migaines. I still get the migaines not as offen as before, doctor told me it could take up to 3 times before it works. I did notice that they are not as bad, also notice that both of my eyes lids are droopy - side effect of the botox. Besides the cost $ 1,500.00 plus the doctor visit - insurance did not cover and the droopy eye lids I will not go through this again.

I had my second botox treament 3 days ago and once again had no ill side effects. I didn't of course get rid of the deep wrinkle between my brows, but it is softer and prevents it from getting worse. There is slight bruising by my eyes from have my crows feet done also. I think the secret is to go to a good plastic surgeon.

My doctor suggested Botox for my chronic migraines. I have had 3 ablations (burning of the nerves) previously and he said that he wanted to try this because it was less invasive. It has been 3 weeks since the injections and I began getting very weak and just plain sick. I had to go to the hospital last Tuesday. I cannot open my mouth more than 1 1/2", I can barely lift more than 2#, I am extremely weak, my lympth nodes are swollen and I can not bend over to even brush my teeth because it feels as if my head were a bowling ball. I cannot venture off the couch for more than a few minutes at a time. Read More Read Less

I received these shots in my neck. I have sever pain in the neck area for six weeks. The pain reduced in severity after 3 weeks. Migraines were eliminated for 3 months. Since this paralyzes the muscles I could not hold up my head when leaning forward. This was drastic when using a low sink or leaning over to pick something up off the ground. I have had success with nerve blocks which are also painful but for a period of days not weeks.
