This is the first birth control I totally love. I've been on it for over 2 years. I take it on time every day at the same time. I never have my period unless I decide to take myself off the pill for a month just to cycle. I don't get any mood swing or have I gain any weight. It hasn't affected my breast size one bit. I'm 28 years old standing at 5'3 tall and weight 125 lbs. I've tried other birth ...

I was prescribed this medication at my postpartum check up as I elected to breastfeed my baby and needed something that wouldn't hinder such. I had never been on BC before so I wasn't sure if the acne, weight-gain, moodiness and general feeling of panic were normal. After two months, my headaches got so bad that I went to the ER where I learned that I was pregnant with TWINS... Needless to say, no...

44 yrs old, tubes tied over 20 years ago so not taking to prevent pregnancy. Prescribed nora-bee and 800 mg ibuprofen due to severe cramps with vomiting that leaves me incapacitated for first 24-48 hours of cycle plus I have high blood pressure. Cycle still like clockwork but now lasts 7 days with heavy bleeding (huge blood clots), cramps all days instead of first couple of days, no weight gain or acne. Thinking of partial hysterectomy now because thought this pill would make better. The only thing it made better is no more vomiting, but I would take that over bleeding heavily and constant painful cramps for 7 days!Read More Read Less

I have been taking this medication for almost a month now and I absolutely hate it. I have had a lot of unpredictable yet constant spotting every day to every other day for the entire time, and now an irregular period (or I can only assume that's what is happening. I have noticed a slight negative change in mood, not sure if it is because of the added hormones or because I just hate bleeding for an entire month. Incredibly unhappy on this medication, but also concerned about the repercussions of stopping mid-cycle. I would not recommend this drug to anyone ever. Read More Read Less

I switched from Microgestin to Nora-Be because of melasma issues. I have taken Nora-Be for almost three weeks and just got my period. It is horribly heavy. Hasn't been this way in years. I asked to switch back.

Was put on it because I'm breastfeeding. I been on it for 4mohths now. No weight gain or acne. The only side effect I have is no periods. I am not sure I like that though, woman should get a period every month, it's natural..

There are a lot of negative reviews of this drug but I have had a very good experience from it. I started using nora be because my Dr was concerned that my old bcp, Trinessa, was causing my migraines. This new pill has helped my acne and hasn't affected my mood or weight in a negative manner like the Trinessa used to. Plus no periods! :)

I used this pill for 2.5 months. Stopped using because I was getting bad cramps, severe acne, tender breast. It's been 10months since I stopped using Norabe and I'm suffering from severe acne on face, back, shoulders ever since I stopped using this pill. I get uncontrollably emotional before my periods and I've never had such horrible problems ever since I stopped using Nora-be. My acne is so bad that prescribed topical creams and pills and pro active doesn't help at all. If anyone can relate to having these problems and has overcome them please let me know how. I got on Nora BE because all other BC pills give me horrible nausea, weight gain, low libido and terrible mood swings. I have been on Nora BE for a few weeks and haven't experienced anything like that. I love Nora BE! I don't even feel like I'm taking BC. The only dissatisfaction I have is that you have to take it at the exact same time everyday, which can be a bit of a pain. Also my first period has been very rough. I don't think Ive ever had period cramps like this before. But its only the first one so they may continue to lighten and hopefully eventually stop all together. Lastly, I'm starting to break out a little. I'm not sure if the breaking out is due to my period or the BC yet, so we will have to wait a few weeks to see what happens. Read More Read Less

After being prescribed this drug for PCOS and birth control, I felt very calm and the only down side was spotting constantly. That got better after three months, but it still happens when I don't take the pill at exactly the same time every day. After further research, I found out that Nora-Be affects thyroxine concentrations in the blood. Having hyperthyroidism that needs to be checked regularly, I was worried. My doctor had just lowered my dose of medication due to my test results. Since then, I've experienced "panic attacks" for the first time in my life, but I'm also on a heart monitor to rule out arrythmia. I tried to stop taking the pill early on because of the spotting being so annoying. I became super stressed out and had very heavy bleeding. I had to go back on it to calm down. I'm reporting this to the FDA because this information on thyroxine concentrations should be in the medication leaflet distributed with the pill and it's not. I am afraid to stop taking this pill now.Read More Read Less

Since switching I can't have sex because I get this horrible pain that shoots up to my ovaries. It has made me gain weight and its normally really hard for me to gain. My skin is just so oily and gross all the time and i have killer headaches... not a fan of this pill.

Been using this pill for about a month and no acne or mood swings. I gained a few pounds but not quite sure if its because of the pill yet. This pill actually gave me a shorter/lighter period with less pain which I am very happy about because mine were long, heavy, and painful. Hopefully this pill continues to work this well.

6 days into taking this pill and I'm very dizzy... seem more dizzy when I move my eyes from side-to-side... Definitely stopping pill and calling doctor on Monday. Family history of blood clotting, just not me so this is concerning. Not using for b/c so not worried about that... I haven't changed anything else since starting and have had a good balanced diet and plenty of fluids.

HELP!!! I am so confused! I'm 42 years old. Have been on LoeEstrin since I was 19 but because of high blood pressure I was "ordered" off of it. Now I am prescribed Nora-Be and after reading your reviews- I don't want to start my new pack next week. I thought about getting an IUD but am nervous about getting an infection from that too. I don't want to be breaking out in itchy water blisters that leave bruises, loose any of my already-thin hair, or be even more depressed than I already am. I hate change and I am not impressed with the reviews Nora-Be has gotten. DISLIKE Read More Read Less

I'm on my third pack of pills and I liked Nora-Be until this month. I've had a lot of weird things happened to me which I did not understand why until I read on here that other people were experiencing the same things. I was put on this pill because I started getting migraines, I really haven't experienced anything since I started, but I've recently realized I had bruises all over my body and had no idea how it happened and I've become very very itchy especially my scalp and my scalp is bruised because of scratching so much, this was caused by this pill. My face has been very clear until now, I'm breaking out like a 12 yr old going through puberty. I'm a pretty thin girl and recently lost a couple pounds. On this 3rd pack I gained over 5 pounds and I eat healthy and go to the gym at least 3 times a week or more so I shouldn't be gaining anything. I'm usually very moody the first month and a half on a new birth control (this is my 3rd time on a different BC pill) and then I'm usually back to normal but this is the third month I'm on it and I'm still an emotional mess crying about everything! Last thing I don't like about this pill is you have to take it exactly at the same time each day which is hard for me because my schedule is all over the place everyday where I can't take it exactly when I need to. Also, I don't get my period which can be good except when you're not even close to trying to get pregnant because one month you get it the next you don't so I'm usually paranoid when I don't get it even though I know I'm not pregnant. I highly HIGHLY recommend using condoms!!! This pill isn't as strong as your usual birth control pills so there's a higher chance of getting pregnant. Be careful! Sorry about my long rant! This pill just frustrates me so much! Hope I helped!Read More Read Less

While on this pill I suffered from massive water retention, hair loss, rashes, acne, excessive weight gain despite healthy habits (and the weight won't come off!), oily skin and hair. This was the only pill I could take while breast feeding, but it was NOT worth it. I would rather be pregnant all the time! I would not recommend this pill to anyone.

I was put on nora be to help with my heavy menstrual cycle. In 2 months, I have bled every other week for 5 days, I have gained weight (9lbs), I have a dark patch on my face, I am getting acne (never had acne problem). This pill is garbage, why would my Dr. give me this?? I threw them in the trash.

I was diagnosed with migraines. My dr took me off my regular birth control for 2 months until I could get in the office and see her and put me on this pill. I have been on this pill for 3 weeks now and I am having horrible cramps. The whole 2 months I wasn't on any birth control and the whole 20 yrs I was on b.c I never had cramps like this. I called my dr yesterday and she said this is normal and to take motrin. Guess I will try to stick to it for another month to see if it gets any better. Cramps really suck!!!Read More Read Less

I started taking progesterone because I had really bad ovarian cysts almost every month. I had very bad reactions to estrogen-progesterone combination pills (overly emotional/depressed) so my nurse practitioner recommended progesterone only. I will admit it took about 4 months to get used to this pill but now I am satisfied with it. I take it at the same time every single day, which is kind of burdensome. I exercise regularly and eat healthful meals and I feel great on this pill. No weight gain (except during the first few months) and my breasts increased in size (not upset though!). I haven't had cysts since starting progesterone so I'm happy with pill overall. I will also give some advice: if you feel nauseous or tired or anything else immediately after taking this pill (within 1-2 hours of taking the pill) try taking the pill at night. Progesterone reaches maximum plasma concentration about 1-2 hours after oral ingestion so I noticed that when I fell asleep right after taking the pill, I didn't feel these side effects (or I don't notice them at all). Everyone is different and it's trial and error to find what works for you!Read More Read Less
