This drug has worked fabulously for controlling my daughter's asthma. HOWEVER,it's side effects have been a nightmare. Began taking it after 3rd birthday, would not longer sleep in her bed, up numerous times /night, horrible temper tantrums, weepy, moody/irritable. Everyone thought she was just "going through a phase." Docs assured me could not be because of meds. They increased her dosage when s...

I have moderate fall allergies: runny nose, itchy eyes, nose, throat, and ears. My doctor put me on this, clarinex, and Veramyst. My itchyness is gone, but my nose is still runny.

This helps open up my airways and makes everyday breathing easier. I don't need to use inhalers before exercising any more.

This pill has helped by asthma, but I have now realized that it has made my sinusitis worst. I could not sleep at night because of severe nasal congestion, and after stopping the pill for just 2 days now, I have improved.

I do not have asthma, but I used to get sinus infections and allergy attacks during certain months of the year. I switched to singulair a few years ago and hardly ever get allergy attacks and haven't had a sinus infection since. *knock on wood* My whole family uses it and we love it!

Singulair 5mg chewable tablets were prescribed to my 5 year old daughter to take until her tonsilectomy in 3 weeks. It did not help her allergies and caused her to be nauseated, have an upset stomach, lots of dizziness, headache,to be irritable, and I think it caused her to have nightmares all on the 4th day. Upon investigation it is not recomended for children under 6! I am stopping it right away and she will be seeing the doctor in the morning. I am very upset and she will never take this medication again!Read More Read Less

I was on Albuterol alone and using it everyday. My primary care physician prescribed this for a one time a day usage. I am Bipolar so one warning for some; take it at night. I took it during the morning once and was manic and scattered and felt very dizzy and confused. But I take it at night and I hardly ever use my inhaler anymore. My doctor wanted me on something like this as the inhalers can scar lung tissue. I did not want to go on a steroid based inhaler so we chose Singulair and it has worked. Took about ten days but now I notice a huge improvement over my asthma/allergy problems.Read More Read Less

Worked very well for a few years, but after I started taking a birth control I noticed some days I would have a little trouble breathing. Also, if I miss a dose I get sick to my stomach.

I take it at night with my inhalers and it helps a lot to cut down on nightly wheezing and mucous production. I like it. Don't notice any side effects. It works in an interesting manner.

Had a hard time telling if this was working or not. I still had to take Claritin, my rescue inhaler and sometimes benedryl while on it, so when I ran out I stopped because I didn't see any point in taking yet another drug tat doesn't work.
