My Mother just recently nearly died after using this drug nightly for stuffy nose, she has high blood pressure, could be from 35 years of using this stuff daily, her heart stopped and we came so close to loosing her, I thought she had stopped the use of Afrin years ago, was suprised to find she had not and in the end this was the reason for her near death experience. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT...

The product is great. Opening the plastic bottle is horrible. The child-guard cap is virtually impossible for anyone without strong upper body strength to open. This needs to be addressed and corrected.

The only product that unstuffs my stuffy nose so that I can sleep at night. Tried all the others - this is the only one that actually works.

I read some of the reviews from folks who have problems opening the package. I thought I might be one as well, but all I did was remove the white plastic safety wrap with black lettering, then twist off the red cap counter clockwise while holding the part that it sits on. Simple. I've taken two sprays in each nostril but that was minutes ago so I have no idea how it works yet. If you can't open the package you've got bigger problems than a stuffy nose.

I wasted almost $16 on two spray bottles of Afrin because of the horrible safety cap. It is not a child-resistant cap. It is a Fort Knox style security system. In the end, in desperation to breath without driving back to the drugstore, I cut the top off one of the bottles with a skill saw. Once I got to the Afrin, it worked good enough -- but that took fifteen minutes of frustration. I will never, ever buy this product again because of the horrible packaging. The cap is more than poorly designed -- it's an insult to the consumer. Now that I can breathe again, I'm on my way back to Walgreen's for a refund and to buy another brand of nasal decongestant. Afrin's name brand product has a TERRIBLE package that is impossible to open. If you can get it open, it doesn't spray at all, you have to pour it out.

Afrin worked when I used it before. This new top is worthless - will never buy again. Stuck with a worthless $7 bottle I can't open. For all I know, could be water in the bottle as it's going in the trash.

Works great but it's to easy to become dependent on it. With it you breathe great. Without it you feel like there's a plastic bag being held over your face. Better off just going to the doc and finding the source of your ailment. DO NOT USE THIS

This is the worse product I have ever used. The new cap is extremely hard to remove. It's is suppose to be a product for stuffy nose and if someone does not feel good they do not want to have to deal with not being able to use the product. I had to cut the cap off in order to use the product. The product itself is good but the packaging causes me to never want use it again.

This nasal spray works like a miracle. But DO NOT USE IT! Used it about twice 12 hours apart and started to notice I lost my sense of taste as well as smell. Wish I read reviews before I used it. I'd rather be nasally and conjested rather than lose my senses and taste. The box doesn't include any of the warnings I've encountered. Works but has side effects. I would recommend 0-10 lol. Regrets

It worked great.... Could breathe through my nose instantly and through the night but my HUGE PROBLEM with it is that it kept me up all night with only two hours of sleep! I had lots of energy but it gave me anxiety for hours.. I also felt light headed and dizzy! I won't ever recommend it or use it again!

I have allergies/hay fever which sometimes leads to a stuffy nose. I have taken this medication 3 times, and each time the congestion went away, but I will have horrible sneezing fits to the point of dizziness. I will NEVER use this product again.

Stay away! This is the devils drug! There i was minding my own bushiness when a cold comes along. We always keep this demon drug in the house and i never suspected it could do any harm. I took it twice a day during my cold, but even after all my other cold symptoms were gone, congestion was still there! And it was getting worse. I researched it and as it turns out, Afrin is addictive. Very addictive. And the only way to get rid of it? Afrin. Ah yes a vicious cycle indeed. Rebound congestion is the worst congestion i have ever experienced. I have been usuing for around 2 or 3 months multiple times a day. There are people out there who have been using Afrin and Afrin like products for decades! Needing to take a hit multiple times per hour! I can only imagine what trying to quit is like for them! In severe cases some people need steriod injections into the nostrils to cure the addiction. Not to mention the song term damage to your nasal cavities! I'm in the process of quitting now. Cold turkey. I haven't used it in 36 hours and i wont go back because the fear of starting over is too much. I slept 1 hour last night. So far no improvement. And no other congestion remedies help. Not Sudafed, not a neti pot, not sinus massages, nothing. And believe me i have tried everything you could possibly think of. This should not be an OTC drug. Quitting is torture and i doubt i will be able to sleep for the rest of the week.Trust me don't get this stuff. Its evil. Just suffer through your cold and allergies for a few days. The congestion you feel is a a walk in the park compared to the rebound congestion of Afrin. No me gusta.Read More Read Less
