I have been taking Florinef for over 5 years for low BP. It has been wonderful! I used to feel extremely tired all the time and would faint on a frequent basis. Since I have started this med I feel great and haven't had a single faining spell!

This drug gave me massive migraines and I only been taken it for 4 days, the migraines went away when I stopped taken them. These migraines felt really bad enough to make my eyes hurt and pressure to my head, also made me feel nauseous and couldn't function.

Helps with the fainting episodes (13 instant colapses (unconscous) to the floor in the past 17 weeks. Go through phases of once to 4 times feeling quite faint while resting in a recliner with feeling faint for 5 minutes up to 20 minutes. Taking 1 mg Florinef every morning. However blood pressure bouncing around daily anywhere from 117/94 to 192/87 , all readings taken while sitting in recliner reading and watching TV. Have been continuous care by both an Endrocrinologist and a very well reguarded Cardiologist as well as a Rhumatologist. Just completed an at-home 14 day continous 24/7 EKG with remote telemetry to a contral monitorin/recording center and concurrently undergoing a 4 day at-home 24/7 24-wire EEG monitoring with recording and telemetry with continous Audio/Video Recording with one camera in the sitting room and one camera with low-light and no-light video and audio. Do not have the readings evaluation and results but should have them within at least 20 days. Actually, hope something shows up to help us move in a direction where further in-depth diagnosis can be established and an additional treatment regimen implemented.Read More Read Less

My daughter was diagnosed at 10 days old with a congenital condition. For the first 2 years, all was well - fairly normal weight - true to size. But then it was determined to up the medication (after her 2nd birthday) and within 3 months she gained 12 pounds. That was a little over a year ago. My daughter is now 3 1/2 years old and 60 pounds. I have been to the major children's hospitals in the NE. All want to say it is her diet. So I journaled everything she ate - she doesn't eat her needed amount of calories in a day - only around 800 - 1000 and she is VERY active. My older son, is thin and tall. She does not ask for food and typically only eats at meal times. I have begged her doctors to look at the florinef - it is almost as if they are not listening and tell me her metabolism is slow . . . grrrrr. One doctor actually told me to feed her LESS! And we eat NO pre-packaged or processed foods, with the exception of the occasional hot dog or mac and cheese. She eats no "whites", no white potatoes, bread or rice. Besides, she is not a big carb eater at all. As you may tell I am frustrated to no end - although my pediatrician is on my side and our next visit may be to CHOP (Children's Hosp of Penn). He has seen my journals (they had too) and knows my kids. I have put a call into her endocrinologist to almost "demand" a reduction in this drug. As a trial to see if she will start to decrease. Anyone else have a similar situation!?!?!?Read More Read Less

was diagnoised with neuro/cardio-sycope, BP would drop after fainting and seizure would happen..Florinef stopped this and never had a spell since taking it....until my ANYRISM. I think Florinef raised my BP to high and may have caused my anyrism. We are still investigating this possibility but want to warn others.

This drug has given me a life like I had never known. In 2006 I went to bed in Nov. & didnt get up til Apr. 2007. Since then I rarely had a good day. I felt extreme fatigue, lethargy and fuzzy thinking, dizzyness + more. No one had a diagnosis. My Father has the same symptoms & worse as he hit the floor regularly. I have been diagnosed with adreanal problems and can finally live again. My father has not been diagnosed yet but Im on it.

before florinef i used to consume 15,000 mg of salt daily just to function. I had a bit of a challenge at first with my dosage, gaining 15 lbs. With a higher dosage I have reduced the swelling, and am able to exercise again! it has changed my life, not to mention my family.

Don't take this medication with ibuprofin or your legs may swell and your blood pressure will really go up. That's what happened to me. I discovered the cause reading information provided by my insurance company's oncall nurse.

I have been diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance, I've been taking this for 11 months and have decressed my fainting by 80%. However,I still fill dizzy upon standing and I did gain 30 lbs. in the first 8 months. I went from 100 lbs to 135 lbs. I would like to know if anyone else has had this side effect?

I have been taking this drug for a month, I have neurocardiogenic syncope, and the cardiologist that treats me since I was a teen said that it would help the lightheaded feeling....I also take 2 other drugs to treat symptoms related to this diagnosis and I have felt more dizzy on this drug than I did before I started it. It has not helped, and I intend to talk to my doctor about stopping it really soon. This drug may be effective for some people, but not for me.

I am taking this medication for POTS. I use to get bad chest pain and this eliminates it. I still get dizzy but I am able to stand longer when using this drug. I am afraid to see what happens when I get off of it.

Father has Parkinsons and bp drops when standing. This seemed to even out his pressure, but did not do much for the fainting feeling. Serious side effect was severe loss of potassium. Beware- we have had to stop this drug.
