Originally I was on the generic version of this medication, but it was causing my hair to fall out. My doctor swtiched me to Synthroid and I'm very happy with it. My hair is fine and my thyroid levels seem to be getting back to normal.

I have been diagnosed with hpyothyroidism since 2002 from a routine employment health program. I mentioned this to my VA dotors and showed them the lab analysis results. They did absolutely nothing. In February 2008, I felt lousy and went to a VA outreach clinic where the doctor revealed that my thyroid was underactive. At that point, he perscribed to me this medication. I'm 19 and I have been on ever increasing doses of this medication for the past two years. I still don't feel like I have any energy, I'm overweight and can't lose weight, I am constantly nausious, have muscle and joint pain, depression, frequently irregular periods, and diarrhea. I've been taking this med since 94 my doc had me on 200mcg felt great had energy lost weight then switched me to 100mcg tired all the time and gained a lot of weight make sure you find a doctor that knows about thyroid disorder or you will never fill right .I've noticed no real changes since taking this med It may be different for you
