I've been refusing treatment for a GAD disorder for the longest time because of the fact that I'd been addicted to benzos after having them prescribed to me. I decided at my last Dr's appointment that I would try this and am so far been very please with the results. It does make me a little bit groggy but it calms me more than it does anything else. I suffer from general anxiety disorder, panic attacks and worry!! Have found when taken 25mg hydroxyzine turns me into a zombie especially the next morning after taking dose at night. Sleep like a baby mind you. Ive found best dosage for me was to gradually take 3mg through out the day when feeling on edge. Has done wonders for my anxiety and physical symptoms does not help racing thoughts ... Show Full Comment

I was Rx'd this drug by my doctor because she said that the Xanax I was taking maybe 3 x's a week was like a pill form of alcohol and way too addictive for me. (Never mind that I have no history of ANY sort of addiction or addictive behaviors.) I took this drug 3 times over an 8 day course.
